- I had to go to the junk yard and hop on a bin to find a motor to build my home made tattoo machine a do some rose tattoo with it. I really got used to the tattoo machine after a while and even started to like the way it worked.

I've been a few years now watching your videos (from season 1 of the show or before I think). I liked the traveling ones but as I tattoo aswell, I find this type of videos youre putting out now are way better.

Button Tip: I had the same problem with the plastic button wearing out. I have found that the spare metal button you get with jeans works well for this. You will have to drill a small hole on the front of the button for you needle bar. But the back of the button has a toothy rivet hole that fits snug on you motor's shaft. Its light but strong and already perfectly centered so a lot smoother. Hope that helps.
Jimmy nah don't use that , For starters when you make a tattoo needle you use the spring from a pen.. while your making the needle cut a piece off of it about a half an inch long maybe a little smaller(my lengths through inches n shit is all bad lol) and then get the ink cartridge and cut a a small piece off the back about as long as the width of 3 quarter coins put together.. then squeeze that piece to flatten it with some pliers to widen it/ stretch it's width.. doing this you can fit that plastic piece onto the end of the motor and slide the piece of metal from your needle in there it should fit pretty tight , using a button the needle moves out in to wide of a circle motion and even though a metal button might work I would suggest this method even more..

Jimmy Its fun building these things lol , get creative with it, I plan on getting a 3D Printer and printing out some custom parts for mine and rebuilding it with more functionality , At first I wanted a speed control and i was going to use a push button that when released would slow the motor down and when you want to speed up to tattoo you press onto it but I decided that would be to much strain on the hand I may just add an on and off switch and include a built in port so I can choose to either use a battery pack or a wired wall connection
You can buy tattoo machine cam for few euros from ebay or aliexpress. With 10 euros you buy pretty good direct drive rotary.
That's a brilliant tip, man. Thanks!! Any suggestions on motor types? And I've tried plenty of used motors salvaged from shit; still prefer to buy packs of them on Amazon tho, despite them usually being pretty weak.
