I just found out today a great teacher of mine has passed away. With all the mixed emotions that come with the death of a loved one, it hurts. And to have this treasure pop up on my feed has brought me comfort and serenity tonight. Long live J Dilla and Brother Panic ❤💫🐐🎵

J Dilla is the best beat producer of all time
    The GOAT hands down
    Don't even debate me lol
Creatively there's a God tier into which many great artists have tapped.
JD stayed there and kept doing it nonstop till he died in 2006. 16 years later, in 2022 I'm still finding incredible transcendent beat tapes I've never heard. That's prolific.

nah on the real , the creativity in his beat making is unmatched not by any producer, love them all alchemist , 9th, premier, all of them , but as far as beat making he cant be seen. he had too keen of an ear.

No shit. Love all the 90’s hip hop produces and no disrespect to any of them but Dilla just had a different way of moving the beat. Even with an average sample he finds a way to push it forward and make it catchy.

@@Shaggy_worksout I give the edge to producers that dont really rely on samples tho. Organized Noize, Mannie Fresh, Pharell. Mantronics back in the day.
