Is this for a Packard Bell thing? Like it's technically a run of the mill sandwich that works for lunch but is made with lousy ingredients that don't taste right like how a Packard Bell is technically a run of the mill computer that works for the average household but is made with lousy parts and barely works?
Woohoo! As a non-American I love seeing these American staples. Like that brand of bread - I only know it from The Simpsons when Moe used them as shoes ("you don't like my bags?")
I make these for my wife about twice a week with WalMart generic smoked sliced ham, Kraft Cheese slices, Miracle Whip, Sara Lee Bread... oh, and that's it. It'll get you full!
Bread - consistent Spread - smells like nostalgia Lettuce - generic Ham - I guess it's ham? Cheese - cheese product (not actually cheese) Mustard - yep, its mustard Chips - wet cardboard (in a good way?) overall impression: technically a meal, certainly a sandwich, chips are almost potato-like, if you changed all of it it would be good.
Sometimes I just toss some ham on bread and call it a day if I want a true depression meal. Other times I'll take a mile-high mountain of meat, toppings, and condiments.
I bought Wonderbread for the first time a couple weeks ago, I was surprised by how well it stood up to peanut butter. Didn't really have much flavor, but it did make decent french toast later.
The intentional mix of consistency and contrast of this video to your others is pure artistry. Happy to see yet another way this foods side channel is not being taken too seriously. This video needs to go viral.
Nothing wrong with this, Clint. In fact, I was just finishing some mac-n-cheese, and got very hungry watching you sandwich. (Yes, I verbed that noun) Not every day can I make a fancy sandwich, but you make even the most simple generic sandwich into something made with care... Not so much love in this one, but I think you could have very easily. I'm with everyone here, I want more LGR foods.
You are making me feel horrible about eating sandwhiches like this! lol I eat this on a normal day! Just quick and easy in a pinch. Cant believe I stumbled across this channel though, had no idea you had this on top of your regular channel, you never cease to surprise! NICE!
Clint, channel 9 Victoria Australia used clips from this video in their news presentation on the 3rd may 2022. The story was about a local cancer council wanting to ban ham in sandwiches in schools. Just in case you were not aware
Guys, this is the most american food. I grew up on ham and cheese sandwiches all my life. When I was a kid, I always had one as a snack after school if not a hot dog.
As a legitimate question, what's with all the hate for Miracle Whip in the video and the comments? Maybe it's been my upbringing but I friggin' love Miracle Whip, and quite contrary to many of the comments on this video, I don't like mayonnaise. I can see why mayo is a much more preferred dressing over Miracle Whip but this is the first instance of me learning that people don't like Miracle Whip.
People not liking Miracle Whip is a big phenomenon. There are even Miracle Whip commercials that reference the fact that lots of people don't like it (I personally like both Miracle Whip and mayo)
Yeah, Miracle Whip is vile and should not go on any sandwich. That Land o' Frost ham doesn't have that rich smoky flavour the Black Forest Ham I usually get does, it just has a bland, processed taste. Glad you admitted it sucked at the end! Thanks for these vids, Clint!
I still think the sandwich looked really good. Especially with that leafy green lettuce. It made me nostalgic for school lunches and field trips. Sitting on the grass with my friends and trading Gushers and Hi-C Ectocooler. Discussing the previous day's episode of Pokemon. Simpler times.
I beg you make more, this is entertaining and on such good quality with commentary this might get more subs than LGR if you put the time into it and enjoy it.
There's something super comforting about this video. Seeing Utz chips and a ham and cheese on Wonder Bread with Miracle Whip makes me feel like a kid again.
That feel when a deliberately boring sandwich. I cried a little inside, and that's from someone who considers oven roasted turkey, marble cheese, bacon, butter, salt and pepper on Italian bread along with a trip through the toaster a sandwich.
I love that you broke this down for those people who really don't know how to make it. But, we could do without the judgmental comments. Really, some people need your simple help.
honestly beautiful looking. It may be basic but i'm just glad I know the right order thanks to this as if you mess up the order you can get possibly a not so tasty sandwhich
Clint, you're killing me here! What's next? Spaghetti-O's? I didn't know you could still buy Wonder bread! Here on the west coast, those chips would have been either Granny Goose or Laura Scudder (both featuring green and dark brown chips).

We have regular cheeses as well. Even normal American "cheese" you buy from the deli is much more real than Kraft's prepackaged stuff. They're sort of in their own ballpark with their plastic-y cheese product (Along with Velveeta). Still, like Clint said, it can be actually pretty decent in some situations.
