This ''mélange" is very strange idea. Very strange indeed..... Every operatic work is a different work of creation. Why mixing 4 operas written in various stages of Donizetti's career ? Because they all include Elisabeth 1st ? The Tudor trilogy or tetralogy was more or less a publicity move to promote the recordings of Beverly Sills. Donizetti never saw the works as a unison. Why the opera house does not present these works separately according to the composer's intentions ? What if an orchestra conductor started to perform various movements of Beethoven's symphonies at will ? 🥴
