You can; there's a second video. Very slick system, I think ...

this looks dangerous af, just get yourself a grigri and an ascender, how do you get down?

You need to use ascenders in pairs on your back up. Otherwise you'll have to physically lift your weight with one hand, release the ascender, move it down and slowly release yourself to take up the slack.

Hmm. Well maybe, but with a 4:1 purchase, that should not be too strenous.
That said, doesn't the clam cleat used while ascending also hold his weight while descending, allowing him to stop and undertake another inspection/repair, rest or move the safety clutch if it becomes jammed or temperamental?

Video shaking all over the place and tbh can't see at all how it works.

At 73, I very much like your system and plan one similar for my 25-footer.
One warning I saw on another site worth questioning, I think, concerns the amount of line required for a 4:1 purchase, and the increased chance of it becoming tangled around a deck fitting as one ascends (or starts down), stranding the climber up the mast.
Was this a concern, and if so, how do you manage the line without a spotter?

Have used this system about a dozen times with no problems, although I can see it could be an issue if you are not careful with the lines, and attempt to use it when there is wind or waves.

It looks like a bowline round the first triple sheave (left) which negates using a triple block. Not well explained unfortunately.

I agree the third block seems redundant since the line could be attached above the block, or to a double-block with a becket.
