I had some used cooking oil and was wondering if I should throw it out. But, after seeing this, I will probably keep it and give this a try when I go camping this summer
My understanding is that you pre-wet the wick with oil, thereby making it hydrophobic and subsequently added water on top of the oil to create a higher pressure delta between the oil reservoir and the flame front, ensuring the wick keeps pulling up oil to the flame.
Could be also that but also oil can become overheated from the flame. Water might help keep it below 100 degrees but it could also backfire if it starts boiling. Also it will make a lot of sooth in the pan. I find alcohol camping stoves much better for these reasons.
Hi Sir! I'm glad that you liked it! Thank you very much!!! If you're interested in this kind of idea I have a new video that you can check out about stoves using used cooking oil that is much better.
That makes sense. And I appreciate the thought. Just wanted to know if you could explain why was the oil added to the bottom of the jar 🫙 and the oil on top of that? So confused 😐?
Honestly it is not practical in the long run, it's okay for instant foods. If you're thinking about a stove for the long run I have another video for that so check it out! Thankyou!
I use water so that even though you have less oil you can still use this and also it will help the oil to go above the water, and to balance the hotness.
yes because when you don't have much of an oil the water will help the oil to push up the water up the tube also the water will help balance the heat and make it safe
I can explain why is that.. the fabric absorbed the cooking oil because I put first the coooking oil that is why the cooking oil can't go over the water because they are being absorbed by the fabric.

Woww Naman po thank you for sharing
Maraming Salamat din po
Roughly 1/2 century ago, we had kerosene stove which use similar wick, but the flame was blue if done correctly.
Blue flame how
I have new video on how can use, used cooking oil as the fuel of stove that's much better because in a few minutes it will turn in a blue flame

And nature
Good for heating a room 👍👍👍
He didn't put water on the top or open part of the rags. They'll burn for 45+ min. The water of course never burns but does keep the jar cooler.

Great idea 💡
Galing pero andaming mantika hehehhehehe
Maraming Salamat po sa pag comment
Ok lang kesa itapon ang used oil s kanal pwede n dyan gamitin
nice idea
Keep in a well ventilated area with the yellow flame
Why
@@alialnumairy3072 Yellow flame may indicate carbon dioxide or monoxide
@@CapitalWheeler ANYTHING that is burning is consuming oxygen and producing carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
woaaaah!!!! 💯💯💯
Maraming Salamat po
I'm an aerospace engineer. I can do the same things with beer cans.
How long can it burn in that jar? How many minuts/ hours?? Also wont the jar burst from extreme heat? Might add 4 stones for if it burst
Galing idol keep it up
Thank you very much po Sir
Nakakatulong talaga yang water dahil may taglay yan ng H2O. Dalawang hydrogen at isang oxeygen. Kaya malakas tayo pag uminom ng tubig.
Good job brother
thank you very much Bro
♥️♥️♥️
Maraming Salamat po
Wouldn't the white tape melt?
If water gets into a wick then it won’t burn!
Ahhhh!!! My retirement grease!!
mas matagal kya maubos yan kaysa gas wd same capacity?

Ilang oras bago maubos?

Well done. Thank's.
What is the purpose of using water?
Same wonder
To prevent the jar being too hot, I guess. I have done similar experiences without water and the jar became too hot and burned the wooden floor....
I think....that's for temperature balance
Y v have to use water

sorry late reply because im busy with my work, I have new video about burner by using used cooking as its fuel
it's kerosene not water, if it was the oil would've stayed on top of it
Pansin mo rin?
I can explain why is that..
