Here is a 1945 recording of Fritz Kreisler playing his arrangement of Hungarian Rondo by Haydn. He is accompanied by The Victor Symphony Orchestra, Donald Voorhees conducting.
It's funny that the complaints about Young People Today™ not practicing are on a video of Fritz Kreisler, one of the most notorious non-practicers in the history of music.
I read recently a very negative comment from a Ray Chen - Two Sets fan, saying that Kreisler should be relinked as an inferior violinist, because his cult is unjustified. He prays Ray to be so much more gifted and much greater than Kreisler. I responded that Fritz Kreisler was highly educated, which is not the case with Chen, and added that no interpretation of Chen will ever make history: Chen like so many others of his peers is a clone. His sound is absolutely not an individual and distinctive one. He is no Oistrach Neveu, Heifetz, Francescatti and even less of a Kreisler.
There are plenty of American violinists who are equally dedicated and talented to their music as anybody else. Your statement is a disgrace to American violinists who practice hours each day just like their Asian counterparts. And nobody plays like this anymore. Very few violinists' character ever comes across so strongly in their music anymore. (Not to say that there aren't still wonderful modern violinists!)

King of violin
He was a story-teller, not an athlete. My favorite violinist!
