I could listen to Pete Rose talk baseball all day
Same here...hell i could listen to him tell stories non baseball related all day hes one hell of a story teller
Same here. He's such a nice guy. Too bad he screwed up as a manager. He still belongs in the HOF though.
The gum chewing was hilarious!
Honestly I think every baseball fan could watch him talking baseball
Know, he's passionate, and truly loves the game.
No kidding. Sharp as ever too.
Put that man in the hall of fame already. He's one of the best EVER!
Agreed, all he did was gamble on a sport. So what . There are people in other halls of fame that were drug addicts. Hell, Mollitor was a coke head and hes in the Hall.
Honestly,I think Pete not being in the Hall has been somewhat beneficial to him.It makes him more infamous and keeps his name in the press..And that's good for the business of being Pete Rose..
It’s an absolute travesty he isn’t in there.
@@vincecarter98 All he has to do is just admit that he gambled. And he can't do it. Not to mention he beat up his wife and son.
Hes a really nice guy too. I met him in Florida with my high school baseball team and he talked baseball with us for hours and then signed a bunch of stuff for us.
best episode ever!! Put Pete in the HOF!! Man deserves it
yes build a jail cell on the hall he will go in it.
Robert Mistretta on the Hall?
CLG46_CustomFrames that’s all I could think of the whole time I watched this.
Pete has such a good memory on these players
I was jaw dropped at how precisely he could remember. Never was a Rose fan, I just became one.
@Jean v He gets paid a lot for his "recall." Goes to a million shows a year. Memories are, in part, manufactured. Just as his gambling habit, it's all about the cash.
Pete remembers everything! So awesome.
Its easy to remember information when you absolutely love what you did. The memories are attached to emotions of which he had so much about with the game of baseball. I envy him on many levels. Nolan Ryan is the same way.
@@abecx you think way too much.
I could talk baseball with Pete rose all day. He has such a love for the game. 100% deserves to be in the HOF
Sideshow Bob no
William Bender don’t bet on baseball
I think i could watch Pete open up a 100 packs and talk about the players and baseball, priceless stuff!!!
Mark63 that video would be like 1 hour and 40 mins
Pete Rose is sharp! He has a great memory
Pete Rose is incredible. Awesome dude, needs to be in the HOF
Yes but this fucking guy fast forwarded a lot. It pissed me off. This guy just wanted to spend 10 minutes and leave with a quick buck.
I know Pete violated MLB rules, but he’s a treasure trove of baseball history & stats! LOVES baseball & has an amazing memory and is a entertaining fella
And a Perv.
Plain ridiculous he isn't in the Hall. They better not put him in after he dies either. That man deserves to see himself with that honor. Greatest hitter ever
I do not think that any other player in the last 56 years exists, that evokes so many emotions as Peter Edward Rose, my favourite player when I was a teenager, my favourite player now. (I'm 60)
Mr. baseball Commissioner, please put this man in the Hall of Fame before his time here on Earth is up for fuck's sake, we MLB fans will forever be grateful, his achievements are incredible.
Ty Cobb and Pete are similar in many ways-- one of which is that Cobb was incredibly smart as well.
Listen to this guy. He knows everything about the game. Jesus....
Fuck ty cobb
The man is a walking baseball encyclopedia...
Love the fact Pete blew off his fiance's call to talk more baseball.......a true legend !
Pete turned 78 on april 14 -- I hope he lasts until the HOF gets some sense
Problem is there is no push
@@paleo704 you are so right! His contemporaries are getting older too, and don't have as much influence as they did with the veterans committee. The new generation of fans do not appreciate his style of play.
They'll try and put him in soon as he dies. I hope his family doesn't allow it. If they can't do it now they don't deserve Pete after he's gone. The hall is a joke now.
bob steinhauer unfortunately, they’ll probably end up putting him in posthumously...
Hopefully, they never put his cheating ass in. Also, the dude was a first-class asshole during his playing days, and I'm not talking about on the field. I'm just talking about as a human being. I had enough dealings with the douchebag back in the early 80s to know. Regardless, the fact he's a dickwad shouldn't keep him out of the Hall. The fact he's a proven cheat should.
Not many things in life are more satisfying than opening an old wax pack.
Pete rose still has so much charisma, so much knowledge and will always be the man.
Its impossible to hate Pete Rose
I can't tell you how much I enjoy these segments. I spent half my childhood looking at baseball cards from the 80's, reading the backs of them and then making trades with my friends. And then to hear all these stories. I'm in heaven!
Stand up you don't have to be afraid.
@@111highgh I ENJOY THESE SEGMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Fantastic. Would be awesome to let him open a whole 36 pack wax box or at least until he found his own card.
Love it! Hearing Rose's stories is priceless.
My favorite player of all time. God Bless you, Mr. Rose.
Im amazed at the recall Pete Rose has. I saw an interview where he rattled off tons of stats from 40 plus years ago. His individual stats versus pitchers and teammate stats. I checked what he said with Baseball Reference and Pete was 100% accurate.
I love Pete man. I see him all the time out here in Vegas and he's a down to earth cool dude. always up for a good baseball convo! Good job guys keep it up . And please put the best all around hitter in baseball into the Hall of Fame .... Its only right
Peter Edward Rose, greatest baseball player and historian! Loves everything about the game!
Love Pete. He's a Champ! Remember when he came up as a Rookie. Yes I'm old!
This was great! You could genuinely tell he enjoyed telling those stories of the guys he knew... what a great memory.
I could listen to Pete Rose talk baseball all day. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks to who made this, it was very fun to watch......Pete Rose for the HOF !!!
They all gamble,he just got caught.4256 career hits.....that more than 21.....200 hit seasons hard to imagine
10.... 200 hit seasons, still my favorite player, hardest working man in baseball !
That was so enjoyable. I've met Mr. Rose several times, and that's him all the way.
Great Video!!! Man is his own hall of fame. Inducted or not, everyone knows and loves Pete Rose. Thanks for the awesome clip. Get him back on!
Dale Murphy is my all-time favorite ballplayer, so to hear the Legend Pete Rose speak of him was particularly gratifying. Love these reflections and the walks down memory... Bravo!
I really enjoyed this...I could watch this all day. I love his stories. The gum part was funny...almost seems like he didnt realize what he was doing at first😂🤣😂🤣!
This was just absolutely awesome.
NICE 👍
That’s an error card that Pete Rose discovered too.
It’s not even in the Beckets. Yet kids.
Hope you kept that card because he just made it worth while and we know it’s the Original 1 discovered now too.
Lol Nice 👍
Which card ?
Only if the card was corrected would it be a truly valuable error.
@@urmomma420 the card where the guy is shown batting right handed, when it even says on the card that he is left handed. LUL
#FailCard
Unbelievable memory of baseball players and stats. He obviously ate, slept, and drank baseball.
What a guy. Something tells me Pete would not be interested in discussing launch angles and exit velocities.
Pete Rose so sharp and so smart. What a great player that Charlie Hustle.
Let him open and entire season of cards. Seriously, I think he'd do this show again in a heartbeat, seemed to have a lot of fun remembering the days of old..Such a shame we can't see this content with Pete weekly on MLB Network. He's the man
Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame.
not
Mr Rose was & is still my favorite player of all time!!! No one has ever played the game with some much enthusiasm... He made the game fun to watch..
Man. For all of his goofy proclamations, all his self-aggrandizement, all his bad takes...I have to love Pete Rose, if only because of that genuine moment at 13:16 when his face falls and he says "That's it? That's all we get to do?" If I were an old retired ballplayer, god help me, I would be exactly like Pete Rose. I'd just want to sit there all day long and remember some guys.
Best guest ever! Pete Rose is the best all around player I got to watch in my 40 years of watching MLB. Plus what a sense of humor on that guy!
I have Pete Rose Home Jersey &
Davey Concepcion Road and both are 70’s V-Neck throwbacks.
Love those.
No buttons are the freshest.
That’s dope that Pete Pulled a Davey while I’m watching this too. Lol
iLL.
RED Legs baby Boi.
Thee Original Baseball team and the reason there is an 7th inning stretch.
It was started in Cincinnati with The Cincinnati Reds Home Games because
President William H. Taft was an REDS fan & A BiG BOi and so he wanted a
snack & restroom break during the game so he didn’t have to miss any of
the Game neither and thus the 7th inning stretch was created and now it’s officially a ritual.
Also The Cincinnati Reds used to always play the 1st Game of the
season to start the yr off and that was in tribute to The Reds being the 1st Official MLB Team.
They were the 1st Game of the season ever year until just here pretty recently.
Yes Sir.
Cincinnati Red Legs
✌️ 🙏
Charlie Hustle is the best!
Wish he had podcast, I can listen to him all day!
That was so cool. Pete wanted to be there cause he was having fun.
Best episode so far. As far as I'm concerned, he's square with the house so it is time for Pete to go into the HoF.
I could watch and listen to Pete Rose open complete SETS from his years as a player!!! bdog
Actually the second time up against Espinosa, Rose singled, 3rd at bat he homered. LOL
These videos are pretty great, fantastic idea. I could have watched Pete open up a case of cards. Keep em coming
Love the added sound effects when he ate into the gum. Sounded like an audio insert of someone eating potato chips
Yo Pete Rose sounds like Johnny Cash and I love it. He should start a podcast lmao
Where can I find all these episodes? There are only 35 or so on the Yahoo Sports UA-cam channel, and this is episode 100???
maybe on yahoo? lol
Super cool video! Awesome to see you hanging out w/ Pete 🌹
What a nice guy, I could listen to him all day long!
Wow!! Just found this channel today and its already one of my favorites! Better than most interviews.
This is gold. He has an important comment on every card! Dave Kiper-the player to be named later. Pete Rose would be my first choice if I were starting a team--wish his card was in one of those packs just to get his reaction.
Eating that prehistoric🦕 gum🍬 is the most hilarious thing🤣🤣... it sounded like a taco🌮
TO THIS DAY, the thing that amazes me about Rose and many, many professional ballplayers, retired and active..is how razor sharp, their total recall of game, players and innings, is. Just incredible. They can just glance at a guy's pic or name, and damn near tell you about his ENTIRE career, or big chunks of it..even if they didn play in the same damn league!
Pete's the best , put him in the hall of fame
Pete should have his own show and over that course just give him every topps set starting from '52 thru today and it'd be amazing the stories he must have of players and games!! Hit King lives!!
omg when you got pete rose too come open baseball cards with you of course you gotta let him choose first friggin legend lmao
Pete & his mind are just as sharp as ever !!!
Pete Rose remembers EVERYTHING. Wow.
Pete is cool man. I had a few of his cards from the 70's. I can listen to him allday. He's a great story teller
my favorite thing to do between the ages of 8 and 12 was sit down on my old couch in Queens Ny and watch the Yankees while opening my topps wax packs that I would spend my whole allowance on. I don't know if anyone noticed this with topps but in their 792 cards they would number the top players 100, 200, 300, 400, etc.....
Pete Rose is sharp as hell! He knows what hes talking about 24/7
If you didn't enjoy this you don't like baseball. Especially if you remember these players .Pete is baseball personified , he was the guy you told your kids to watch to show them how to go about playing baseball .And I hope the dude with the cards realizes how lucky he is to sit and open old card packs with Pete Rose ! I'm definitely envious
Pete Rose is a treasure!
How much fun was that?
16:29 Skipped over Cesar Geronimo, Rose's teammate on the Big Red Machine?
It was very disrespectful to skip a hall of famer
Yeah, I was disappointed about that too.
Didn't notice that. Damn. I remember Cesar.
I’m pretty sure you have to jump out of an airplane to say his name, so that’s probably why they skipped him.
He remembers a lot of facts about the players in the cards, looks like he study the players he faced and remembered how the pitches or play the game
Pete talks to everyone like he is their buddy and he has a great sense of humor. He doesn't carry himself like he is special or famous. Very impressive.
The great hitters have great baseball memory. Ted Williams was also able to pull dates out of nowhere regarding results at the plate for a specific game.
Can someone please give Pete Rose his own podast already .. that guy is a wealth of great baseball stories that ppl need to hear.
This was awesome. Lol on the gum and Flannery. He loves the game so much and this video clearly shows that as well
I can watch these all day.
"Their the most valuable ones" he says as he bangs them on the table then Pete rips them out of his hand.
good to see him relaxed. enjoyed watching this.
I truly enjoyed watching this 🙌🏼👊🏼👍🏼✌🏼
PETE ROSE! One of my all-time favorite players growing up.
The thing I loved about this pete looked at them cards with the love of the game and you could tell he loved every one of them guys let the man be with his friends and were he belongs in baseball history
Pete Rose is an awesome guy. Met him once and he remembers every detail about baseball down to smallest detail. He should be in the HOF!
Man that was awesome. Couldn’t stop laughing about the ball girl foul ball story and Pete eating the gum.
That man should've been in the Hall Of Fame many moons ago
I was going to say that wow Pete is as sharp as a tact even though hes almost 80 but then again he ate the gum, then again Pete is an old time tough player they could eat nails.
that was the best he needs his own podcast telling stories, the gum at end had me cracking up!
Pete's stories are great.
I wish they made the exception and had Pete open a 2nd pack of cards because his stories were so rich. Pete knows a story on just about everybody ............UPDATE: Ooops, i started typing this comment 1min too early.lol....cool they did. This Pete Rose one was one of the best segments of this show
I want Pete Rose’s memory.
To pick Tim Flannery’s batting picture out as wrong is classic.
The case for Pete Rose to be in the HoF as a PLAYER is because he bet on baseball while he was a MANAGER. I don't get how they can negate a player's career because of something done after retiring from playing baseball.
Michael Huebner Michael Jordan bet on basketball as a player. He got a hush hush suspension so he could “play baseball”
Hell of a memory he’s got!
This just puts a smile on my face
When I was kid I remember cracking open so many of those packs of cards.
This man loves this sports , show him the same love MLB!!!!!!
"I think the gum came from '86." That's hilarious!
Amazing...needs to be in the Hall Of Fame
Charlie Hustle
Officially Thee Best Name Ever.
Saw on another interview with him that nickname was given to him by Mickey Mantle during a spring preseason game at Lockhart stadium in Ft Lauderdale
Maxwell fart knocker
Nice!
The MicK gave him the illest nickname ever created.
Go figure
Agree on Dawson. Probably the best all around player I ever watched.
Pete should be in the HOF, no question to me.
Roids
Huge Pete Rose fan here! This was awesome!
👍😎
Best episode by far.
What a cool guy..love how he enjoyed that. I could watch him open packs all day!
