    Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I fondly remember The Evil Touch when I was a kid. I especially remember the episode 'Scared to Death' when it first aired back in '73 - it literally almost scared ME to death with that ending. In fact I never forgot it, and finally got to see it again thirty years later. Well, let's just say it didn't have quite the same effect on me as it did when I was 8 yrs old, but nonetheless I still enjoyed it. I'm glad you've found and are putting out some of these lost episodes, as I have some memories of a few of them which I haven't seen on UA-cam yet. I seem to remember one which had a phony seance element to it, but so far no luck in finding that one. Thanks again!

      I'm glad you're enjoying my uploads of THE EVIL TOUCH. More are definitely coming, including an upgraded print of "Scared to Death." I've seen every episode of ET, but can't recall one with a seance (fake or otherwise). Of course, that's a very common element in horror television. Just off the top of my head, I can think of such storylines on JOURNEY TO THE UNKNOWN and 13 DEMON STREET.

    I've had a recurring nightmare my entire life about this episode. I was 4 years old and completely traumatized by this in the early 70s. It's been fun revising it... its still as terrifying as I remembered.

    Many thanks for posting this! I haven't seen this episode since the '70s. I love the idea of an actor 's imagination bringing the Creature to life. I just wish the Creature's reveal didn't look like the guy was being choked by a hairy Muppet. But, still, a classic episode.

    I remember seeing this episode in 1973 when I was seven years old. Even though I didn’t completely understand it, I did the best I could to tell my first grade class about it. According to the monster’s silhouette, it looks a lot like Chewbacca.

      Nope. Video came from a 1980s commercial VHS release in Italy back in the 1980s. There's a free extension in Google Chrome called Video Download Helper. It will enable you to capture my video straight from YT.

      Sadly, no, the series was never released on DVD. If someone were to release it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The only home video release I'm aware of was done back in the mid 1980s ... in Italy. Six episodes were released on VHS, with audio in Italian.

      @@Spiritgumm The video is from the Italian VHS release. The accompanying audio is from a very low quality home VHS capture. I've been working hard to synch up the English audio to the Italian video. Hopefully someday a truly high quality set of this series will be released. That's correct. Neither is truly lost, as the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia holds 16mm prints of both. But no copies are in general circulation. Also, the circulating copy of "Never Fool with a Gypsy Ikon" is cut for syndication, so a few minutes of it are still missing.

    You've said that some of your uploads were copied from Italian vhs tapes in Italian audio, so how do they have English audio? Asking because I was thinking of searching for the tapes, but they'd be useless without English audio.

      @@Spiritgumm Yes, there was an incompatibility issue between the two recordings (difference in frame rates). The video source was an Italian PAL recording converted to NTSC. The audio was from an Australian source. I had to make multiple adjustments to get the two to line up.

      @@maljardin4251 The result was great, I wouldn't have guessed. I'm asking in part because you only find the same episodes among trader collector groups, and I wondered why this (and your other rare titles) never showed up. Then again, the Italian tapes were available and those never showed up. I don't suppose your source belongs to a trading group?

    • @maljardin4251
      @maljardin4251  Рік тому

      @@Spiritgumm I've learned over the years that there's a big difference between what is in common circulation among traders' groups and what is out there in the wild. You just have to dig a LOT harder. I just obtained six episodes recorded on Beta circa 1985 in Japan. Oddly, it's a bilingual broadcast, so episode titles are in Japanese, but audio is in English. The batch includes a full-length copy of the episode starring Ralph Meeker. The only copy of that one in common circulation is cut for syndication, missing about 3 minutes.
