@@fizzlemynizzle9587 yeah, people are really not smart when it comes to wildlife. They try to get selfies with them and try to pet them 🙄. Like they’re wild animals let them live in peace
When I was visiting Yellowstone me and my family went there and right as we were leaving someone told us a story about how someone took his dog there and the dog ran into the hot spring died almost immediately then the man tried to get his dog then he died almost immediately
1.) dogs are supposed to be leashed jn most areas of most national parks; 2.) in Yellowstone, dogs aren’t permitted in the geothermal areas like this, even with a leash.
Never heard this..heard one back in early 90sbut no cell phones .incident a males dog ran in to pool started screaming guy ran after dog both literally turned to soup

I've been hot potting there for years. Not in the easily accessible pools, there's a more obscure pot a decent hike from Biscuit Basin. The water is about 100*. Otherwise there's is one where you can sit in the overflow into Firehole River.
To be fair, some national parks do openly encourage trailblazing (I’ve done this in both Joshua Tree and Theodore Roosevelt just this past year), but in one like Yellowstone, particularly in the the geothermal areas, one is simply a fool if they do so.
Videos like that should be released every one needs to see that man woman or child. Maybe just maybe then everyone will smarten the f up. And not just most of us but all
I just left Yellowstone and it’s not really related to this BUT when my family and I went to go see old faithful (kinda boring) then we went to beehive geyser and while it was shooting up the water got inside my mouth and Fr thought I was gonna die😭

It ain’t the parks fault for them deliberately starting from established paths which are clearly marked do some stupid challenge, he did that on his own accord and it was by no means Yellowstone’s fault for the incident.

Not quite. The guy made it back to shore, now blind and boiled, and said "well i guess that was a stupis decision". He died soon after.

The trail is there for a reason.. I feel for the dude and his family but why would he do this?

Death from hot springs in Yellowstone National Park happen a lot sadly
Why can’t I find a single video of it actually happening then 🤔
I've been hot potting there for years. Not in the easily accessible pools, there's a more obscure pot a decent hike from Biscuit Basin. The water is about 100*. Otherwise there's is one where you can sit in the overflow into Firehole River.
I find that so not true. But nice story.
My sister was born on June 7 2016
We were just there last week and this is beyond comprehension
Same. If we’re filming that happening to someone I wouldn’t just NOT post it. Like seriously?!? Beyond comprehension indeed.
It's unbelievable the stupid things people do to themselves.
Like filming someone boiling in a hot spring and NOT posting it?!? Seriously why’d you even keep filming for then?
You can't fix stupid..how do you want your human..well done please stay on the trail

Yeah, the ground is super unstable there. Even the trails can sometimes be taken out by a new hot spring from underneath.
Just standing in fromt of it its so hot they had to build a bridge over the ground, because its too hot to walk on
See good things still happen every now and again.
i like stories like this....
