Hi Father - seems hard to dispute that he was a Freemason. Do you know where I can find a source about him being a 33rd degree Mason? I’ve seen this question pop up a time or two, and would love to have a source to recommend for someone.
He wasn’t really hiding it. According to a listing of famous Greek Freemasons on the official website of the Grand Lodge of Greece(Megali Stoas Tis Ellados), Meletios is listed as a Freemason in the Lodge “APMONIA”(HARMONY).
Russian Wikipedia has a link to a lodge claiming him its member - which, I know, is still not a definite proof. In my view, AHEPA is bad enough (I had no idea about the organization until my son received invitation to its boy branch "Sons of Pericles" from someone at our church.) What indirectly convinced me was an obituary of a late president of a Greek parish near me (I don't see why they would lie in an obituary) praising the deceased as a ranking member of both AHEPA and F.-M.; after finding that out, I realized that Constantinople Patriarchate is ripe with that stuff. A few years later, His All Holiness initiated a schism, and that was when I no longer could remain a member. If I sound bitter it's because my wound still bleeds.
@@vsevolodtokarev Yes, it was well known back in the day; I believe that even Saint Paisios said this about Meletios. I have no doubt that many of today's bishops are freemasons. This is why great saints such as Saint Porphyrios said that God will take care of His ship (the Church) and change the crew (the clergy) during the events that are coming, like war, governments being overthrown, etc. There will be big, big changes. Lord, have mercy on all of us. There is no doubt that the Church will be victorious. Stay in the Church. You can change jurisdictions or priests if you wish, but stay in the canonical Church. We go for Christ, and not the clergy. Have patience, because everything will be solved soon.
@@ivansince91 Thank you for your concern, brother. Of course I am staying in the Church, and out of the schism; I found refuge at an Antiochian parish. Still miss the Greek parish and its excellent priest.
It is not. The new hop back on the old calendar for Pascha because of the fear of their condemnation of the church fathers and lack of confidence of being in the new calendar. They have guilty conscience for betraying the church calendar.
No, not that one. the one for whom the Gregorian calendar is named. "The Gregorian calendar is the calendar used in most parts of the world.[1][a] It went into effect in October 1582 following the papal bull Inter gravissimas issued by Pope Gregory XIII, which introduced it as a modification of, and replacement for, the Julian calendar." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar
Can Pascha fall on the 26 of April according to the Typicon and the Orthodox tradition, and what Typicon do you use? aI am interested only about 26 of April, since Orthodox Paschalion doesn't include that day because of the formula that was created, but will it be a violation if we celebrate Pascha on this day, according to the Julian Calendar!
Thank you, father !
Father, thank you for this video, it is comforting to hear your words about the old and new calendars of the church.
I'm a Catechumen and I'm fascinated by the rich history and complexity of the Church. I love your videos.

Why is Orthodox Easter celebrated on the same day with the new and old calendar?
