Here in Tulsa, we have a whelen siren system consisting of mostly wps 2910's, wps 4004's and about 60 3016's in the process of being replaced by the 2910's
ukickmeikicku These are electronic. Just a bunch of really powerful speakers with a few really powerful amplifiers. No moving parts other than the rotating mechanism.
Bungholio Also it would damage the speakers because they are not designed to play anything below like 400HZ. So playing full-range music through these drivers would be bad.
Er meh gerd it haz teh 864 ESC controller controller and on teh 710 HZ tones! Personally, meh favorite tonez are 465 Hertz, hertz, and hertz. It haz 4 ampz. I love da watts. Gawd I wish Whelen would bring bak der old sirens. Whelens yukkie. .....What I meant to say was, very good video. It's been a while since anyone has recorded a still-original setup of a WPS-3000. And awesome that you got a 4 minute or so test in too, normally we only see 1 minute blasts.

how do these sirens work? they dont have the spinning parts like the old ones right? i cant see where they would fit on this type of siren.

Every single Whelen siren seems to do a 360 then do a 360 in the opposite direction. Why is this?

How powerful is each driver?
100 watts. 100 watts x 16 drivers = 1,600 watts. it is the same volume as a vortex r4 or a wps 4004 just with 4x as many drivers.
Calvin Mayer You're allergic to sirens.
