This album was everything! People were skeptical but as always Bey shut them down! People seem to forget that every genre of music was founded by African Americans! As usual Bey understood the assignment, people don't give her credit for being a student of music and actually incorporate different sounds from the past and make it work for her style is amazing! I really like Cowboy Carter. It kind of feels like growing up and living in the South and country as a Black person. American Requiem, Blackbird, Protector, Daughter, II Most Wanted, Spaghetti, Desert Eagle, RIIverdance, YaYa, Flamenco, Sweet Honey Buckin, Tyrant, and Amen. I like how Amen ties back into American Requiem also. The songs on the album flow very well together for Act II. I'm definitely ready for Act III, whenever she wants/decides to release it, possibly being rock!

Ever since she announced this album I’ve been trying to get more acquainted to country music because like you said, I don’t hear that often in Chicago if I’m not actually looking for it EARNESTLY! I made a whole Pandora station based on the only country artist I knew I liked which is Chris Stapleton. Of course I love Faith, Shania and The Chicks but I wanted to learn something new. So everyday in the shower I was being introduced to all these bluesy artists with romantic ass lyrics and I was like damn this just R&B with a twang! I’m still sitting with the album but my favorites so far is Levii Jeans
I love that Beyonce doesn't stay stagnant with her music!!! Regardless of whether people like or listen to Act II, it's forced them to realize that there is room for everyone in any music genre!!!

The media tends to criminally underrate and disregard her when speaking about influence and setting records. Black Cat not only went to #1 on the Hot 100, but made the top ten on the Rock charts, which was unheard of at the time for a black artist, male or female. It also received a Grammy nom for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, making her the only artist in history to receive noms across 5 different genres: Pop, Dance, R&B, Rap and ROCK.

This project hopefully will encourage to people to really listen to lyrics and not just the beat. And reclaim the stolen legacy of country music who's roots are in African folk music and work songs.

When Olivia Newton John did her Country Music the folks In Nashville didn’t like her either. And she’s white. I’m guessing it was her Australia accent or something? I remember Dolly and Loretta Lynn welcomed her though when some of the older country acts didn’t. Anyway. I love Beyoncé’s take on Jolene. Love the way she changed the lyrics. The whole album is a music masterpiece though in my opinion. I love Loretta Lynn ever since I read her book back in the early 80s. Coal Miners Daughter was so good. So yea I been a country fan for years. It’s great to hear Beyonces version of country music.

I love the whole album. I will probably be playing it as much as Renaissance. Actually will more than likely playing them both back to back. I’m hoping this help people to discover other Black Country artist. Tanner is so awesome. Like you, I don’t want to hear about a tour until next year. It's so interesting how different life is for all of us, I feel the exact opposite of what you stated about the Act 1 vs Act 2 comparison at the top of the vid. I didn't care for Renaissance honestly. But everyone has the right to their opinion respectfully.
I am no Beyonce stan but I like Beyonce's music. I didn't care too much for Renaissance but once i heard something country was coming i was genuinely excited. After hearing it once I AM HERE FOR IT. I love 16 Carriages, Texas Hold Em, Jolene, Blackbiird, Yaya, American Requiem and Bodyguard!!
This is me exactly. I liked Renaissance “ok.” And I don’t really know Beyoncé’s work after her second album. But I’ve already listened to cowboy Carter at least 4-5 times start to finish. It’s that good to me!
Act 1 took me a year to get into… I needed the concert and live performances to appreciate the album. This album… I need the visuals but I willl try to listen again. But it did not pass my gym test.

The beginning really hit when you in your feelings. But I agree I enjoyed the second half of the album after Texas hold em. She had me ready to gig with river dance

Act I was enjoyable, but not my favorite ! But Act II really blew me away
I’m glad she made this album, because this album has songs that I’m so happy to add to my playlists. Levii’s Jeans, spaghetti, II most wanted, & tyrant all 🔥. However, I don’t think anything will top Renaissance for me and I don’t need it to. That album was made for me, so I’m just going to enjoy this era but my holy trinity (top 3) aren’t moving 🤷🏽♀️ Love her deep though ❤

Pink never wanted to go rnb she was forced to. Released herself from the shackles and been making her rock/pop ever since. I’m not listening but good for her 😂
My favorite is Texas Hold them & the duet with Miley Cyrus & Post Malone I didn’t know he can sing Jolene is ok & I have more to listen to but overall she’s our hometown girl we Houston proud❤️❤️👏👏👍👍

How would you guys feel if Beyonce did opera ? I thought after act I , act II was going to be opera. Act III rock . I always felt like Beyonce could do opera if she wanted too.
Beyonce has a thing when she does other music, her voice sounds the same.. artists like rihanna or taylor .. switch generes flawlessly
