      I was thinking the same when I recently found his videos. Pking is such a serious topic. A lot of well known youtubers made their version of a "how to pk" and they all fell short in so many areas.
      This creator seems to be consistently focusing on each mechanic to learn and bringing it to us in a high energy engaging way:p

      But then you have to move farther to make you clicks putting you at a disadvantage. Might as well just be in full screen resizable at that point. You can go to rune light settings and change the resolution. So long as it’s a multiple of the original it will look fine. Still keep aspect ratio and integer scaling on. This way you can have a slightly larger client but not give up the shorter click distances.

    Just to clarify somethings on dpi if anyone’s interested:
    1. The measure of DPI is dots per inch. What it really means is how many pixels you travel per inch of mouse movement. 1000dpi = 1000 pixels traveled by moving your mouse one inch.
    2. If you are switching monitors you want to consider the Pixels Per Inch (PPI) when adjusting DPI or resizing your game client. The example below will demonstrate what I mean:
    I have a 1080p(1920X1080)px monitor on a 17.3’ monitor. That works out to approx 127.34 pixels per inch.
    Now I switch to a 1440p(2560X1440)px monitor on a 27’ screen. That works out to roughly 108.79px per inch.
    On the lower res 17’ screen, at a 1000dpi, moving my mouse 1’ to the right will move the cursor 7.86’ on the screen.
    On the higher res 27’ screen moving my mouse, at a 1000dpi, 1’ to the right will move the cursor 9.19’ on the screen.
    To compensate on the higher res 27’ screen I can either increase my runelite client size proportionately to compensate for the larger physical distance traveled on the screen OR decrease my DPI so I can keep the same client size as my 17’ screen.

    I have a 24" monitor I use 3600 dpi on 7th bar mouse speed with enhanced precision off. I use a tezmos rgb wired USB mouse and key board. Pking is better on fixed because you have less travel distance between items in your inventory and the player you are fighting. The larger your screen, the higher mouse speed you will need and better hand eye mind coordination skills. Dpi settings allow your mouse to move more pixels across the screen at a time. So your best experimenting with low to medium settings. I met a guy running 400dpi he said. I could not kill him. He had perfect switches lol he did not say monitor size

      that is wildly incorrect. just based on 720p which is 921,600 pixels and 1080p which is 2,073,600 pixels that should tell you just how wrong that statement is. please remember, DPI is based on pixel density of the resolution you are playing on; 3000 dps is going to be insanely different based on a 720p monitor and a 4k monitor

    • @mat_tf2
      @mat_tf2 3 роки тому

      @@ImAlsoBen that is placebo. your cursor seems faster because your entire screen is more zoomed in on lower res, including your cursor. if what you say was the case then everybody who plays csgo stretched would be using different dpi compared to people who play in 16:9

      @ImAlsoBen  3 роки тому

      @@mat_tf2 no. literally, technically, objectively, quantifiably scientifically, mechanically, computer science; it matters. please look up what DPI means and how resolution effects it. you are wrong. the reason most people have the same dpi for csgo is because the standard for 88% of gamers is still 1080p which is fullscreen. osrs is WILDELY different

    You bought an entire monitor for playing the game instead of playing the the aspect ratio settings in runelite? Then you fucked your mouse sensitivity to compensate for this bad decision? Yeah I can’t recommend that anyone does this. I’m also pretty sure you have a fundamental misunderstanding how dpi works.
    Use what ever monitor you have. Go to the stretched resolution plugin. Select “keep aspect ratio” and “enable integer scaling”
    Go to base runelite settings.
    Change aspect ratio to something more suitable. So long as you pick a multiple of the original ratio the pixels shouldn’t appear stretched. If you’ve done everything correctly you should now have a fixed mode box that’s slightly larger than normal but not so large that you give up the advantage of having to move your mouse less to make accurate clicks. (Also without having to double your dpi. Lmao what terrible advice to give to people.)
    If you’ve done everything correctly you can go ahead and lock your window size so you don’t accidentally full screen again. You can also make it so you can move the client incase you accidentally click the border mid fight. Hope this helps!

    • @ImAlsoBen
      @ImAlsoBen  Рік тому

      Yeah, suggesting people artificially blow up the res of the game destroys the quality. Despite what settings you apply this will forever be worse than natively having it at a lower resolution. The rest could only apply if you played runescape in full screen, which is not the case in this video. Misleading comments 2/10

    • @JustHereForTheDialogue
      @JustHereForTheDialogue Рік тому

      @@ImAlsoBen in what way does it destroy the quality? My screen looks perfectly clear. You’re out here telling people to fuck with their sensitivity which is terrible for muscle memory. Consistency is key and playing with your mouse sense is awful advice. 1600 dpi? Like what even is the native dpi of your mouse? You clearly don’t have a clue what you’re talking about my guy…you are a good pker. Far better than I. But you are talking out of your ass when it comes to resolutions and dpi…
      Edit: yes it’s technically full screen but the idea is you are changing the resolution of the client to be larger than fixed, yet smaller than full screen. If the resolution you pick is a multiple of the original…than no your quality won’t be “destroyed.” You don’t know what you’re talking about my guy.

      @ImAlsoBen  Рік тому

      @@JustHereForTheDialogue you just implied a mouse has a native DPI lmao

    • @JustHereForTheDialogue
      @JustHereForTheDialogue Рік тому

      @@ImAlsoBen are you implying that there isn’t? Bruh. You can only raise your dpi so high before you mouse is skipping pixels. 1600 sounds like it could be within the range depending on your mouse but it also sounds very high for most mice.
      You act like I’m the idiot and you you seem you think sensitivity works different in different resolutions? Like bruh please talk out of your ass more. Your curser is moving the same distance in that sense. You’ve just changed the size of the screen you are moving it across so it looks like the same movement is going further on a smaller resolution. Your sensitivity does not change in that case and telling people to ruin their muscle memory due to your fundamental misunderstanding of the concept is terrible advice…

    • @JustHereForTheDialogue
      @JustHereForTheDialogue Рік тому

      @@ImAlsoBen have you ever even used integer scaling? The difference i quality is extremely minimal. I’d argue a extremely minor difference in picture is much better than throwing off your muscle memory by fucking with your sensitivity. It’s like rule number one with being consistent in pc games. Use DPI within your mouse’s native range that feels comfortable to you, and then basically never change it ever again.
      Edit: yeah I think you misunderstood my issue with your advice. The monitor thing is a fine idea although a waste of money IMO. Changing your sense is just stupid and arguably pointless
