- Forever in His Presence - Part 3
My latest message in the series “Forever in His Presence,” reminds us that with God, there’s no musical chairs - no bouncing in and out of fellowship - and no mood swings!
As we dive deeper, you’ll find yourself anchored in the truth that you already know God, even when you wish you felt or “experienced” more with Him.
We’ll also radically rethink the term “antichrist” and better understand what John is really talking about - and it’s not what you grew up hearing!
Don’t miss this one. It’s a lot of fun!
Discussion Questions:
1. Why is verse 12 written to “little children” with a past tense verb such an important marker of transition from chapter 1? (Hint: Consider 1 John 1:9).
2. Verses 13-14 emphasize that we already know God. How can this encourage you when you’re wishing you felt more or “experienced” more with God?
3. How might verses 18-22 radically change the way we use the term “antichrist” compared with the common use of the term today?
4. Read verse 24. Recall the best understanding of “abiding in Christ.” How does this passage affirm the truth about abiding?
5. Verse 25 holds a promise for us related to the truthfulness of God. What is it? How does it relate to our security with God?
6. Verses 26-27 reveal that one purpose for John’s letter is to contrast believers and deceivers. How does this give us more fuel for understanding 1 John 1:9 and its surrounding verses?
7. Read verses 28 and 29 and react to this statement: I can have confidence upon Jesus’ return because I am born of God and as righteous as He is!

Hallelujah, eternal life I will have in Christ Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus, thank for loving me first, thank you for saving me. I give my all to you Jesus. And Lord Jesus, thank you for Paster Andrew, please continue to strengthen him to spread your good news.
Thank you Dr Farley, glad to have found your clear and concise maeeage!
Great message, thank you Pastor Andrew.
He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. (1 Corinthians 6:17)
Either people are in Adam and away from God, or in Christ and become close enough to God.
@@daniellim8964 Amen the 2 sides that God talked about of Light and Darkness. You look at what was written about the ten commandments being our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith amen to that Truth.
Brother Andrew, that was by far the BEST SERMON I have ever heard.
Who’s the man of lawlessness and is he not anti christ in his belief? Who’s the one who will sit in the temple and demand to be worshipped and will lead a million man army to slaughter? Who is the one who will in the physical lead satans children to destruction? If all of revelation is past then why does Christ come later after all that horrible tribulation that already took place? Serious questions.
Check out The antichrist and the second coming , volume 1(daniel) and volume 2(revelation) by duncan Mckenzie..potentially gamechanging.
Cheers
This is extraordinarily poor teaching by Andrew and others. Really sad given the times we are in.
How he and others can understand grace so well, but then fail here in regards to end times, absolutely baffles me.
☹️✝️☹️
I agree with both of you. Shocking how well Andrew understands Grace yet falls woefully short on end of time teaching. Revelation can be some up as in “what was” chapters 1 & 2, “what is” 3 & 4 and “what is to come” 5-20. Andrew is a great teacher. I pray that to that degree like many a great teacher he can consider what may be a short coming and dig deeper into the book of revelation. He has eyes to see. I believe that whole heartedly. Likewise, if I am off mark I pray the Holy Spirit shows me. God bless.
@@MakeRoomForGodHe is incomplete as a pastor as are 95 percent of all the others.
I remember when 'the antichrist' was going to be Henry Kissinger.😅
✟
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1 (KJV)
Doesn't really change much regarding the Antichrist. The verse affirms there is an Antichrist to come, just as there are many lesser antichrists around. And the "anti" can mean both "instead of", or "against".
Amen
Those of you who are Critic Keyboard Warriors, why don’t you set up your own UA-cam and preach God’s Word, since you have a lot to say! Or perhaps you already do. Pastor Andrew is doing a very good job at preaching God’s Word in the confine space of time he has to do so. If you do not like his teaching, perhaps listen to someone else! Just a thought.
With all due respect my friend, I think you are lacking discernment on this issue).
To say all these events have already taken place makes no sense in the totality of Scripture and the promises yet to come (especially in regards to Israel). He is not done with Israel. Scripture is clear on that. That is what those last 7 years are about (Romans 11, Zechariah 12, 14, Daniel 7, 10, 12, Ezekiel 38 and 39, not to mention basically Revelation 4-22, just to list some). To say that Jesus is already ruling with an iron scepter? That satan is currently "bound"? My friend, that is ignoring what has been, what is, and what's going to happen in this Christ rejecting world shortly. I just don't get it.
Who were the two witnesses (as we should know if they've already appeared)? Who was the false prophet and when did he reign down fire? When did all the water in the world turn to blood (and folks were forced to drink it)? When did all the sea life die? When was the narrative written of a third of the grass and trees burned up? What was the mark and when did "everyone" have to take it? Where are the writings of the sores people got that rejected the mark? What about the 100 lb hailstones (seems like someone would've noted that back then if it had happened)? How did everyone in the world see the two witnesses resurrect as there was not technology to do so and probably not even yet? When was every mountain moved? Globally, when has it cost a days wage for a loaf of wheat bread?
I could go on and one, but I digress.
Look around man. Reread these verses below. The vast majority of churches are Laodicean, all the things we were told below are happening as we were specifically told they would in the "last days" (not my words but the Holy Spirit's). Not to mention what's setting up in Israel in as far the temple and preparing for sacrificing a spotless red heifer (of which they have 3 or 4 yet):
But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction.
(Jude 1:10)
These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want. (Jude 1:16)
But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. (Jude 1:17-19)
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired.
As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful.
They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:21-32)
Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.
These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth. (1 Timothy 4:1-3)
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:9-10)
You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.
They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”
They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.
And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. (2 Peter 3:3-10)
I get this isn't a salvation issue, but to be teaching this viewpoint at the time of the end, I just don't get my friend. I really don't.
Maranatha all the same as He IS coming back soon!
That was excellent. You laid it out perfectly. I would love a copy of what you wrote. I sure like Andrew but he is woefully missing the mark on the book revelation.
@@jkdrat1 Absolutely feel free to.

People who want new ways to live sinful lifestyles are not believers, but 1John is about people who misinterpret sin and did not confess their need for Christ.
@@daniellim8964 Not sure what that has to do with the above, but let's check you confess your sin vs the totality of scripture to be forgiven (to be "born again" as one must be to inherit the Kingdom - John 3:3):
"But to all who BELIEVED him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn-not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God." (John 1:12-13)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who BELIEVES in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)
Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE in Him whom He sent.”(John 6:28-29)
"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and BELIEVES in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
"I tell you the truth, anyone who BELIEVES has eternal life." (John 6:47)
And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. (Acts 16:30-33)
"To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever BELIEVES in Him will receive remission of sins.” (Acts 10:43)
"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you up be saved. For with the heart one BELIEVES unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever BELIEVES on Him will not be put to shame.” (Romans 10:9-11)
(my emphasis on the above)
I believe it's quite clear what we need to do about the sin debt each of us has, and that's to BELIEVE in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins (Metanoia or a "change of mind" from unbelief to belief). Putting our FAITH in Him by His shed blood on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), exchanging His perfect life for ours, and with that, we will live with Him forevermore.
Jesus' isn't interested in a co-signer for your sin. It's belief and trust in Him 💯 for your salvation or not at all.

The fact is, God gave national Israel a 40 year probation, after Jesus death and resurrection. They had 40 years to repent and accept Jesus. But the majority not only rejected Jesus, but worse, they persecuted and killed Jewish Christians, just like they did with Jesus and the OT prophets. The NT says they filled up the measure of their father by killing the Son of God and worse, rejecting His salvation. With God finally judging and destroying unbelieving national Israel in 70 AD.
Read Josephus on how terrible was that AD 70 judegement was. At least 1 million Jews were killed then, and most of them from famine and Civil War, and only some from the Romans. The abomination that causes desolation in the holy place was the Roman army in Judea. Not the Romans in the temple. Otherwise how would the Jewish Christians be able to flee Judea and Jerusalem? They were not under judgement, and Jesus warned the to flee before the Romans finally destroyed Jerusalem.
From a salvation perspective, God's plan with national Israel is complete. Jesus and salvation came from national Israel,.but now we have a much better thing....the Kingdom of God....aka the Christian Church.
All of Israel will be saved.....which means spiritual Israel...that is the overall Christian Church.
Will national Israel have some part in end times...that appears likely as they exist now. But it's an apostate nation. We will see what will happen with them. Let's remember, they've had 2000 years to believe. 13:10
Hey brother, I've heard you say before that you weren't even very interested in end time events. That's a shame because end time events include Jesus coming for His church. It is the culmination of our salvation. Please, don't use end times names and terms such as "antichrist" for clickbait when you admittedly don't even know or care about end time prophecy.
Be nice, so long as Pastor Andrew is preaching God’s Word, he nor anyone else need be dictated to, as per your statement, as to how God’s Word is preached! We are here to listen & learn God’s Word, not to criticise!
Your Grace message is very good but your prophecy understanding is way off. Dont know what turned you away from clear fact that there is a Book of Revelation that correlates to all of the OT prophets and the majority have NOT been fulfilled. AntiChrist is a label given but you're right it's only in John...but doesn't take away from the fact the Man of Sin will enter the Holy of Holies and declare he is God ... that's one of thousands of unfulfilled prophecies.
That prophecy won't be filled until after the rapture. Nothing else has to take place before the rapture. More prophesies will be full filled when we're gone
@barryst.pierre167 I totally agree with you. The Man of Sin, popularly known as the Antichrist, will step out of the shadows at the moment or shortly after the Rapture. Then 3.5 yrs of razzle dazzle deception...then he can't contain himself any longer and he goes into the rebuilt Temple Holy of Holies and declares himself to be God! Then the Great Tribulation occurs. The False Prophet will also of course be in full swing too. Glad I won't be here, but truly desire that people would turn before it cost them their lives unlike anytime in history in the whole world not just here and there where it happens now. They'll have 144000 Apostle Paul's (on fire) scattered around the world so it will be turned upside down like never before as well...grace will abound during Jacob's Trouble.
