Anyone who lives within 100 miles of a similar national forest even if you dont camp needs to check these spots out whether to picnic, walk trails or to just sit and watch nature for two hours. The experience will enrich your life beyond measure.
That water running down those steps and the turtles were so awesome. I love the water. It soothes my soul. When Im at the beach I think of nothing but the goodness of God and all his amazing creations. Im at one with the beach 😊😊😊😊

It is always great to travel with friends and find new and exciting things.... but also to be able to share them so others can appreciate them uniquely!!
If you enjoyed the waterfall, oh my goodness, you were definitely going to enjoy some of the things we have coming up. I can say this now because I always post a little bit out of real time for safety but what we saw after this over the next few days is nothing short of incredible.
You know what I appreciate about you and Riley the most is that you all get out there and actually show the things that you’re doing. I was looking at some channels this week because I had a little bit of extra time and I noticed that most of the people that I found when you type Vanlife fit into two categories, those who do and those who sit. There are a lot more people who sit and it is boring to me. Travel in a van isn’t supposed to be just sitting in the desert and rotting. You can do that in a house. I understand there are some people who can’t afford to travel and those people make sense but if you have a base camp and you just go out to the desert and sit and don’t do anything. I’m just going to expect that you’re trolling people to believe that you’re doing something that you’re not. What is the point of being in a van? The fact that you and Riley have shown that it’s hard sometimes but found something like this and shared it along the way you continue to share other things that you saw makes me like you both of you even more. A lot of people could take some notes from you and maybe be less boring. I’m not going to mention names, but some of them. I know that you know you would have to.
My goal on the channel has always just been to encourage people to get out there and see the places around them. Whenever I started doing UA-cam, it was Shelly for the purpose of encouraging people within my age demographic to see that there was way more to life than most of them will give credit, however, along the way, I started to become more and more excited about all of the adventure side, so I don’t sit still very often and I know that part drives some people crazy however I’m glad to see there are others out there who really appreciate the movement and understand the adventure Time I usually sit still whenever I have to take care of business and that will continue to be so. There are going to be times when I met my Basecamp, but whenever I am, I try to be honest and communicate that so that people can see that it’s OK to travel in different ways and there is not one set way to adventure, I hope that that encourages people to realize that even if they can’t full-time that they can have a wonderful quality of life on the road through how they choose to adventure, but I would never want somebody to think that they can’t be a part of my channel just because, they don’t travel the same way so it’s a fine line lol
Thank you so much. I wanted to make sure I kept as much of this location intact as is, but just sharing the beauty of it and not necessarilyW talking however I did know that it was important for people to have the basic information so I did so in a way that was simplistic as possible
Thank you for the little bit of peacefulness. I just closed my eyes and listened to the night sounds, so had to rewind the video to watch it. I appreciate you sharing your travels, while I’m stuck at home.
I was just talking to Riley about doing more of these styles of relaxing videos here and there just to help people understand the level of peace we find there. I really enjoy sharing educational places but every so often just taking a breath in nature is nice to revisit. Filming how I feel or explore a place sometimes isn't top priority because I want people to have their own experience but in doing so it creates just calm moments like these.
Tannehill is another place to visit in Alabama. If you go there, drive to the top of the hill. There is a small chapel and people buried in the churchyard that were killed in Indian conflicts in the 1700’s.
I checked that one out on another adventure a few videos back.. super amazing place to visit to get some new brain wrinkles by learning about the history of the area
I am so glad I could share this especially after all the challenges in Alabama.... I hope with this video not only do people see this epic site but also realize the struggle of planning and finding is totally worth it!!
So many great things there camping is just a bit of a challenge for a new comer... so now that we found this i am soooo at peace and happy to have so many things to explore in the area!! also this allows me to keep this one on my list for the future
I’m so excited that you will be going there. I think you will absolutely love it. It’s a wonderful place to visit for sure and staying in a hotel in my opinion is definitely the best just for not having to deal with all of the headache of getting out to the campgrounds And being able to enjoy the city itself but also being able to not have to compete for spaces since it is so busy. Make sure you check into their shuttle system/trolley system.
Yay! What a find! I'm so happy you found a nice place there and so freaking cheap! And it is such a nice site! I will add this to my road atlas. Lol when I watch videos that share places I would like to camp at in the future I make a note on the map of the state it is in. It's pretty full. Lol I've noticed not as many share now because of how they find sites and I don't blame them. It's sad that all of humanity can't seem to appreciate the very thing that provides us life on all levels. Happy trails!
This was ouir goal to find something like this. A bit more remote, a bit more off the beaten path and not as busy, sometimes state parks get crowded and loud. This was perfection!
www.recreation.gov list federal recreation in considerable detail including prices (if applies) in every state. Most recreation areas include a visitors center offering additional educational experie Rangers on duty 24/7. You can vacation all the way across the nation at a modest cost. If your going budget stop at a 'Ranger Station". They can provide detailed maps and point out "free camping" options suited best for experienced campers with vehicles that can take "rugged" road conditions.
yes that is certainly part of the issue... also it was very damp from being on the ground and a previous rain apparently... when we got to the bottom it was very moist....
So beautiful! I'm so glad you're showing this place.😊 I could sit near that water all day. What a great place to record an audio back drop. Girls here's a tip, cheat and pick up fire starter stix at a Walmart. Forgot how noisy the Spring woods are. How long can you camp there?
I miss watching the food video yesterday or the day before so I am catching up today so I’m watching these out of order. I hope that doesn’t matter. This place looks really beautiful. The green is very vibrant and the sound of the water is really relaxing. Maybe I should take some time to spend places like this.
I found that there were several places in this region that were very nice so I definitely made some notes for the future future of where I will be visiting next time
So glad that we were able to share this and finally found a nice place to camp! There are so many gorgeous spots in this state but camping was the hardest part lol this definitely is a place that going forward. I will plan a bit more instead of doing my typical travel style Adapt you know.
Bunny Robin at creativity RV wrote a book she sells on Amazon about working from home. It's a living book online that she updates with live likes. I don't work but I bought it. I would absolutely buy a similar book from you with links and reviews to all of the cheap places you have stayed. Especially if you keep it updated. You seem to find the best gems.
Yes, I picked these up specifically because so many of my friends that do a lot of outdoor adventuring recommended them for better overall foot health. I was having some lower back pain, which I do struggle with sciatica and I started exploring new shoes that would also be good for the trails and in doing so I looked into these and then asked around and sure enough people said that they would be really good for creating a safer environment for my step. Since I haven’t been feeling the shooting pain in the way that I was so I definitely believe that footwear is worth a good investment
I’m OK with camping at places that have other people that’s not an issue. I just wanted to find a place that wasn’t a parking lot so that we could truly enjoy the nature for at least a few days. That is one of the benefits of traveling kind of in the times is that you get to appreciate a little bit more and see what the nature has to offer during the summer months, you have to go further out or there will be other people around again. I don’t mind other people as long as they’re being polite because I’m always super polite also lol

That park had some beautiful, scenic views, oh wow😮
yes it is so nice!! loved visiting this location and exploring!!
Just beautiful and peaceful. Loved seeing the waterfall. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.

Beautiful campsite. I loved the turtles!
Me too..they just seemed to find a log and collect on it and when we went past it a second time there were even more....
Oooo. I loved Bankhead. Cheaha is another spot in Talladega NP. If you get to Georgia, Providence canyon. Great memories.
I have visited that state park very early on my channel journey and i loved it also!!! the views from that park are epic!
❤Wow Beautiful Wdterfalls🤩👍🇺🇲🙌🙏🇺🇸🌟
I cannot wait to share even more of the beauty around on the next one

That place is amazing but those screechy cricket things would drive me off a cliff!!!!
It wasn't so bad after moving inside for the evening...
Wish there were $5campgrounds out west
There are some more inexpensive sites in National Forests also but you really have to look!!
Happy Saturday! That looks and sounds like a great place!
It was a wonderful place to visit!!!! We loved tihs spot so much!!

I'd heard good things about that campground, so I'm glad to see it. Thank you for showing it. Great video. I'll add this campground to my list.
It is a great one you will love it!!
I love your purple glasses! This campground is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much... i love a good purple moment!!!

Absolutely!!!!
So very beautiful thank you for sharing ❤️ wish you could find those every time
That is life on the road sadly.... some days are great and we find something epic and others we find cracker barrel and have to laugh about it...lol
Go to Cheaha State Park. Highest point in Alabama. Climb the tower. Build by CCC after WW2
I've been and really enjoyed the park especially the boardwalk lookout where you could see Taladaga... the views were incredible there
I'm going to Gatlinburg in the reason. I'm staying at this motel is because of you. Thank you very much.

Where is this Brushy Creek located?
What part of Alabama?
Brush Lake and Brushy Creek are both located in the northwestern portion of the state in the Bankhead National Forest region
. Good info...thanks
