@@Mythraen The difference is this thing could and *would* do it. This is a Pallas Cat, they’re antisocial and aggressive. They live in cold, arid mountains at elevations of 15,000 feet. I’d rather take a house cat, or an ant.

They do this as a way to conserve body heat. They typically live in very cold climates

Usually it’s only big cats with circular pupils this species is a small cat with them.

@@rubik1962no, my siberian does it too. He hates it when I touch his tail and will sit on it with his front paws to tuck it away when I pet it.
Sometimes he forgets he's completely on top of it and will tug on his tail when getting up 🤣
I think it might be some instinctual behaviour to protect his paws from the cold, as his ancestors lived in very cold places.
I don't know if he's actually on his tail or only on the hair, as it's a huge wad of fluff, so it might be pretty comfy actually.
They normally do it when it's really cold and they are on the ground, it's to keep their paws warm but I guess it's also a habit.
