Slot Cars: Plymouth GTX '71 Auto World vs BMW "Beamer" AFX

Having fun with Model Railroad & Slot Car HO Racing Layout: Cars: Plymouth GTX 1971 Auto World Thunderjet Xtraction Ultra G vs BMW "Beamer" M1 AFX Tomy SRT Super Racing Turbo. HO Scale Trains in video: Canadian National CN Fairbanks Morse C-Liner Diesel locomotives (Lifelike) and Rivarossi CN passenger cars. The Canadian National Super Continental. This model train, engines and all cars got soaked in a flash flood several years ago, but they were hosed and brushed and dried, and one engine worked but one did not and got gutted. The train is still a bit water stained and silty, PO car has silt in the inside windows yet. The AFX Tomy car and Auto World cars were fun to run around the track, they stayed on the track very well. The cars had nice range of speeds on the Parma controllers, so they could be slow through the curves and also sprint on straightaways. Slot Car Track layout has been engineered to keeps cars rolling. Track sections have jumper soldered wiring. Also feed wires go to several of these jumper wires. The occasional times car tires lose contact with the pavement is when they get bumped by the other car such as on the squeeze track, or swerve on a curve or go too fast. Video is not at all in order or continuous, the one camera was moved around to eight or more view angles during the race and the clips were edited and intermingled. Canon camera on tripod and the old GoPro camera was strapped on a flat car and pushed and pulled for on board train scenes. Tried to use the slight smaller GoPro 3, but it was not as good sharpness in this video as the gopro5, so I was holding this video almost not going to post it. And with gopro clips, you can't really review them until loaded on the laptop

Forgive me if this is a dumb comment, but the car track looks to me like the pre-AFX Aurora brand my brother had back in the mid-'60s.

There is a mix of Lifelike and AFX track on the layout, but this track is from 1997 and some later. It is said that the track has not changed since the 1960s so your memory is correct.
