Congratulations on your new bike! I have had my steel Bacchetta Giro 26 since 2005...I just got a Bacchetta carbon aero yesterday!! Love these recumbents!!
Its always best to sell the bikes you dont use so others can enjoy cycling. Thought you would get another Bachetta that is more high performance, but I understand dual 700c stick bikes are hard for many people.
Glad you were able to settle on a new recumbent two wheeler. They're getting harder to find these days, as most folks who were riding two wheelers 10 or 20 years ago are now getting tricycles. I still have my Barcroft Virginia that I bought about 13 years ago. Before that I had a Rans V-Rex. Both Barcroft and Rans no longer exist, and Bacchetta sold out last year. If I were to get a new 'bent, I'd probably go for a Lightning P-38, as it's similar to my Barcroft. I am leery of the front wheel drive on Cruzbike cycles. Be curious to hear of your take.
I haven't ridden a Lightning, but looks like a similar geometry to the Bacchetta Giro. But I like how the Lightning appears to allow your entire body to be a few inches lower to the ground than the Bacchetta Giro. I think everyone has the initial minor stress of attempting to ride a Cruzbike, but can be learned in 5 to 10 mins, then you get comfortable in 10 miles or so. They have a 100 mile guarantee, which makes it much easier to make the leap. The Lightning appears to have a comfortable seat also. Happy shopping!
I understand. Lol. I started with an old rescue Turner swb with uss and now I’m riding a vision R40 above seat steering from 2001. It’s good to upgrade. How are you enjoying the front wheel drive? Is it that much different?
Great question! It does not. The "ridges" of the seat design are pliable, so they don't make impressions on your back. I typically wear a rather thin microfiber shirt and it doesn't leave squares.
Hi I have a bacchetta ca3.0 which is very light. Very fast on flat and downhill but to climb its another story. The regular bikes can't follow on flat but they fly on top hill. So is the s40 better for climbing as it's told everywhere. If yes how is it possible because it's heavier. ....
Hi! This is a tough question. But I can provide some insight based on my experience. I agree that weight is a major factor in climbing. I'm not sure how our bikes would compare. The S40 has this ability to generate more power from your legs AND arms working together. But not sure head to head due to that very light weight.

You must be on Cloud 9! That is a nice, fast bike!!
I have a Bacchetta similar to yours, the Cruzbike S40 is my dream bike. Congrats!

Great bike! There is no "bad news" when you have a recumbent ;)
Indeed! Thanks Bent Revolution for setting me up with this awesome recumbent!

My bike mechanics Robert and Jonathan from RoseCityRecumbentCycles in Portland, OR, design frames and components on the Cruz bikes..
Looks amazing. Congratulations! I m sure will have lots and lots of miles.
A belated congratulations on your S40. You're pretty funny to boot! I'm still getting up to speed on my S40. Maybe I'll see you on a trail one day.
Thank you! You'll do great learning the S40. It takes time, but I promise, it will become second nature. And you'll love it!
I'm glad I'm not the only person who starts the morning with a White Russian.
Haha, yes we have good taste. 😆

The front wheel drive took some getting used to, but once I became comfortable with it, I like the slight extra power and climbing ability.
Nice bike!
Does that mesh seat leave squares in your back on a long ride?

Thanks for the answer. Perhaps it will be worth it to ask if anybody have this experience.....
This is all about you right?
