I love these Wednesday night meetings, have been looking for bible study since i became a christian in 2003. I am so blessed to have this available , thankyou so much pastor Gary
As someone who used to be part of that 🔤 community, I can attest that I always felt miserable in that place and only when I confessed my sins and let go off those perversed thoughts did I truly feel clean. God never condones abominations. Do not let people decieve you. Trust the Holy Spirit guidance. What David and Jonathan had was something precious and pure, like Christ love for us. Though Christ love is superior in every form.
thank you for your phenomenal teaching and preaching I am in the last stages of COPD and Im so grateful that I found a true man of the truth please continue to be a blessing as well as your sons in Jesus's name amen
Amazing teaching pastor Gary. Forgiveness and be patient are a challenge in our Christian faith. But it is a must to do it. Wow!! I love listening your teaching, may God bless you.
From Jalisco Mexico. Thank you Pastor Hamrick you help me so much. Thank you for teaching the word of God I am going blind and can no longer read. God bless you and your fellowship your church, the church.
I've been a Christian 35+ years and have read these passages about David & Jonathan many times. Never once did it occur to me that this had anything to do with homosexuality. Never did such a thing enter my mind. It sickens me that people have twisted it in this way. Perverse, wicked people.
QUESTION: Does David's reaction to the Amalekite reflect God's view of assisted unaliving? Saul was suffering, no matter how we feel about the man, no matter that God prophesied his demise to the lying spirit who impersonated Samuel at En Dor. It wasn't clear whether God wanted him to suffer a slow and agonizing death. What if anything can we learn about God's will regarding mercy unaliving?
Several times David says he didnt want to take Saul's life or anyone else to because Saul was appointed by God.. David did not want that sin upon his head. While David was forgiving, his sparing sauls life was more about what he would face from God had he taken Saul's life
Just a question - Chris† forgives us because we repent , trust in Him as our Savior and confess our sins . If someone who sins against us is not repentant , I don’t understand how we are to forgive as related to Chris† forgiving us ?
On the cross God forgave our since through Jesus Christ even before we ask for forgiveness. Grace is a free gift for something we don't deserve. We should do the same to others. Forgive without conditions. God bless you.
I'm troubled by David killing the Amalekite messenger who ran for 3 days to deliver the news of Samuel's death. How was he deserving of death for carrying out Samuel's request for death?
Don't be troubled. This was to be expected because God is just and consistent. No one, absolutely no one was supposed to kill God's annointed. By killing Saul (God's anointed) the young Amalekite committed a forbidden act. Remember, even when Saul was overtly trying to kill David, David refused to kill Saul, whom David called "God's anointed" - despite several opportunities David had to do so. This is almost like God killing the young man who reached and touched the ark of the Covenant to steady the Ark when the young man thought the ark was about to fall off the cart during transport. God's forbade anyone to touch the ark. God's laws are to be obeyed, and disobedience has a price.
This shows some people rewrite the holy bible in their heads to suit their own needs or what they are doing. Seems like their trying to justify what they have done
Yeah, I think Pastor Gary may have misremembered that or maybe another commentator had a different interpretation of the events. However, the last sentence (in my ESV) of 1 Samuel 31:4 says, "...But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it."

Precisely. Only a debased mind would read it and interpret it into something abominal
The scripture clearly states that Saul's armor bearer refused to kill Saul and Saul killed himself.
QUESTION:

Actually it said that Saul "fell on his own sword"
Please share the continuation of chapter 3 and so on. I can't find them.
With kindness: jasher was in the Bible as well as Enoch maccabees etc.
I watch the Samuel sermons and I can't find 2Samuel chapters 23 & 24 that is very disappointing to me. Can anybody help me please

I don't know if the passage is condoning it. Sometimes Scripture just states things.

Armourbearer would not kill Saul. Read 1Samuel 31;4-6. Amalekite was lying in 2Samuel 1;6-10.
I was just going to point that out. Thanks.

Why worry about anything?
You’ll be raptured soon?
