It's simple. Buy a second ps4. Put the first ps4 with the eject problem in the second ps4s box. Then return the broken ps4 and get your money back and now you have a working ps4.
It all depends on when it starts ejecting your disk. If your PlayStation is fully running and has been for a few hours then it will heat up which will expand the rubber underneath the eject button pushing the ejection until it has gone back down to its normal size. If this happens then you should most likely simply take the piece of rubber out from underneath which is a very simply and easy job. This will also occur after use, possibly when you're going to sleep or sleeping as the PlayStation will still be cooling down. You then have to turn it off at the plug or take the power cord out but this will only stop the ejection temporarily. However, if your PlayStation starts ejecting from the moment you turn it on or very soon after you turn it on then it will most likely be the loose screw. If so, do what the brunette Jesus on screen recommends you to do and you should be fine. If it ejects at both occasions, then simply do both. (Or just give the button a dust maybe)

This has helped me out for the second time! Nearly 1 year ago it started happening at night. Took me about 2 weeks to figure what it was because it started gradually. I thought I was going crazy until I realised it was my PS4! Found your video thank God! That was last August/September time and it's just started doing it again. This time I've given the screw a few more turns and all is good again! The difference between me throwing it at the wall or playing many more hours on it. Thanks!
A great video thanks for the info. If I may, however, I would recommend anyone having this issue to first check the rubber footstand thingy on the bottom of the console. It tends to push on the touch-sensitive eject button. If you're like me, you disconnect the AC cord out of the back of the console after use, and to put it back in requires effort and I usually push on the front of the console to help with leverage. This pushes the rubber foot into the eject button. This rubber thing is pretty loose generally, and you can wiggle it out and back a little bit in order to get it away from the eject button (the fact that it's loose is what causes the issue in the first place really). Or you can just remove the rubber strip entirely. And it's a very simple fix; if I can do it, anyone can. So I hope anyone who still has the problem finds their fix either from this video or from this comment. Happy gaming everyone.
Dude, thank you. I would have gone nuts if I hadn't read your comment. It fixed my problem. I can't believe Sony released the console with such a design flaw.
PLSide You're most welcome. Yeah it's a silly thing to go wrong really but it's the typical kind of thing that is missed when they do quality tests. They do these kind of quality tests in an environment that probably doesn't 100% reflect the usage conditions of thousands of customers and they focus on how the console actually runs its games once it's already working (after all, that is what their competition with other consoles is concerned with). Anyway I'm glad you have your issue resolved.
What if youre like me and you ripped the rubber right out and after a month of normality this shit starts ejecting discs again? fuck this shit i want my money back or at least a replacement.
AnGeL MiST I'm sorry you're still having issues with that. It's probably not this, but just make sure the surface you've got the console on is hard and flat, like a desk or a proper shelf; you'd be surprised how many people put it on a soft or cushion-based surface (like the carpet) that still ends up touching that eject button because it manages to squeeze it's way in. Also, even if you've got it on a proper surface, you could try putting something under the four corners of the console in order to lift it up higher; it is possible that the touch-sensitive button is still in close enough vicinity to the surface for it to pick up "contact". If all that is not applicable, if you're willing to give it a go, try the process outlined in this video. It's the only other thing I can think it could be. I've heard other talk of making sure the software is up to date but I imagine most wouldn't have that issue. By all means contact Sony and see what they are willing to do. Just bear in mind that if your warranty has expired the best they will offer you is the chance to pay to send it in so they look at it themselves (if you have an actual physical Sony store near to you, go to them instead. They'll be more co-operative face-to-face). It's debatable if that would even be worth it. And, to be completely honest, it's not even a Sony thing. Any kind of business juggernaut that deals in mass-consumerism, selling millions of things to millions of people, is going to be like this. The problems I had trying to get my phone to work a while ago was unbelievable. I had five different people at three different companies just tell me it wasn't their problem. Anyway, best of luck. I hope you get your console fixed.
Thank you! Slight tightening of the screw helped to remove the issue, at least for now. But you should explain to people that that screw is supposed to feel like it has little to no resistance when you tighten it. Not everyone may realize there is a spring under it meant to allow it to bounce. I think it's supposed to absorb vibrations from the disk drive. People who tighten it should be aware that they must not attempt to keep tightening it until it can't move. That way they could maybe cause more problems. I only did two or three clockwise revolutions and it seems to have fixed the problem.
@Benny Fair fax the fact you call it a gaystation is cringe as fuck, not to mention you thinking your system being so infested with dust it almost overheated and died is Sony's fault lmao
this is literally the only vid that SHOWED me ehere the screw was. everyone just said screw this screw in and it'll be fine and had that zoomed in pic and I'm like "where it at though?" thanks
My disc was stuck and would not eject even after restarting the system.I turned counter clockwise a few turns and pushed eject button and the disc did eject. Your video helped me a great deal thank you !
It's definitely there, it's just hard to spot. Try pointing a flashlight directly down at it where he shows it will be on this video, you'll see it eventually.
It works dude. I just tighten the screw and it works...the disc just don't eject anymore. Thanks dude. God almighty... Ok getting back to fallout 4 now :)
I do 7 until it feels like it tightened. Downloading jump force and it spit my disc out. Shit. Last time i only touch and it didnt feel tightened.. hopefully this works
Jesus Christ, been subscribed to this channel for a year or so I think. Had this problem, and found this video. Seeing a video from 7 years ago is so surreal.
hey hi people i think i found the real problem on the ps4 auto eject, i have made every fix that you have mentioned. You do not need to send it to service. One day i was watching the lead that had a led light that indicates the voltage variation, then i used a multimeter and measured the voltage and it was 122.0 then 122.4 then 122.6 and kept oscillating from 121.8 to 122.6 and i realized that that could be the problem because some devices when are connected to a unstable voltage tend to activate some functions that were not inputed (like the auto eject), so i saw the ps4 specs and the overall Watt consumption of the ps4 was 150W, with that spec you must buy an individual voltaje regulator that has a W capacity higher that 200 because there are some games that require more kw than 150 and if you want to connect a tv and/or ps3 and home theater you must know how much kw consumption every device requires because for example if you connect the ps4 and a tv on a voltage regulator that was 250W of capacity you must consider that the ps4 consumes 150W + the consumption of the tv, if the tv exceeds 100W the voltage regulator will not function correctly because it only manages a maximum of 250W, and then happens the eject problem because of a unstable voltaje. I bought a UPS that is a breaker, surge protector, voltage protector, voltage regulator and it includes a power backup that has batteries and capacitors in order to have the most secure and estable voltage and current with the objective to prevent the ps4 from auto ejecting and any damage.
Thank a lot ! EDDIE DC. I have my PS4 with standing post, so the bottom issue do not apply to me. Also, I do not really want to open my PS4 and touch the screw. Therefore, I tried to found more solutions before I send to the Sony. Finally, I saw your comment and I realised I connected my PS4 with other consoles on the same power extension, so I believe they affect the voltage and make my PS4 keep auto rejecting. Thus, I unplug other devices from the power extension but keep the PS4. Then put the power back on and it function normally again!!! So it works for my case!! Thank for the expert engineering answer again!!
Finally!!!!! I also had it on a extension cord along with several devices after I unplugged everthing and left the ps4 alone everything worked perfectly
Glad i could help, but remember that the best configuration that you must have is with a UPS, it does not matter the brand, only that the Watt capacity must be higher than every device that is connected to the UPS. I did not want to spend more money so i bought an UPS just for the ps4 and sometimes to use the ps3(only one console turned on, not simultaneous). The UPS that i bought is Forza NT-501 with a maximum capacity of 250W, but you can buy any other it does not matter, just remember to check the Watt capacity of the UPS before buying it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your selfless help, I managed to fix my own FAT machine. I am indescribably grateful, thank you for sharing this for free, bro! Worked absolutely flawless
Funny, I had this issue about 5 years ago, scratched the metal plate on the inside then was sweet up until a month ago. Now, a week before the PS5 is released, I am here searching how to get my PS4 to work properly again. So far so good!
Thank you, great video but there's a bigger problem with my console. I tried it your way, but that screw can't be rotated. I mean it floats like in the wind, I mean like there's nothing at the bottom to hold it.
Валентин Балахнин The screw is not meant to tighten. It's more of a mechanism. Just rotate it about 1 turn and see if the disk drive stops ejecting discs. If it doesn't work, rotate it another turn. and repeat until the problem is fixed.
Whoops... I think I rotated it 12,674,191 times and it seems to work for the first 2 min now (it used to constantly beep... the nightmares I had... BEEP BEEP... BEEP BEEP... BEEP BEEP... pause ... (is it over?!) ... BEEP BEEP (raged and unplugged the thing))
After several days, this appears to have worked on my PS4. I got it on launch day and it had recently started auto-ejecting. I do wish the video made where my actual auto-eject screw is more clear, because I was under the impression maybe only newer models had this. Anyway, thank you, I was afraid of taking the cover off but it was as-simple as in the video. Cheers.
THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING YET ANOTHER CHEAP CLICK BAIT UA-cam VIDEO. FYI: Use an air can to clear the dust off of the "gills" of your PS4 and a flashlight to find the screw. Then use a Phillips screw driver (+) from a glasses screwdriver set to use as the tool to fix the issue)....It did work for me. It was ejecting none stop. I could hear it ejecting the would be disk inside. I also over tightened the "screw" (since it NEVER REALLY tightened). I may have turned it too many times, and it didn't allow the disks to go inside. So I fixed it by keeping a disk in the slot, while having the PS4 on and, turned the "screw" counterclockwise until the PS4 accepted the CD. Let's hope I won't have any more problems. I have an old PS4 and is problem enough not having enough space for my games, to also deal with this out of nowhere ejecting disc problem. Thank you sir for showing the solution to this problem and not being another cheap click bait video. 🖖🏽
None of these solutions actually work. A couple days ago I figured out how to actually fix this by disabling the eject button. You've got to void your warranty, but it only takes like five minutes and isn't tricky at all. Not trying to spam, but I made a video of how to do it on my channel. Hope it helps other peeps like me who are stuck living with this stupid problem.
That's why I thought I would do...already tried the others workarounds, maybe completely disabling the button will help :3 But I don't know if it's gonna change anything about the 3 short and loud beeps I hear even when the console is off...did you have that kind of issue too ?
Julien Attard I would get constant beeping and drive grinding while the unit was off. But once I opened it up and put tape over the button sensor, all that stopped.
Thank You Bro. Ive been having this issue for YEARS!!! Countless nights this problem would occur it would just spit the disc out and BEEP untill i wake up. take the disc out, turn on the tv and the remotely turn off the ps4 . its an on and off problem for the last couple yrs. but has happened 5 nights in a row. i will test your theory and give u the results thanks again 🙏🏼
Tbh mines use to do this a lot, but I’ve given it a really good wipe down on the sensors with wet wipes while no cords connected and you’ll be amazed how much dirt, dust and oil grime it builds up.
+Ian Grant I nearly thought the same. The screw is a lot more visible on the video than on my (Destiny edition) PS4. It was there, but you will need a torch and a VERY thin screwdriver. It may also be obscured by (even the slightest amount of) dust.
Raymundo Desouza you’re a lil late but thank you lol I can’t remember what I did. I probably bought another or I fixed it.. one or the other I can’t remember. Def dirty as hell in the vents
It's Same colour match as the console. Not silver. Dark grey almost black. I w looking for a silver screw. It's already 'loose' just turn it clockwise a few turns. It's right down in the vents
Thanks bro really appreciate it a lot. Retro game fixing store was charging a $100 to fix my issue!!! All I needed to do is to turn a simple screw. Wow if I didn’t know better that shop would’ve gotten me for a $100. Thanks again bro
In my case I opened my PS4 the day before and the next day I noticed the “peep” disk ejected sound, I opened my PS4 again and i cleansed the eject button from inside, it worked Normal back again, maybe it was stuck when I closed my PS4 the day before.
This is such a dumb and annoying problem, I've only had the PS4 for 4 months. It only does this when there's no discs inside, an inexcusable problem to have.
Ive had my ps4 for about 4-5 years and this is the the first time it has had a problem. But i also recently bought an xbox1 about 6 months ago and it is having problems connecting to the internet. I think this comment kinda speaks for its self
Great tutorial! By the time I saw this my ps4 had been sitting unused for a year or two due to the problem, have managed to boot it up without any beeping finally. Only trouble is my controller battery is completely useless after being empty this whole time lol
This worked for me for about a week and then sh*t happens again. So I removed the touch function for good (DIY opened up the console, remove the ribbon & do the cleaning as well). Works for more than 8 months now.
Mr HighBoosT I figured this out by myself the rubber on the bottom of the ps4 always touches the button the ejects you’re disk what u do is just rip out the rubber
did you turn clockwise? Cause The purpose of that screw is to eject disc if they get stuck manually if you turn it counterclockwise. I assume you just turned it the wrong way
Thankyou for saying that the screw is being tightened even though it seems like it isn't!! Sony told me to try this fix and I thought I was missing something when I kept turning and turning and thought nothing was happening. Nowhere else has mentioned this!
It won't help if the issue keeps happening because as you play the digital version of the game, or have the system in StandBy or OFF, it will still beep like someone keeps pressing the eject.
+StopFear it works if you dont want it to get you out of the game because it was ejected, this fucking shitty fabricated console forced me to buy BB, AW and MGS V all digital. now the piece of shit keeps beeping but im used to it, if i wouldve known iwould get the xbox one, and im not even a fan of it. but this ps4 shit takes the cake
ZOMBuckaCurt cases didnt do nothing for me, the screw thing worked immediately, but temporarily. If this is what im supposed to do every time it does that shit than i should have never paid 400 for it, it does not properly function, i feel i got scammed. What a piece of shit.
Only just found your video but so far it’s working so thank you man there’s nothing worse than been kicked off your game half way through a GTA 5 heist 😂😂
So far so good. I didnt have a long thin screwdriver so I cut off the point of a toothpick so the end became square and it turned just fine. Thanks man
Why does my PS4 very slowly ejects the disk? It slowly ejects and it very slowly inserts into the console. I always have to push it in when I want to play and I have to pull it out when I eject it. It's not doing it on its own. The disk does not get stuck nor does it eject on its own while I'm playing. With this issue do I still follow the steps you provided??? Anything helps. Thanks
Did it last night, easy peasy. Pls note that the screw is not meant to be tighten, just turn clockwise a few times and your good. Thx for your guidance my young padawan...
This works! Tried this almost 2 hours ago and so far so good! While I had the harddrive uncovered, I dusted it as well. I will update this comment if the problem continues. 🙂
I'm turning it clock wise but it's not tightning. It stays loose. I had it vertically for 4 months and it worked well then one night when I had it off it just turned on and spit the disc out. I was freaking tf out. Shoulda stuck with Xbox
Esco Beezy It shouldn't feel like it's tightening. You only need to turn it a little bit. Also, Xbox One's have a similar issue where it just eats discs.
This started periodically in like 2016 I'd be awoken in the middle of the night with my ps4 turning on, i immediately thought of ghosts. It would happen at like 3am randomly like once a year. But now it would start spitting my games out right after putting them in. This fixed the problem perfectly, and my ps4 got a much needed dusting lol

Dude, thank you. I would have gone nuts if I hadn't read your comment. It fixed my problem. I can't believe Sony released the console with such a design flaw.
PLSide
You're most welcome. Anyway I'm glad you have your issue resolved.
thank god you saved me 50 bucks
What if youre like me and you ripped the rubber right out and after a month of normality this shit starts ejecting discs again? fuck this shit i want my money back or at least a replacement.
AnGeL MiST
I'm sorry you're still having issues with that.
*am i the only one who was watching a YT Vid then your PS4 randomly just turns on and ejects the disc?*
No that happened to me
idk what you're talking about.
But it's Time for you to update you name
you need to Care about yourself
Lmaaooo Nice one!
That literally happened to me, it randomly turned on and it started ejecting the disc.
I've been watching this video for like the last 5 years or so now, suuuper helpful cheers!
Dammit this is randomly happening after about 5 years of using the console. I don't like this.
Same problem 😭😭
@Benny Fair fax the fact you call it a gaystation is cringe as fuck, not to mention you thinking your system being so infested with dust it almost overheated and died is Sony's fault lmao
@Benny Fair fax true. I assumed the insinuation over the gaystation line
@@kzero1499 NGL, Im 28 and I laughed a little.
I tried this trick about a week ago and my ps4 hasn't ejected a disc since. Thanks a lot.
Deceased Hailstorm could you get your screw to be fully tight?
@@richiy11 I ended up fixing it I can't remember how since it was 3 years ago. I just know that this video didn't help me very much.
this is literally the only vid that SHOWED me ehere the screw was. everyone just said screw this screw in and it'll be fine and had that zoomed in pic and I'm like "where it at though?" thanks
It worked but now it's happening again. It's like having to pump up the tires of your bike every few weeks. It's an annoying chore.
ikr same thing for me
buy the vertical stand
i use the vertical stand but it's still hapening
+Abdul Aldi idk bro, I used the vertical stand, and it doesn't happen anymore
+Abdul Aldi try doing rebuild data base then use the vertical stand.
My disc was stuck and would not eject even after restarting the system.I turned counter clockwise a few turns and pushed eject button and the disc did eject. Your video helped me a great deal thank you !
Who else tried this in 2019? I just did and its working so far. Mine started happening last year. Beeping goodness
Haziq I did it yesterday woke up today and it ejected my shit again

FunWithReo Hey I watch your vids!

It's definitely there, it's just hard to spot. Try pointing a flashlight directly down at it where he shows it will be on this video, you'll see it eventually.
I tried the light. Still cant find it
found it, but don't know if I have a screw driver for it lol
It works dude. I just tighten the screw and it works...the disc just don't eject anymore. Thanks dude. God almighty... Ok getting back to fallout 4 now :)
What'd you expect? A unit of measurement for tightness?
Just turn it a few times. 3 turns should do it
I do 7 until it feels like it tightened.
Mate, you have made my day. The beeping and ejecting noise is gone. Many thanks from my son and I!
hey hi people i think i found the real problem on the ps4 auto eject, i have made every fix that you have mentioned.
Thank you for taking your time on reading this long comment and please if want and if you can and have the time make everyone know about it.
EDDIE DC This is Great information!!! Thank you... Ps what is a UPS ....
Thank you, my console would try to eject even when it was unplugged
You don’t need a UA-cam tutorial you need a whole exorcist lol

The Wulff Den I think I might have over done it because I did rotate it like more than once
Whoops... I think I rotated it 12,674,191 times and it seems to work for the first 2 min now (it used to constantly beep... the nightmares I had... BEEP BEEP... BEEP BEEP... BEEP BEEP... pause ... (is it over?!) ... BEEP BEEP (raged and unplugged the thing))
Buy the new model CUEH-1200 , it has a mechanical eject button rather than touch sensitive button..
Me watching this in 2020 : The PS4 is scared because of the PS5
Who would've thought a video from 6 years ago would fix my PS4. Thanks man appreciate the help. Thanks from the Philippines
Thanks dude. You probably saved some cash. People like you make UA-cam a great place.
Thank you sir! Through the power of my handy dandy screwdriver and your awesome video my ps4 is now fixed. You da man!
I have just tried this, I pray to God it works or bloodborne will be very difficult to play, aside from the already challenging nature of the game...
Ciaran I'm late 2 years but did it work ???
I tried this just now but that screw just turns loosely I don't feel like it's gripping. Any suggestions
To people that don’t have a thin screwdriver use only one prong from tweezers
Mvp
But once I opened it up and put tape over the button sensor, all that stopped.
awesome :) I'm gonna try that as soon as I can ! Many thanks !
David Rutledge I've been spreading your vid bro.
the spook who sat by the door. Powell Thanks!
funny thing is my eject button doesnt work and it still turn on and ejects the disks
same thing with me bro, i even broke my golden chip
Dude thank you so much, what an easy fix and you are the only one online that knows this apparently
I just did it.
First thing that happened after turning my PS4 on... eject disc
( •_•)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The same thing happened to me. Try loosening the screw a little bit cos it might be too tight, i did that and now it seems ro be fine
Zachary Kelly was the fix permanent?
Zachary Kelly I cant even see the screw

This is so helpful I’m always about to beat a hard boss and then the disc just pops out
Going to try this. I'm sat here and the thing is ejecting like crazy. There's no disc in! Driving me cray
Mine JUST started doing this
This was incredibly useful!! Yep, it’s 2022 and it’s STILL relevant. Bless you sir, I wish you the best!!
My ps4 from 2014 has been doing this and I thought it was done for
Tbh mines use to do this a lot, but I’ve given it a really good wipe down on the sensors with wet wipes while no cords connected and you’ll be amazed how much dirt, dust and oil grime it builds up.
My PlayStation straight up does NOT have the screw you are talking about, its just not there.
That is possible. Sony removed the screw on never models.. only the launch ps4 I believe have the screw..
same idk what to do :/
Guys the screw is deep down just use a flashlight and you'll find it easily
+Ian Grant I nearly thought the same. The screw is a lot more visible on the video than on my (Destiny edition) PS4. It was there, but you will need a torch and a VERY thin screwdriver. It may also be obscured by (even the slightest amount of) dust.
+Dave Kennington I had that same problem xD. In my ps4 (Destiny Edition) is almost invisible.
I can't even find the damn screw 😭
me neither man i can’t find that bitch where is ittt
Use a air duster. It’s in the little vents. I used my phones light to see it
Raymundo Desouza you’re a lil late but thank you lol I can’t remember what I did.
I just took rubber piece off with my hands . Ps4 works perfectly now.
It can be reinserted if you want too.
Thanks bro really appreciate it a lot. Retro game fixing store was charging a $100 to fix my issue!!! All I needed to do is to turn a simple screw. Wow if I didn’t know better that shop would’ve gotten me for a $100. Thanks again bro
3 years later, and this trick is working so far... just tightened it a few days back and no problems.
In my case I opened my PS4 the day before and the next day I noticed the “peep” disk ejected sound, I opened my PS4 again and i cleansed the eject button from inside, it worked Normal back again, maybe it was stuck when I closed my PS4 the day before.
Amro Jordan all I did was rip off the rubber on the bottom of the ps4 so it wouldn’t eject no more
This is such a dumb and annoying problem, I've only had the PS4 for 4 months. It only does this when there's no discs inside, an inexcusable problem to have.
My long thin screwdriver got stuck and now I piss blood please help.
RoninHunter lmao relax
I understand what you did, how did you took out the ribbon, I'm having that beeping sound and while I'm playing the disc comes out, please help.
viper2077 all you need to do is cover up the sensor with a tape, so it become inactive. Then you're all set 👍🏻

Damn omg.
The same happened to me. I'm about to sell it back to gamestop and use the credit to buy a new one. Let it be their problem.
did you turn clockwise?
Cause The purpose of that screw is to eject disc if they get stuck manually if you turn it counterclockwise.
I assume you just turned it the wrong way
Just to check, but did you definitely turn in clockwise and without a disk in the system?
Damn that's fucked up..
Thankyou for saying that the screw is being tightened even though it seems like it isn't!!
Sony told me to try this fix and I thought I was missing something when I kept turning and turning and thought nothing was happening. Nowhere else has mentioned this!

The screw on the side just keeps spinning feels like there is no thread for the screw. so this is Sony quality. nice one design team. Fail!

Thanks
i love you.

I'm turning it clock wise but it's not tightning. It stays loose. I had it vertically for 4 months and it worked well then one night when I had it off it just turned on and spit the disc out. I was freaking tf out. Shoulda stuck with Xbox
