Do we have to pay the money back. At any time. . Cuz when I was in New York they had a program like this and the homeowner had to pay it back just wondering if we had to pay it back in here in Florida
No it’s a grant. But there are a lot of buts. You must be insured for $700k or less. You have to have homestead rebate. You don’t just get a check for $10,000. The website has all the info right on the first page.
It is actually bad for home owners. Roof,window prices will be jacked up by business and they will become more expensive. It is not given $10K. It gives up to $10K every $1.00 you spend .you will get $2.00 from the State.Look at roof and Window price ,yesterday,2 weeks,a month earlier than look at the estimated prices ,you will get from this program.
Most seniors live in trailer parks in FL and yet funds are not available to them. Mobile homes are at the highest risk of damage in a hurricane. So much can be done to mitigate damage.
