    A big reason Christianity gained so much clout was by hijacking the glory of Rome. Ironically, the empire ended very soon after turning Christian.

      All of this information is false provide no evidence for the claims. Christianity was tolerated by Roman Emperors like any other Faith in Rome before the fire in 64AB where half of the Rome was borend. In 64AD Emperor Nero blame Christians for the fire and use them in for his escapegoat because he was the one who caused the fire And then Started to persecute Christians. this incident is highly documented by non-christians like the Roman historian Tacitus. There is no evidence proving that the Christianity of state religion of Rome because Constantine himself was pagan to this day people argue about his conversion on his deathbed. As you can see Why would a pagan emperor will outlaw paganism. When Constantine became emperor he stop the persecution of Christians and let them be. There is no hierarchy in the Christianity.

    Same was the case in India. Buddhism was used as a political tool by the then kings and this Buddhism later was won over by discussion on their own theories which were proved to be wrong. When the religious elite of the Buddhism understood their mistake, they converted back to Hinduism lock stock and barrel in India. This is the reason why Christianity and Islam ban their followers from studying anything other than what they are forced to learn, believe and follow. This is because when once they sincerely study hindu texts with the intention of knowing God, they would understand the shallow political ideologies of their own religions and hence study of any other literatures is banned as blasphemy and all such libraries systematically destroyed. This is more of politics than of sincere enquiry and practices of sincere spiritual persons whichever religion they belong to.

    There are so many inaccuracies in this video that it makes me incredibly angry.
    You will never find any credible historian ever proclaiming something with conviction as you do. History is based on written records, which are often written by humans with biases, and so as a historian your first duty is to analyze the historical records and compare it with any other or physical archeological evidence you have.
    Constantine did not convert to Christianity because "it was a militaristic religion", on the contrary Christianity was not at all militaristic compared to roman paganism, and the roman society in general which was very patriarchal and male dominated society, its a common misconception that women were treated better in pagan rome than in christian rome, Christianity actually better the lives of women in the empire since before Christianity, women were only seen as baby producing machines to supply unlimited soldiers to the ever expanding empire, after Christianity women were allowed to join monastic orders and dedicate their lives to spreading the word of Jesus which allowed them to become independent and respected.
    As for the decline of Rome, there are literally too many factors for the fall of Rome, you can argue that the loss of male dominated martial vigour which roman society had before Christianity played a role or any number of other factors.
    Also Constantine never oppressed pagans after his conversion, it was his successors who started promoting Christianity and restricting pagan influences. Some records also indicate that Constantine might have actually been a follower of Sol Invictus which was another popular religious movement at the time.
    AND what the hell do you mean by roman paganism being descended from "ancient vedic religion", do you mean the proto indo european religion?
    If you do then i have to correct you because the proto indo european religion did not originate in India, there is absolutely no evidence to support this claim, yes hinduism and greek/roman paganism did arise out of a proto indo european religion but it definitely did not originate in mainland India

  • @daniM753
    @daniM753 5 місяців тому +2

    One quite major errors in this, Constantine didnt make Christianity the state religion, it was Theodosius 40 years after the death of Constantine. 313 was the date it was made legal to be Christian.
    Also the reason Romans didnt like Christianity is because they legally deemed all monotheism to be atheism, as it denied the existence of their gods. It was a pubishable offence in Rome since the days of the Republic (see the Roman persecution of Judeans in the 1st century).
    Yes, Constanine did use Christianity to promote himself politically by jumping on the bandwagon but Rome remained largely pagan for 40 years after his death. The selling of the myth that Constantine effectively made Christianity (for at least is the sole reason for it's growth) is a historical fallacy, when evidence shows it more likely that he simply jumped onto a growing trend at the time.

    When the Romans conquered their empire they met foreign religions that provided hope in happiness after Death unlike the traditionnal Roman religion . These foreign religions were in competition inside Roman Empire while decades . Christianity , a jewish heresy, was one of them
    The dharmic concept of Karma didn’t exist in Christianity. Instead the main concept was Faith. Faith is a feeling of total trust in a person. In gospels (Christian stories of Jesus), this person was Jesus. When Jesus went away, there was a transfer of this faith to the leaders of christian Church, the first bishops. So Roman Emperors and later germanic barbarian kings understood how useful the support of bishops could be to strengthen their power. Christians often say they 'civilized' the world. Who civilized Christianity? Greece and Rome. Appropriated polytheists as their own, then turned around and called them pagans, heathens or savages. Western Civilization is not built on "Judeo-Christian" morality. It's built on Greece and Rome. Greece and Rome were not Christian. Their history was stolen.
    It is funny when I see Christians use polytheistic societies like Greece Rome or Egypt as an "aesthetic" while they appropriate their stories and histories. It is funny when Americans call themselves "senators" and sit in a "senate" but are 'E Pluribus Unum' or "Christian Nation".

    As a Christian I am saying that your description of Christianity as nothing more than a cult that tells people that if they don't believe in Christian beliefs they will go to hell is a gross oversimplification of my faith. I'm sure every religion in the world has mentioned the consequences of not believing their respective ways, beliefs, gods etc. My faith teaches that a man can attain spiritual salvation only by believing that Jesus the son of God, who came down to Earth in human form as a sacrificial lamb in order to cleanse the sins of all humanity, is the one true saviour of all mankind.
    Some people, including yourself Shri Abhijit Chavda, may find this belief problematic. Fine, you do you and I'll believe in my convictions. My only request is that in the future when you talk about anything, whether it be religion, politics or history please present the raw information as it is before presenting your biased opinion on the matter.
    Also from which source did you find that the early Christians were a militaristic bunch? I can't imagine a cult centred around a man (Jesus Christ) who was a pacifist (according to his portayal in the Bible) to be militaristic.

    I am sorry Abhijit. It is generally accepted that well over ten percent of the empire (6 to 7 million people) was already Christian at the time of Constantine's conversion. It was not a militaristic religion. In fact, Rome had been adverse to Christianity since day 1 and the persecution of Christians until Constantine's conversion and even afterwards is common knowledge. Yes, the subsequent expansion into Europe was militaristic (although not all of it was) but this was not the case in the early growth of Christianity in Rome when it went from a few dozen followers to millions. I enjoy your videos but there is definitely an anti-Christian bias sometimes. Probably because of how you feel about the British occupation of India.

      The Inquisition after the 1500 century was against Protestant Christians. Before that was against the Muslims and Jews. Muslims because they conquered the Iberian peninsula while Jews because they "killed" Jesus.
      The which hunt by the Catholic church happens alongside their hunt for protestants. Fun fact, most of the so-called witches are found and killed by the Catholic Church where there are more Protestants Christians.

    Christianity started when Jesus was born?

    • @Asura3kWorld
      @Asura3kWorld 3 роки тому +2

      Jesus was born around 5-3 BCE. And he started evangelizing when he was 30 so, even at the earliest, Christianity became an offshoot of the Jewish faith in 25 CE.

      @daddyleon 3 роки тому

      @@Asura3kWorld Yeah, there's some back on forth about that, but 1 AD/CE definitely isn't when Christianity started. isfaik, even well after his death, his followers didn't consider themselves to be members of an upstart cult or religion, they thought themselves as Jews - reformers or not.

      @@Asura3kWorld A rather interesting proxy to the Indian world view. He's of course but one person and does this in English rather than in any of the Indian languages, so it's not representative. Despite that, I do think it gives me some insight.

      @@daddyleon Seems like he favors researches that agree with his biases, which is a fault most of us have. But I find it interesting since these all sound like the Black people invention or Islamic invention or Africans were the first to reach the Americas theory. Most of it is probably bulls#it but it's fun.
      I also found some Indian channel that claims there is proof that Indians are the first to get to the Americas like some Africans and Black Americans claim. Lots of alternatives history would be fun to see them debating each other.
