@14:10 -- The reason why we listed Tilly as the 3rd ship is because we are using Burnham. And we would want to stack her ATTACK stats to help aid with the stripping as well.
We don't have a maxed Burnham to test, but we suspect her ability will be extremely helpful as she gets higher in rank.
This is also the same reason to use Vemet as well.

Awesome stuff. Any chance of doing a definitive crewing guide for PvE, PvP and mining crews? I know there are videos for days about them, but it's not as easy as going to look up a chart or something? Or, has someone already done this and I can just bookmark it :) Thanks in advance.
@@AndrewEddie Thanks! Yes we have some internal guides we have shared within the BOLD alliance. We haven't made them public because there are a lot of better and smarter players. But you never know! We may consider putting out some guides along with some videos.

This is great. I almost always use my weak ships for base D for repair costs and try to crew them up..I have been putting Kras with Klas and Harrison...never thought of putting Harrison separate but i DIDN'T know about the how ships were hit and it what order and the why so this was GREAT information. Thanks so much to all who contributed to this!!!
I can't give enough thanks for including a PDF with the instructions. I'm a 'give me the bottom line' kind of guy and having a reference to look at before listening to the breakdown of the theory is super important.
I watched your first encounter of this setup during your incursion stream, then your other streaming when the server 14 guy was talking, then finally this video. All I can say is this is so brilliant and I cant wait to test it out at 12, with only four docks

Already used most of the officer combinations apart from using that ship layout.
When i use big ships as a defender i like to put TOS Uhura as a cap somewhere to shut down the crits.

DJ, I can't thank you enough for finding this Bold Defense, I have seen countless Kelvins and Newtons of an ops 49 player destroyed on our Alliance bases. Also, an ops 44 player in our Alliance has modified crews/ ships a bit to take down a Northcutt. There is nothing like seeing an ops 49 player just completely frustrated with this defense.
I never thought that I'd say this but now I need to go get some more Turas BPs 🤦♂🤦♂
Probably easier to do now than when we started out playing! 😆

Every Ops upgrade, I upgrade defense platforms and defense platform research asap. I agreed, defense plats are the number one thing in this game if you're not into fighting, but you want to defend, and this ship/crewing setup proves it!
My set it and forget it base defense is a highly PVP defense, I know full well there's no inactive defense, but my defense either scares attackers off, or lets me get online to shield.

I would think TOS Spock as a captain would be beneficial in there too
TOS Spock is better suited on a larger ship to make an impact.

Great video. What would us lower level player's with only 4 docks use that are 31 and below? Thank you again for the video.
Focus on Kras, Yuki and Harrison setup. You can also substitute Nero/Vemet setup.
Also is there a way to do this with 4 ships? There has to be a way to optimize this for those under ops 39 or those who don't have the 5th dock
I'm in the same situation. I'm not sure if it would be better to drop the Tilly crew and accept less shield stripping, or the survey at the end that only increases your damage.
I would try to drop the last one (gorkon). Stripping opponent shields is essential for you defense guns
agree with benji. drop the survey ship.
I tried the crew/ship setup as outlined and my station was ripped apart by a 17mil, tier 5, pilum. I only started getting victories when I switched out with larger ships. I'm ops 39 and my attacker is ops 46.
Use tilly on the jelly, that is 51% shield strip

Im ops 42 and didnt get the Baby jelly since the beginning😫 Any Alternative here for this loadout?
There was a monthly / weekly event last year where you could get bps for baby jellyfish. It’s how I got mine ☺️
You can get the Baby Jellyfish in the arc's event store. I was able to get another. My goal is to get 4 Baby Jellyfish for the Secret Sauce 2.0 😈

Marcus is only there for Yuki to have synergy. You just really need a maxed Jellyfish to her stripping abilities above the 50% threshold for each round.

That was amazing! I learned SO much! This will change my game like crazy! Quick question.. for your ships crews, I didnt see any officers below decks, or am I missing something?
One more thing, does this logic work the same way whether you are defending or raiding?

I didn’t have any of them tiered up as far as the turras. And pike moreau Harrison doesn’t need stats so I let it be. It’s not as much about the ship power as it is the abilities. If you have underdeck slots def use em. But my turras were level 1

recommendation: cadet mccoy instead of zhou gives a better bump to Yuki's captains ability

What if the person attacking your bases uses an interceptor such as a Sally? Sally's used to be the primary ship that we attacked bases with. How would using an interceptor affect your ships and officers at your docks?
Would be worse considering interceptors are weak to explorers

I could be wrong, but surely if your first ship has Harrison, who removes 100% of the shield for the first round, then having Tilly second is pointless as she is removing 30% of nothing for the first round as you already by passed it with Harrison?
Harrison just ignores it for the first round.

@@ookiemon Tilly's ability reads as "at the start of combat" which reads to me like for the first round only.
remember, harrison doesn't STRIP.... it IGNORES. so the shield values are still there. tilly WILL reduce it, even in round 1, but harrison will remove the rest. you NEED the 30% from tilly to COMBINE with the stacking ability from yuki to make sure that the shield is 100% stripped by round 2.
You forgot anti crit like tos Uhura or TOS spock, way more useful than burning
TOS Uhura has just 2 flaws with this strategy.
1. She doesnt matter if every docked ship is a 1 Shot
2. She only works as long as the ship exists
So basically she is pointless in this layout. You have to go full buffer to make use of her.
Correct. Anti crit is the 3rd most important crew.
TOS Uhura and TOS Spock are better suited for larger ships that can sustained longer rounds to give them both benefits. This is an alternative tactic we believe is better suited for higher ops players going into the late 40s.

i believe so yes. you'd do he realta. two turras. and 1 fortuante. yes i think it stll works. it's not AS POWERFUL. but yeah definitely still works.

Your officers will be the most important asset for you to have. At Ops 25, try to focus on unlocking Kras, Harrison, and Yuki. -- alternatively or additive, you can run the Vemet crew.
