I would've wished to hear a bit more of your thoughts about why you don't like the champ points system as well as why you think that the Stage 1&2 playoffs the way they are now could use improvement. I see the point you made that single elimination as well as a buy into 2nd round sucks and I agree with you but what would be the advantage of a full 8 team double elim bracket? What advantage does this bracket bring? Yes the teams would be more evenly spread in an 8 team bracket and we would have 2 overall more matches to see. This would be at the cost of no point to fight for a top seed out of a team's perspective. The teams then would maybe only compete to be in the top 4 of their group to be in playoffs and might want to save some gameplans/strats they came up with. Also the casters have an easier way of creating narratives this way. We have seen a lot of lower bracket runs in the history of Valorant. So I guess I want to give you the feedback, that I like your content but would wish, that you give it a bit more depth in order to generate more comments and also differentiate your Video about the new schedule in contrast to other videos about the exact same topic. I hope you can understand what I mean and don't think its mean off me. I am trying to give constructive feedback in english which isn't my mother tongue. Love exists to be spread 💜
I do not really know the only hunch I have is the folllowing: EMEA plays in Berlin, Germany. In Germany May 1st is a national holiday "Tag der Arbeit" (day of work). On this day nobody works except for police, firefighters, people working in hospitals, ... So Riot might want to have a clean playoff bracket without a day off. I don't really believe that the holiday would prevent Riot from letting a match being played out. But it is the nearest reason I see. Also the new playoff bracket has 12 games. So even if they wanted to broadcast only one game per day they still would have 2 days spare. Maybe these two days are intended as rest/prep day before the Lower Bracket Final and the Grand Final which both should be Bo5s But it wouldn't make sense to delay all regions except they want to make it "fair" by not giving any teams more time to prep. To conclude, I also do not see any specific reason or any logical sense in this decision. One thing we can be happy about is that the teams that qualified for the stage 1 playoffs will have time to prep for their opponents (since I assume that the draw/seeding will be announced after the last game of the regular stage). I say draw since the 3rd to 6th placed of the stage play each other in the first round of playoffs. And I would appreciate to see matchups between teams that weren't in the same group during the regular stage. But they also might let them play against each other by placement (#3 vs. #5 and #4 vs. #6, or #3 vs #4 and #5 vs. #6, or #3 vs #4 and #5 vs. #6) I think the latter is the most probable if they don't draw. Another reason why they pushed it could be some LoL Event, but I don't know anything about LoL esports so this is a wild assumption. TLDR: I have a theory that it is bc of a german holiday and to keep it fair across all leagues every league plays during the same timeperiod (roughly).
