  • This video was shot at Capernwray Diving and Leisure inland dive site at Over Kellet near Carnforth. This inland site is a staple for UK divers in the north as it is great for training and if you get blown out and cannot get in the ocean then at least you can still get wet.
There are planes and boats sunk in there as underwater attractions but the biggest attraction for the Bubbleheads are the huge Sturgeon and the other fish that thrive there. Some of the bigger fish even come in for a cuddle and a stroke and are really friendly, if you are not a muppet and scare them off! The visibility was awesome this day but largely because we were the very first ones in the water. After a few hours at weekends the visibility can drop dramatically due to divers with poor buoyancy kicking the living daylights out of the bottom. To be fair though there is no such thing as a bad student just a bad teacher so please instructors listen up, firstly, sort your own buoyancy out and teach by example!!!! Secondly do not take students in there until they have decent buoyancy control which they have demonstrated in their confined water dives, even if that means doing at extra session in the pool!!!

The visibility was spectacular. First time a Sturgeon received a loving stroke from a human ~ that was awesome to see ! Thanks “Bubble Heads” enjoyed the video. 👍🏽
