I tried to repress it Then I carried its crown I reached out to undress it And love let me down Love let me down So I tried to erase it But the ink bled right through Almost drove myself crazy When these words led to you And all these useless dreams of living alone Like a dogless bone So come let me love you Come let me love you And then colour me in Well I tried to control it And cover it up I reached out to console it It was never enough Never enough So I tried to forget it That was all part of the show Told myself I'd regret it But what do I know? About all these useless dreams of living alone Like a dogless bone So come let me love you Come let me love you And then colour me in Come, let me love you Come, let me take this through the end Of all these useless dreams of living In all these useless dreams All these useless dreams of living In all these old noes Come let me love you Come let me love you Come let me love you Come let me
Thank you Shawn. Awesome as always. Going to try and get around to learning this in the next few days. I love Damien Rice's music. So glad you covered this. I Hope you cover I don't want to change you at some stage.
Excellent as usual Shawn, I'm not yet good enough to attempt this one, but for sure it's on my "to do" list once I've practiced some finger picking more. Man, you're doing so many of my favourites lately - thanks!
Thanks, Shawn! Finally managed to play this song entirely after a few weeks practicing. Hope to be watching more lessons from such an amazing album, particularly 'Trusty and True'. Apparently, there are no guitar tutorials for that song on UA-cam. Keep up with such a great work!
Great video! I've checked out a few of your other videos, and I have to say - you have a gift. I would really appreciate if you could do a lesson on The Box, by Damien Rice as well. Cheers
great job on the review man! its helped me learn the song more than i couldve hoped for off youtube. how do you like the Little Martin? Im thinking about getting one and its seems to sound pretty good in your videos?
super happy to find this tutorial! Nice work! I can actually understand it! :-) I also LOVE Damien Rice music. Big vote for me too for "I Don't Want to Change You". I've got the chords, but would love the picking down as well. Thanks man! Subscribed :)
Hey, this is awesome, youre the man. Would you be good enough to do something similar for Trusty & True, i have tried to have a hunt around and cant quite get the right sound. Either way, thanks for your efforts here, great stuff
Thank you Shawn ! It is a great help to start with this beautiful piece of music. Just for info, it appears that Damien Rice plays the G# with the thumb (I mean for this position -> 4:34). You can see it here -> ua-cam.com/video/M2SbH6tFLOs/v-deo.html And, it accually make the all thing easier to play ! I know some of you don't like to use the thumb, but Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer and almost all great guitarists do !
Anyone else find that its literally impossible to sing along while playing this ? I mean you can sing and play but not without messing up the rythm and synch/timing
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! Amazing tutorial, very great and easy lesson. I love music from Damien Rice. PLEASE do some more of his older songs . Thanks
I tried to repress it
Then I carried its crown
I reached out to undress it
And love let me down
Love let me down
So I tried to erase it
But the ink bled right through
Almost drove myself crazy
When these words led to you
And all these useless dreams of living alone
Like a dogless bone
So come let me love you
Come let me love you
And then colour me in
Well I tried to control it
And cover it up
I reached out to console it
It was never enough
Never enough
So I tried to forget it
That was all part of the show
Told myself I'd regret it
But what do I know?
About all these useless dreams of living alone
Like a dogless bone
So come let me love you
Come let me love you
And then colour me in
Come, let me love you
Come, let me take this through the end
Of all these useless dreams of living
In all these useless dreams
All these useless dreams of living
In all these old noes
Come let me love you
Come let me love you
Come let me love you
Come let me

What kind of guitar is that?? Seems like a nice size
Not sure which model, but I have a very similar Martin. You wanna look for "concert sized".
My e string sounds off when I hit it at first fret, but I have it tuned correctly. Anyone have a solution?
Not to mention that stretch is confusing my fingers for some reason
I realize hammering with my ring finger and not my middle is giving me mass confusion. I guess I just need more practice at that
Lol I misheard you and thought you said E🤦♂️ all problems solved
What size is that guitar?
0:59
20:00
Anyone else find that its literally impossible to sing along while playing this ? I mean you can sing and play but not without messing up the rythm and synch/timing
practice until you can't get the guitar part wrong
then practice words of the song.
only then together
