The English battle wagon would of been blasted out the water by the Yamoto. The KGV class was under guned compared to others of its day. She also had main gun problems that plagued the hole class.
The guns themselves work just fine, it was the quad turret mountings that were the issue, the dual mountings were fine too. Also, 356mm guns aren't small by any means.
That too, the main guns firing is somewhat lacking, in addition, on a ship to ship battle, like shown in these lame simulations, the main guns would be firing as fast as possible. It is unlikely that the secondary guns would be fired at a battleship except in desperation. It is very unrealistic at long range in any case...

Would you prefer it if the Duke of york was fighting a one-sided battle against a ship with 5000 hitpoints and 25 main calibre guns? Yes, much fairer isn't it, to leave a poorly balanced ship, poorly balanced, just so the British ship doesn't win. Pffft. You're seeing things that aren't there. That is something annoying. The ships can't shoot at each-other beyond about 6kms. But the guns are firing about every 30-40 seconds
