You are not supposed to skip that many grits of sand paper
Can you provide me with a list of alternative materials like the sand paper machine? What can I use? I have a dresser I want to repaint but seems like it was previously painted what do you recommend using?
Hi! For the stain, was it a 50/50 mix of Jacobean and Espresso?
Give it ten years before the new owner of the desk restores it to its true wood finish. Circle of life Simba
Nice Job! I run a small woodworking shop and flip Goodwill furniture when business get a little slow. This is a great example of what I do to with cheap furniture to make some extra cash.
I like that desk before and after. Either works. The result is wow!
I flipping luv seeing that fresh sanded wood. Its so clean 🙂. Actually that would give me a decision dilemma 😅. I quite like a natural wood look. However that end result 😍 is wow!
Write a script? 🤣
I don't usually like the look of painted wood furniture but with the dark stained top this came out so nice. I love it!
I really like how you pay attention to cleaning and finishes inside and out. And how you follow safety issues. Good lessons learned as I start a similar project. Thanks!
AAAAHHHH!!!! Thank you!!!
Beautiful
did my first. wood project. old cheap desk from flea market, when I got it a couple years ago it was so bad I just painted it. now I painted the chipping metal legs and support, stripped the paint off the wood top and other wood parts. sanded it down evened everything out. filled in the wood. and chipping dents, stained it Bombay mahogany and it came out beautiful. then put a clear gloss finish, there are some air bubbles but I love it, and. it really is beautiful
Drop cloth silliness , beautiful .
This looks very good!
Who would give this a thumbs down ?? The desk looks amazing !!
Bellissimo il tavolo 😊 Brava 👍
Even if you did mess up or it took so long we watch these videos to learn the process.
I would have liked to watch the WHOLE process - meaning the clear coat as well. Please consider actual start to finish next time🙏 I think other newbies like me would appreciate it greatly!
Love how the table turned out !!
Thanks so much, Marjorierose!
That looks fabulutastic! I’m not usually for painting good wood furniture but your salvaging of the top looks great with the lower painted portions! Thumbs up for sure!
I AM OBSESSED. The stain is so gorgeous! Looks amazing with the white!
Thanks so much, Samantha! :)
Thumbs up definitely. 👍👍👍♥️

Omg, you hooked me on the first video that’s so crazy. Definitely going to take all your advice. Momz is definitely getting a great birthday gift this year.

You make everything look so easy.

Very nice....
Try using a height adjustable table to work on. Alot less back and knee pain. Also cover the table to prevent mess(work table)!
Looks great! I will be doing the same to a dining table soon.
I love OLD one
Wow you did such a beautiful job! Your videos are so helpful! I’m just starting to refurbish old furniture and your videos are great!
Aww, thanks! Glad you're finding them helpful!
It worked out perfectly! Thanks for the video, like and subscription!

Super super super
Awesome thank you for posting. I'm really becoming a fan of your work.
Aww, what a sweet comment, Jason! Thank you! :)
I love it! It's beautiful! Good job!
So fun to watch you... you are adorable and love your commentary
Awww, thank you! You're so sweet. :)
I like your videos and most of what you do. I have to ask the question I would ask anyone. Why are people so enamored with stain? Nothing wrong to use it, but for me, I would use it very little. Keeping a natural wood surface, painting, or maybe using a paint wash. But it's all fine.
Love the paint and stain combo! Nailed it :)
I don’t like painting either but I like Orange tone less. I’d refinish it. But-it looks very nice. Kudos.
Thanks, Elizabeth!

Thrift Diving it's unique but still rough which makes it very pretty
also love your channel keep making videos like these
Awww....well, thank you for that! :) I really appreciate it. I sometimes feel like it's my Achilles heel!
I could listen to you for hours and hours
+Thrift Diving (Serena Appiah) de um dia, a partir das pessoas, que é o mesmo que o senhor me ajudar. O meu é o
This is gorgeous and if like to view the bullet and do this to some ugly bedroom furniture. You had said once that if you paint a coat of shellac under the paint that you could later step it back down and stain it if your tastes change, right? I would love to see a video where you do that. I always fear I'll regret painting wood furniture. I have commitment issues...lol. Plus my grandmother's voice still rings in my ears. Whenever she would see a piece of painted furniture for sale she would say "it's a pity someone ruined it."
Beautiful! Silly as it sounds, my problem always lies with streaks after sealant applications. It would be great to see a video on how to apply it correctly. I have done much research on sealers but without success! Perhaps you can shed some light on this!
Arlene, girl, I had my camera all set up to record me applying the sealer, and the stupid battery died!! LOL. But you know, that is a great idea. I'll do another video and how to apply the sealer. It's tough on larger pieces, I think, because you're always trying to make sure it's smooth and "just right." I'll add this to my video list!!
Great! Yes that is my issue with large pieces. I love your creativity and always look forward to your posts! Greetings from Canada :)
Have you ever tried to use a paint sprayer to apply sealers? It can be done, although I've never tried it. That might be another video to do! LOL And thanks so much for following along on these DIY adventures! :) You're awesome!
amazing job ,
like your choosing of knobs😍👌
Thanks, Zain! I'm so happy that I had those Old World knobs lying around! I have had them for a couple years and have wanted to use them on something. This seemed perfect!
Thank you, Zain!!
I really love your videos, they're really inspiring. So i have decided to try refinishing a few peices of furniture, My first piece was a great night stand with a marbled top but it was an ugly honey blond wood and I really hated it. but instead if stripping it, I used a gel stain, 3 coats, and it came out beautiful. Have you ever used gel stain? I have since refinished a chest of drawers , a coffee table and a sofa table... I really love doing this. Also thanks for the tip for the stripper you use, blue bear.. I tried it and love it. You're awesome. 🥰
You need a surfprep sanding
That looks great!!!
Thank you, Linda! :) Glad you like it! Thanks for watching my video!
Uau parabéns, você sempre consegue deixar as coisas velhas muito lindas😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So beautiful!
Thanks, Chelsi!! :)

I love this 😍😍
0:01 THIS is the quality content i suscried for
Amazing after...... 💗💗 it.
Thanks, girl!
Thank you!!
Beautiful! :)
I love your channel !
Thank you so much! :)
You should have stained the inside of the drawers too! This is gorgeous!
Great idea; might consider that next time, although I generally leave the drawers untouched.
Love it.
+Virginia Vanells Thank you, Virginia! :)
Learning how to refurbished. Why didn’t you sand the bottom part?
Hi Serena! I love your channel and am inspired to refinish my kitchen cabinets. Can you please tell me how you know when you should sand to remove a finish versus using a stripper?
You can use a stripper like citristrip to get the finish coat off because sanding that will gum up the sand paper, then clean it off with mineral spirits, then there is a thing called wood bleach to help take off stain, then you could do minimal sanding. Or, just sand it down like she did. I think it really just depends on how much sanding you want to do, a lot vs a little.
I love ur chanel , thank you for share video ❤😍
awesome job
Thank you, India!!
Awesome!
Thank you, Paul!! :)
great video! THANKS for sharing!
Thanks, and you're welcome!
Great video! What a huge difference! Did you add the sealer to the entire desk or just the top at the end?
So can you just use the paint over any color stain? what do you think of the spray can paint people use ??
Wow! That table / desk could sell for probably around $150 now (maybe more)
