- Torrential rains have devastated the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, causing floods. Brazil has been virtually cut off due to a massive flooding that has left at least 100 people dead. More than 130 people are missing, while over 370 have been injured in the deadly flood. Brazil's floodwaters have submerged roads and bridges, causing landslides and the partial collapse of a dam.
