A couple of tips. Those gaps were so tiny you could use a really thin super glue that would have closed the gap. For somewhat larger gaps I use a type of putty that is UV curing which allows you to close the gap and wipe away almost all the excess before curing it so it reduces the amount of sanding and cleanup
