That is a great question. I thought the same thing when I was putting this together. Should have covered that, but here's the answer: "Transmission is the movement of electricity at high voltage from a power plant to a substation. Distribution is the conversion of high voltage electricity at substations to lower voltages that can be used by customers." Makes sense. Joe P.
Another play that may not be obvious but it is to the TSLA community is Tesla for their Mega packs, providing energy. And today is a great day to get in. 😊
Trying to call bottoms on any stock is pointless. Instead, if you believe in Tesla, then use dollar cost averaging and accumulate over time. Stating how much revenues/profits come from energy and the rate at which they're growing lets anyone very quickly see what that exposure looks like. No FOMO, no YOLO.

Elon Musk's vision for Tesla, judging by their product focus on solar, seems to be a future where individuals generate their own power. Could this decentralized approach disrupt traditional energy companies like NEE in the long run?
I just noticed there are two NextEra Energy stocks, NEE and NEP, with NEP having a much higher dividend at nearly 12%. Do you see that as an equally good or better investment than NEE?
Thanks for the analytics and insights. Given the YTD stock price increases, is it still a good time to enter the electricity space? I am looking into investing in this space as a diversification and defensive play so I can’t stomach too much potential downside. Thanks again

@@kisstock ABB is interesting for a lot of reasons, and they do a lot of different things. Siemens is a conglomerate of sorts. Finding pure play exposure to transformers is tough.
How would you contrast NEE to something like BEP. Seems like BEP has around 70 percent inflation protected cash flow and high backlog. Maybe, the contractual cash flow limits the upside when compared to something like NEE? Appreciate your videos and resulting discussions
That's a very good question, and to answer that would probably be an entire video in itself. To add anything of value here would require a fair amount of research.

What are your thoughts on HE, I understand it comes with additional risk but it given its price and potential future shortages (they have already hinted toward rolling block outs) l think the upside is considerable. May be worth a small position?
First question is whether that's a dividend champion or not. Then it's best to strawman why this smaller utility will enjoy better upside than the larger names mentioned. Sounds like they're not very geographically diversified! What sort of natural disasters might rain on their parade?
@@Nanalyze Another disaster would be very unlucky indeed! I guess I’m looking at it from a value play, most of the downside has already been priced in, they have little to no competition on the island and they are “too big to fail” from an infrastructure and importance standpoint. It would be very hard for another business to just start up a utility company and may get a bail out from the government if needed.. seems like good RR to me given the price it’s trading at. Obviously they stopped paying dividends (for good reason) that doesn’t mean they won’t start again in the future. Just because a dividend was paid or grown in the past, doesn’t mean that will continue into the future either.

The entire purpose of the methodology described in the video is to lower risk and increase the quality of investments. We don't go in the other direction based on hunches that bad news is priced in. Don't they also have outstanding litigations pending? Not something we want any part of. The entire purpose of having a track record is to keep that track record. Companies without at least 25 consecutive years of growth aren't even on our radar as the video stated.
You know it's funny how negative stock price volatility is perceived as some deep problem that can never be solved, while nobody asks "why?" when stock prices move 500% in a year.
@@Nanalyze That's why some make money when quality stocks drop and others avoid the falling stock thinking the stock is a loser. As far as I'm concerned, I want to see TSLA drop to that 127 or lower while we're still very early in the EV adoption process. About the only thing I'd like to see is Elon Musk being less involved in politics and more interested in growing his companies.

Great question. Lots of electricity is used by companies and municipalities. A that scale we'll probably always need utility-scale electric.

A more correct proxy play on AI electrification would be grid upgradation : transformers etc.
Transformers we took a quick peak at and there doesn't seem to be any pure play leaders. Do you know of some?
