Having problems where serato can't find tracks ? This is the solution to orange missing files which is the reason they are orange, because serato can't find the tracks in your file path.
This is a tutorial for Serato DJ Pro crate management, but this works for all softwares including Virtual DJ, Traktor, DJay app and more.
File structure is important and making sure you never have broken links will help you for a long time to come.

Your music is ON the mac I assume ?
Very easy,
I'd personally recommend getting another external drive if you don't have one,
Just to BACK UP everything.
Copy the music from the folder to the hard drive,
Copy the crates back up from computer to backup,
Copy the files from backup,
To the exact same folder location on the new mac,
Will open like nothing has changed !
File path must be identical tho,
If it's in my music on the old computer or whatever,
Ensure it's in the same place on the new computer
And you'll have nonproblems
Same Bro. Lmk how it went for you. Literally doing it as we speak. Back up computer is old old. I'm going from MBP mid 2012 i5 on Mojave, to MBP 2022 M2 on Sonoma. Dealing w some serato pathway file issues at the moment. Lets hope I can sort it out fast 🤞🏾

Thanks. yeah, thats one thing, but I'm transferring from an OS thats 12 year old, and have been DJing a long time, so I have a handful of variables. isn't I didnt wanna do any conversions to use migration assistant either, because of the chances of transferring over old issues to my new computer. But I was able to pinpoint a couple things. So I deleted and am starting over. Wish me luck

I know this isnt related to your video but Im have an issue with my flx4 connecting to serato pro. It will still connect in serato lite but when i got pro it will say connection fail how to i get it to connect. Also i have a mac book.

I don't have one
Shift/cntrl/ delete removes my orange file, but it still comes back
You might need to delete your backups

I have a question? Im not paying for serato because i have the denon prime 4 & just got the s11 mixer in which both unlocks serato dj pro for the most part. Now, my question is if you go to a club which had cdj 3000 & a v10 mixer or even cdj 2000 with the 4 channel pioneer mixer do you need to purchase serato dj pro to be able to use the equipment in hid mode or can you be able to plug & play but of course downloading the drivers needed, i guess?

If it needs dvs, I think you need the kit
As long as you have the s11 you're good serato wise,
The control discs should work instead of hid tho no ?
I don't use any dvs anymore so I can't really answer you're question sorry man
When I used my rane72 with 12s tho it just worked
No add-ons needed
I don't have serato DJ pro, or the club kit

I put it back to the original place
Works fine
the best method is to just re scan id tags
Takes forever

@@TheDJConnect your way works but i just like less moving on the mouse. i just open the folder and re-scan id tags it takes a few mins but its on auto and less stress

It goes from my PC (UA-cam)
To my MacBook pro (dj computer)
It's just plug and play
But I do have an idea about showing backup folders and how to properly backup so it can be moved

Basically, it was time for me to upgrade my old 2010 MacBook to 2019 MacBook.
I keep my music on my computer Internal drives. I loaded all music in my new MacBook along with the _serato_ & backup folders.
Then I scanned for id scanned for relocated files but NONE of my crates pop up.
And I’ve only come across two other videos that supposed to do it. But, when I repeat there steps its not working either.😔
I reached out to them and they haven’t responded. What Am I doing Wrong!😔
