Great update! Crazy on spirit on CAK! I believe PSA is only American Eagle however for sure your logic on American eagle flying to Akron being affected some by the maintenance facility is definitely a very realistic theory as I’m sure it’s easy to rotate planes through for maintenance, United probably just trying to fill the void a little bit for Delta leaving and the recent decades decline, great update and excited for the next videos!
It is sad about its decline. It's always a choice of mine to spend $350 to fly out of CAK, or spend $150 to fly out of CLE. But, CAK is a 15 minute drive, and CLE is an hour. Typically I use CAK in the winter to avoid a snowstorm. Great video!
the same thing was even happening with cleveland for awhile after United closed the hub there. We’re getting a lot more low-cost carriers here tho now. In fact, we have an entire terminal abandoned that was once dedicated to regional flights for Continental
Great video! Although JetBlue never served Akron. The airport has supposedly secured a new carrier who’s committed to adding 5 new destinations. We’ll see!
We now have Breeze Airline out of CAK, they fly to Tampa, Charleston, and New Orleans. Wish AirTran would’ve never sold out to Southwest they were the biggest airline at CAK.
This is so cool to see my home airport being modeled! SWA at CAK at their busiest flew to ATL, MCO, DCA, LAS, TPA, BOS, MDW, LGA, and DEN. Back when DL was mainline in 2019 we got MD88s, MD90s, occasional A319s, and eventually towards the end of the year transitioned to nothing but 737-800s. Also, JetBlue never served CAK unfortunately. really loved the video! Shoot me a message on Instagram @flyohioaviation if you need some references for the airport
Thanks and happy Friday to you too big H! and wow, that's interesting because Thurman Munson, who was a baseball player died when flying a plane into Akron so it defiantly has a history with sport players
Unfortunately, the airport at Akron represents the decline of the city in general. Most people would rather live in Cleveland with better entertainment, jobs, safety, etc. Great update, man, and I enjoyed seeing your personal connection to the airport.
You mentioned how you weren’t sure on the retro routes which you were portraying with Delta and Southwest. On Wikipedia you can go back to previous versions to look at which airlines served the airport at the time and which destinations they served. Here’s a link to the wiki page for Akron in 2012: en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Akron-Canton_Airport&oldid=506970618
@@Aviation18 you can do it with any Wikipedia page, just scroll to the bottom and click on the “last edited by” thing and keep scrolling down the list of previous edits, it gives you the date of each edit too so you can just scroll down to whichever date you are looking for. I’ve found that most airport Wikipedia articles go back to the early and mid 2000’s but many of the airport Wikipedia pages didn’t get lists of airlines and destinations until the mid 2000’s
Great video 😃 also is that the dulles board your using for akron because if it is then a lot of progress has been made. 👍 Is it your birthday as well if so happy birthday joe🎉🎂🎁🎉

Where did you get your new terminals?
It's sad I live about 5 minutes away from the Akron-Canton Airport I remember the days but it was full of planes
Love the update, and how you added so much information into this little update!
Nice update. Sad to see so much airlines supending flights to here. That hangar looked funny. :)
Where did you get the United express crj 550. I’ve been looking for one for ages
