Same, I'm 21, I suffer from female pattern baldness. I started losing it when I was young, about 11, due to the neverending stress and abuse in my life. I'm desperate for solutions.
Caitlyn Ladd he’s wrong though. His DHT (dihydrotestosterone) levels might be lower than other males it’s just that his hair follicles are more susceptible to them. Plus he’s a pretty scrawny looking guy with a high pitched voice so I doubt he’s got a lot of testosterone
I'm proud of you! I have alopecia areata and I shaved my head last year. Literally the hardest decision i made but i felt so relieved. I made a video about it on my channel if anyone curious ❤❤❤
Honestly having the confidence to do this and make a video about it is so inspiring there is way too much stigma around changing your appearance to make yourself happy
I love to see some male body insecurities talked about with such openness. It’s really important that the young people watching these videos will have a great example for how to respond to their own insecurities in a healthy way. Thank you Zach!!!
im 22 receding hairline yesterday i buzzed it out and have my beard...i have a nice head shape lol it looks good the more i look at my hair the more im starting to get use to it and like it.
@Joe Dick There are two types of people who disapprove of this. Those who are balding but don't want to address it so they want others to stay at their level. And then there are those who aren't balding and thus can't really relate and have no business telling others what they should and shouldn't do.
The sad thing is that he has the T levels of an old men, all of the try guys have T levels much lower than average which sadly means that Zach has a genetic condition or it might also be stressed induced but from what they pointed I lean more towards genetics.
It's actually true. The more testosterone you have, the faster you lose hair. And, everyone has testosterone. It's just typically men that have more testosterone.
Bea Badjar : That’s not quite correct. It’s not really testosterone but rather DHT (dihydrotestosterone) that affects the hair follicles on the top of the head. The hair on the side and back are generally resistant to DHT hence why those hairs are harvested for transplant. Some men’s top hair are naturally resistant to DHT. It’s not a matter of more testosterone. It’s a matter of how sensitive are your top hair to DHT.

I think it would make him a lot more "brave" to accept who he is and not do anything or shave it off. He is opening up about his insecurity but only suppressing it and not beating it entirely.
His monologue at the first 2 min really hit home. I'm a guy in my early 20's and I'm balding. It's SEVERELY impacting my self esteem and self confidence in ways no one would understand unless they were also in my situation. Props to him for talking about it so directly.
I rock a balding or shaved head. Its not a bad thing. My hair started falling out at 16. People don't like you or dislike you because of your hair. You may be balding but you got friends, people like you, and accept you the way you are. It may affect you differently but that is how I viewed it. I'm 27 now so I'm not that old but it was worse than this dudes hair when I was 20. I'm sure you are a great person. The hair doesn't matter.
It could also be that you are in your 20s. You can empathize with how those with the XX chromosome feel about a flat chest or bulbous nose or asian eyelids. I don't think the answer is to turn to surgery like this guy. We only get older, so if you are balding now, take it as a challenge to accept yourself fully & build inner confidence sooner rather than later. You'll be ahead of other guys mentally when their inevitable time comes.

Get him to do the robotic hair transplantation. It cost 10-15,000 but its permanent and looks natural. The robot uses an algorithm to select which hairs to use for transplantation. Hes still young enough. This tech wasnt around for me so he needs to jump all over it asap. Good luck.

Zach is a fine-looking dude whether he’s losing hair or not. But I honestly get how he feels. Other people may not care about the insecurities one person has, but if that person still feels insecure despite what others think, it’s still a pretty valid feeling to them. After all, you live your life for yourself. You should do what makes you feel happy and confident.
Ned fighting fashion fears, Eugene comings out of the closet, Keith exercising and Zack fighting agains something that bothers him. They're all phisically and mentally glowing up and I am here for it.
That's why he had that skin tight fade a while ago. It got a lot of comments in regards to being a horrible haircut. Now we know it was for the greater good.
I started losing my hair at 17 it compleatly ruined my self confidence made me feel like a freak and completely ruined my chances with girls. I had to where a cap for years before finally just shaving the hole mess off. Baldness is a bitter pill to swallow and I would not wish it on anyone
I m 21 and I lost 50 percent of my hair, I can literally see my scalp at the crown and my hairline is receding too. I just feel so depressed and feel like I haven't even started my life yet and I m gonna do...and things like this, o can't even talk to anyone...and it's just so depressing
I started realizing my hair was showing the first signs of thinning and my hairline receding as early as the age of 20. I ignored it for a while as I still had a full head of hair and could easily style it without needing to hide anything yet. At that point I didn't really believe I was balding anyway. I realized as a couple years passed that I spent more and more time in front of the mirror, looking every which way under the light to see if you could see my scalp. Nobody around me as far as I knew realized it yet or seemed to care, as it was just me hyperfocusing on very minor early signs and some very mild areas of thinning, but it really did a number on my self esteem. By the age of 22 I had some more visible signs of thinning and I just decided to start cutting my hair shorter and shorter, still looking in the mirror and carefully sculpting my hair to patch the thinner spots up, until I buzzed it all off one day out of the blue. It was a shock to my friends and family and we all had a laugh the first night I went out with them but I decided to own it from the beginning, take it as a move of pride, sort of "I'm balding, big deal, I'm doing this before I keep hurting my self-esteem and obsessing over my looks". Honestly? I've been so much happier since. It took time to adjust and to look at my own skull and accept that that was probably the look I'd see for the rest of my life, it did feel like closing a door in some sense, but I accept my big dumpy egg head and I love myself a lot more than I did back then.
These guys are incredible, it’s easy to forget as a girl that men also worry about their hair. Having a cool place to get this worked on without the stigma of balding, it’s so dope
At 11:14, they show the before and after pictures. The lighting is a lot brighter in the before picture. It does not even look like its the same color. They also combed the hair in the after picture in a swirl pattern to block the light from reflecting off of the scalp. I believe in this procedure but I hate it when they do misleading pictures like this. I am an imagery analyst BTW, lol.

Also, his back hair is growing up the back of his neck and connecting with the bottom back of his hairline! I'm SO glad that Zach has a good attitude about this. I think a lot of that is due to Maggie simply not caring if he has a full head of hair, or not. He finally knows he's loved and it's made a HUGE difference in Zach's self-confidence. He's such a sweet little man, and I've grown to love him in a motherly way from afar. Yes, I'm old enough to be his mom. In fact, my only child, a son, is a year or two older than Zach and he's noticing that his hair is thinning.

@goatstop Healthy would be whatever works for you. The point is to find whatever way you can feel good about yourself and not obsess over it anymore.
@Joe Dick There are two types of people who disapprove of this. Those who are balding but don't want to address it so they want others to stay at their level. And then there are those who aren't balding and thus can't really relate and have no business telling others what they should and shouldn't do.
@Joe Dick You only care what others do because you yourself are insecure.

I stan, koko. I stan 💪

At 11:14, they show the before and after pictures. The lighting is a lot brighter in the before picture. It does not even look like its the same color. @@calichef1962 honestly, with someone with such a personality it doesn't matter whether he has hair or not. Glad to know Maggie is like that :(
Zach: Today I’m changing the thing I hate most about my self
Me: How is he going to be taller?
Me me Big boi This is one of the rare insults where you don’t know if you should laugh or be annoyed.
Sometimes, I forget Zach was a stoner and the nitrous oxide reminded me "I haven't been this high since college!"😂😂😂
was? xD
He still is! Haha
He still is because of his bone-itis pain
@@saharamoon. lmao I forgot! Whoops
Thank you so much Zach for putting yourself out there like this. You are an awesome light for us other spoonies out here trying to get by
Spoonies unite!!
I looked like Zach at 22.
1½ years later I shaved it all off and felt so relieved; a bald head is my best decicion ever. Selfworth is key
You kinda need to have a beard or a masculine face to fit the bald look though
@@sigurdanholt2061 otherwise you look like a gopnik xD
@@sigurdanholt2061 Hell, he has enough hair he could rock a high and tight. That's what I did until I got to the point Martin did, but I was 24.
@@sigurdanholt2061 Johnny sins doesn't have a beard
He can't. He's got a weird camo tattoo on his head now. It'll just look like he has mange.
I literally thought the title said “balding my scalp for microblades”
hello zach! ive had trichotillomania since i was eight and first shaved my head when I was eleven. I tried to grow it out again but shaved it again at 15 and I’ve been bald since then. last night I decided to buy a wig to cover my hair while I try to grow out again. if it doesn’t work, that’s okay, I’ll still have a wig. we’re goin on our hair journeys together!
frankie b catt I hope you got a fun wig!!
frankie b catt Best of luck! I’ll be on the same journey as you❤️
frankie b catt I’m on the same path. I’ve never shaved my hair off, but I hope it grows back!
Same, there have been three things that have helped me so far though, Prenatal, Biotin, and directly puting pepirment extract on the scalp, and it causes it to grow hair, warning it does burn tho
i have trich as well, im rooting for you! 💛 being bald is such a look though, and wigs are FUN! all love from me to u 💘
Zachs deep tone voice just sounds like Keith's normal voice haha
That exactly what I was thinking
7:05 the laughs are exact
Zach: "I haven't gotten high this fast since college."
Me: "Wait, what?"😂
Zach and Keith are stoners from WAY back! I guess you didn't know that? They talked about it in the Driving Stoned video.
Just want to point out, it's "this early", not "this fast".
oh my god, I'm so excited about the new look. honestly, so proud of you. It's never easy talking or making decisions about solving your insecurities
