i am SO GLAD that Down exists...they really are their own genre...need need NEED to see these guys live...in the "an evening with down" format preferably.
Every time I hear, or listen to Down, I think of a friend of mine who died a year & a half ago. He absolutely adored Down! Dee was only 26 when he died, and although he was taken way too soon, he spent those 26years being the best friend anyone could ever have hoped for. He was always there for me, and I miss him so very, very much. RIP Dee xxx
@@jeremyjames1659yea I agree Pantera live there was none better.i do love me some down tho.that Nola album was a fucking masterpiece.pantera will always be my favorite band though
Fucking pure music. Love it! DOWN, Pantera, and other thrash, and heavy metal music, that's the pure energy, feelings, and magic. No one can take it out from us, even newshit radio and tv... Stay tune!
down are awesome as hell! one of my favourite bands out there. phil is doing an amazing job on the vocals. totally agree with Blade686. phil anselmo is one of the best singers I've ever heard! PHIL ANSELMO FTW!
@Tutuljko I think the lyrics to the song are quite abstract. I think it's just expressing Phil's (and the other guys) pride in New Orleans, especially in the face of adversity... they were all affected by Katrina, alot of the Over the Under album is about Katrina. You can really take whatever you want from a song when the lyrics are presented in an abstract way like this, and this is how I take it. Hope this helps, can't wait for Down IV.
im not a metal fan. ive never even heard any of panteras songs (for more then a few seconds). but i fucking LOVE this kick to the balls made entirely of sound xD
What are you talking about dude? His sound was fucking amazing on this album and if you listen closely you'll hear some awesome bass tracks! Rex left because he was tired of working with Phil for more than 20 years of his life, and I believe there's also a story going around that he had to leave due to his alcohol problems. But I don't mind he left, because Down has a new kick ass bassist and Kill Devil Hill is amazing! I can't wait for the new album, of both bands!
I can't wait to see these guys along with Black Label Society, The Devil You Know, and Butcher Babies, on May 2nd. It will be my 3rd time seeing Down and 5th or 6th time seeing BLS.
@Tutuljko it's "ACCEPT the eccentric faith..." and I can't really figure out this song too... but I think that "to sit high among the elect" is about "the first among chosen ones" and those chosen ones are, I think, these "saints". and "Be something that amounts to nothing the threat" is probably sayin " become something that nullifies the threat"... a ovo "Partake no tangible out in tomorrow" nemam pojma sta je xD
This is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard
They got plenty more where that came from.i hope in the last 11 years you've been listening to plenty of down like I have
Yeah BAD ASS FUKING SONG and that is studio. Gotta hear this one LIVE LIVE !!!!
You should have seen the tour.
It just slams. End of story.
I agree!❤

@@woody8577 Thats fkn awesome Mister-
Possibly the best live band I've ever seen translate their energy and own style into a video without actually showing a clip from one of their shows..
You must never have seen Pantera if you think Down is a better live show.
Pantera always my all time favourite band and on of the few bands I listen to that I've never seen live.
@@jeremyjames1659yea I agree Pantera live there was none better.i do love me some down tho.that Nola album was a fucking masterpiece.pantera will always be my favorite band though
Phil's "UUH!" at 0:49 sums up the badass-edness of this song, and Down in general.
Ever wanna know why I love New Orleans so much, here is why...
One of the greatest songs they did. I love the grainy black and white aspect as well. Great stuff.
Definitely one of the baddest jams ever recorded

Still kicks ass in 2021. Jimmy "John Bonham" Bower!!!
Jimmy Bower, tower of power!
Yeah right lol. I'd take Vince over Bower, Phil himself said Vince was the best he's ever played with.
