This may come off as harsh, but if you aren't watching this show then you are choosing to live a worse life.
I watched the original scavengers short years ago, so you can imagine my pleasant surprise when I stumbled upon this show with no prior knowledge of its existence. I absolutely loved it and I really hope it gets the attention it deserves.
I'm upset that this amazing show isn't getting the attention it deserves, while the same regurgitated mess that Hollywood keeps producing gets all the media attention, whether good or bad.
Yea it got thrown into the "GRRRR WOKE!" category by alot of people on first glance.

I have watched all 12 episodes of this show and I think it’s one of the best adult animated sci fi series shows of 2023.
I’d venture to say ‘ever’!
I’d argue to say that the lack of context to some of the things at the beginning is good- the characters discover new things about the world later in the series, but when at the start we sort of have to.. Catch up in a way?
The people on this planet have already adjusted to their beginning environments, using varying degrees of involvement, be it complete symbiosis or merely its soil- but are thrust out of that comfort zone on their journey, allowing us as the viewer to relate to that feeling of being out of your depth in an alien world
This was amazing. Like American-Miazaki. They really expounded on the short BEAUTIFULLY.
The show was incredible. I am hoping it catches on, it's so good, and so underrated. I just re-watched it again, and I almost never do that. The exception was Mr. Robot. I watched that 4 times in a year once I learned it had more than one season. The only people I've hear seriously complain about the show have been so disingenuous in their commentary that I've been left to wonder if there's anyone who could not possibly be intrigued by it, and also be in ANY WAY an interesting person to talk to.
I only found it by the similar feature on IMDb and wow what a great show.

im ok that it doesnt hand hold us and give us that setup/loop. I think thats what is setting this show apart from the typical hollywood stuff.
to me, it actually looked like i was watching someone playing a game? therefore, it would make a fantastic game!

It was very poorly promoted. I never heard of it until I was scrolling a list of what to watch on HBOMax and tried it on a whim. Very pleasantly surprised when I saw how damn good quality it is. Unpleasantly unsurprised when I learned it’s not on anyone’s radar and it’s not getting renewed.
