I'm an Irish citizen living in the US with a CDL B licence for bus driving here, I used to do long distance bus driving between NYC and Montreal. However my wife and I are planning to move to Spain and I was thinking of possibly getting my Irish licence then transferring to Spain. From what I understand I'd only need to do 6 lessons in Ireland after passing the permit test, however how would I go about getting a class D licence in Ireland if I already have a class B licence in the US? Thank you
Does it work like at 16yrs you can learn how to drive and then at like 17yrs you can get permit then after 6months with permit and taking 12 class of EDT or something then you can do the driving test and get your license if you pass? Or something like that? Im kind of confused on how it works
You can do theory test 16 When you pass at 17 apply for leaner permit and start your lessons and after 12 edt complete apply for driving test after the 6 months
Cheers for the info, just to check, do you still need to hold your Learns permit for a minimum of 6 months before you can book? (Obviously once you've completed your EDTs)
Hi, I just got an invitation to book for a driving test for the first time but the car I am going to use is not available on the dates. If I let the invitation expire (the email says they will send another link to rejoin the queue) will I be sent back from the end of waiting list again to book my test? Meaning I will wait months to get an invitation again? Thanks man.
😖😖😖 I forgot to mention this part. Apparently what students told me is when you click to rejoin the average invitation time is 2 weeks away and then select your dates

In my case (Mulhuddart) the waiting time is eight months. And you can't even apply til six months after getting your permit.

I don’t know for 100% but yes you do reduced Edts or 6 lessons and after you pass you can go for D

You can apply before that and pay but you won’t join the queue until your 6 months is up and 12 edt lessons logged
