VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Nicole is RAD solo female traveler who with the help of her Dad converted a Nissan 3500 NV van into her tiny home on wheels! Such an inspiring story of how she left the the 9-5 grind and all the "stuff" behind, and really learned to love herself while living on the road. Although it took her three years to build out, Nicole's home is equipped with tons of storage, a toilet and multiple extra seating areas. Being a graphic artist the design aesthetic is gorgeous, and the job also makes working remote possible. Such a fun tour and amazing woman, thanks for out Nicole!

I love the fridge that pulls out. Good for you enjoying life - we only go this way once and you are having fun.
The comment is the same across many many videos..."my dad did this, my dad did that". Thank goodness for Dads. Happy belated Fathers Day to all of us McGyvers out there keeping our daughters safe, warm and enabled.
Yes!! Dads are so underappreciated.
@@CR-wk2re super unappreciated
I’m sorry for your loss. What this past 15 months has taught me, and many others, is that tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Good luck on your journey and stay safe. Love from Australia.
Never seen a bed like hers. Ingenious system and very easy to use.
RB Components makes bench beds like that & can also be incorporated into a murphy bed.
Jul G That’s where I got the mechanism for the bed. Highly recommend. It’s awesome!!
“Spend today doing something you love”. Excellent Nicole. Your tribute and van are lovely. Thanks for sharing!
Love your van. I understand how you feel about taking advantage of living today. I as you worked in a corp world and one day I woke up paralyzed on my right side. I was diagnosed with MS. I just purchased a RV and plan to start traveling. I wish you the best.
I love the backstory of the cabinet handles! That was so awesome.
Edit: I am so very sorry for your loss.
I had an initial inspirational item like that. Bet a bunch of us did.
I've been acquiring components for a RV build for years but still haven't gone the last step and gotten the vehicle yet. So tempted to purchase a mini-circular saw to make the cabinets and bed supports. I'm a very young 73 and a lifelong do-it-yourselfer. I love planning and making things myself, but dislike marathon driving and climactic extremes. Guess I could take 3 months to cross the country or put the thing on a boat for somewhere overseas. I love how this young lady examined her life and changed things to suit her own value system.
I really like your van, the cabinet color is just perfect. My deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your brother & sister-in-law, sending up prayers for healing and comfort for you and everyone who loved them.
First thing I thought was “I love the colour of the kitchen cabinets” great minds..... 😀
I am so sorry for your loss. I love how you want to remember your brother and his wife with that painting. You have such a big heart.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery.
Every day is a gift. That's why we call it the present.
Good luck on your journey!
Hi dear lady, iam so sorry for the loss of your brother and sister in-law. I love the way you have symbolised them. They are with you always, all the best on your travels you are such a positive person, love and life be with you always. Love from australia.
So sorry for your loss. Glad you are doing what you love!
Oh my gosh! I'm so very sorry for your terrible loss. Your positive attitude, especially in the face of such tragedy, is amazing. Big, big hugs.
Ok, so I know this is way off topic BUT what you said from 3:32-4:00 resonated with me.. but for a different reason. I did the same thing when I knew I wanted to leave an abusive relationship back in '98. I saved money and started to buy things for my new place, like a shower curtain and bath towels. Doing that... getting the first steps in, made me follow through with the plan. So yea, I can understand what you mean about buying your cabinet handles 3yrs earlier. You took the first step to make your goal come true. 😍 So congrats
I love that. I'm proud of you for taking those steps to leave your abusive relationship and do what was best for you. It's crazy how those "little things" help you make the big moves. Good for you, good for us!
I LOVE how she designed her camper van. The sentimental ceiling is a beautiful addition and easily one of my favorite features in her van. I love that she did that.
Your van is so pretty and functional. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother and sister-in-law. You've honored their lives in a creative and beautiful way.
I love your story about your cabinet handles. You made your dream come true. I'm proud of you :)
This van is one of best examples to what I imagine for myself. It looks cozy, has enough storage space and it’s very practical, LOVE it! Save travels!
I love seeing how people put that oven in their van! It's such a staple and you've got it in there great.
Great van tour, I’m sorry for your family’s loss.. i lost my brother 3 years ago and I understand how hard it is to cope with losing a sibling.. I like your picture of the 3 trees and the north star, its a great way to remember them. I wish you the best on the road. Stay safe while traveling.. Peace and Blessings to you..
Thanks Toni, I really appreciate that. I'm sorry we're both in this club we didn't want to be in, but we're in it together. Thanks for your well wishes. Oh also, ironically my brothers name is Tony - I'm taking that as a sign that you commented. Thanks for the love, sending it right back at you.
She's so beautiful. I'm so sorry for your pain and loss
I saw someone wrap twine around their jars a couple of times and tie so that the jars didn't rattle in the cupboards.... I thought that was ingenious!
I use rubber bands on mine.
@@gail-sw9xg great idea...and a great way to store rubber bands👍
Thanks. And the twine is a cute look.
@@Lilliancooks rubber bands come in a lot of great colors and widths. Also helps to grip the jars when the lids are too tight.
Thank you. That will help me keep my sanity also look cute. Again thank u!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother and his wife. I live in the Salt Lake area of Utah, I remember this very clearly last year...such a horrible tragedy for your family.
Also, you're inspiring to me being able to work from your van as a graphic designer and artist! I'm a non-traditional (older) student in school for graphic design and art right now, and it's so amazing you've found a way to do work you love while doing the traveling you love as well. If I ever get done with school, and I'm not too old, I hope to do what you're doing someday, too! Thanks for sharing your van and all the creative ideas you have for making it work!
Thanks for the sympathy L Nord, you know how crazy that situation was since you live in SLC. It was really crazy to me having my family broadcasted so publically like that and seeing KSL be able to attend the funeral when I wasn't able to because of covid. (it was so new last April we didn't dare risk it, I watched from UA-cam like many others did) So wild.
Yay, happy to hear you're also in the design world. DO IT. I didn't realize this was the life I was setting up for myself as a student, but graphic design has opened the door to so many opportunities for me. I hope you enjoy the career as much as I have! :)
@@nicolebutterfield4797 I hope your family is healing and recovering from the terrible loss, although it is slow and takes time...especially after such a terrible, senseless loss. It's so sad you weren't able to attend the funeral, but I'm glad you were able to watch it online...the age of technology is such a blessing! My 78 yr old mom died in March, and my 85 yr old dad got pneumonia a month later and was in the hospital for nine days. I had the foresight to have him grab his ipad and charger, and his cell phone and charger, as I was taking him to the emergency room. We didn't know at the time he would be admitted or have such a long stay, but we are so grateful he had it so we could be with him online. So I'm really grateful for technology! I think it saved it his life, being able to be with us that way, since we couldn't be there in person.
I also love the technology in graphic design studying...I hope I'm able to finish my degree. I'm not sure who will hire me as someone who is older, but at least I will have learned a lot about doing something I love! I'm so happy to hear you're successful at it...I hope things continue to go really well for you!

Really cute Van I'm looking to experience Van life in the near future. I want to say also there are a handful of people that get the reflective right they are supposed to go on the window side, If I see one more Van lifer put it on the inside I'm going to scream lol enjoy your adventures my Condolences for your Brother I lost mine back in 2016. Many blessings.
You and your dad have done a terrific job on this van. It seems perfect for you. I love your art and it's symbolism. Stay safe and happy. My heart is with you during your transition time. My sister died in Mar 2021 and her husband died 30 days later. Neither deaths were expected. It's always horrible to lose a loved one. Keep on keeping on. Much love and light, Lyn Ayre, Coquitlam, BC, Canada

Sorry about your Brother and Sister in laws passing, in spirit they are with you , Thanks for sharing and I love to follow your journey to see more of your next adventures
I’m so sorry for your terrible loss... I cannot begin to imagine your sadness and despair at your brother and sister in law’s tragic deaths.
Hi Nichole, I love your attitude. Just bought a 1974 GMC Van. It needs a lot of work. It's a good thing i can do most of the work myself. I love being in nature. I am retired, so i have lots of time. Now if the fires in BC Canada would just go out. Stay safe.
Oops! Missed a word. You found what you needed. Many blessings again. Young lady. And thank you. For sharing your video. 🤗👍😁
Absolutely love the blue cabinets and the orange tint to the wood countertops!! They look perfect together!!
Her review of the van is so honest
Pretty amazing use of the space. The table and bed mechanisms are pretty smart.
Great van build. I'm SO sorry for the tragic loss of your brother and his wife! No words to adequately describe how tragic that is...
I'm so pleased you are living your life to the FULL and with meaning I'm sure that's what your brother and his wife would want and be so proud of what you are going and how you've done the van conversion aswell!

Lovely story on the cupboard handles Start Small GO BIG YES❣️❣️❣️❣️
I have watched a bunch of Van redo’s and so far I love the way you have done yours. Mostly the oven😄. You have put in lots of storage in an organized manor. Thank you. And of course it helps that it blue, my favorite color 😄

@@nicolebutterfield4797 that's awesome when and where is the next festival?and does he have a channel?
You can get the composting bags from Amazon to use for bathroom, they seal and discard, that may help. Good luck out there.
Yessss, you know what to do. I have some wag bags!
What a great tour! I loved hearing about your journey and I cried when you told the story of your brother and sister-in-law as you described the three trees and a star. All the best in your travels!
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Love your outlook on life! I spent so much of my time working and not spending time with loved ones and my brother passed u came to the same conclusions on you. Nothing is more important than LIVING your LIFE!
I agree!! I'm happy we have both figured this out. :)
My condolences and prayers to you and your family. I appreciate your tour and awesome attitude, thank you 👍🏼
Put a couple of elastic bands around each jar, that may stop the rattling.
Thank you for sharing your van. Very nicely done. Sorry for your loss. Blessings to you.
what a gal! ❤️
the story about the cabinet handles was so cool...also loved that iceco fridge, *smart.*
This is one of the best builds I have ever seen, amazing young lady you are, I will go subscribe, you youngins are living the life us older ones wish we had. Looking forward for more!
I start my van life next year. I’ve brought up my kids now it’s me time. It’s never too late to follow your dream. I just wish I had more energy like this lovely lady.
@@Madders23 good for you!!! I will be looking for you! I am nearly 70 and disabled, if I can get a good deal on a van or skoolie, I will be out there. I want to live the rest of my life, the lifestyle will make me get up and moving, going places I have never been sounds great! On beautiful woman!
Gorgeous lighting!
She just smiles an the picture sells...VanHalen
I left this off. Yours is the first video I have actually listened to all the way through. You make it easy. I look forward to more. I agree with what you say in that tomorrow is not guaranteed and to live life to the fullest which you are doing. I am sorry it took your brother’s death to make you realize that. Think of it as a way of honoring your brother. He would be so proud of you.
Great job! New ideas are always a good share & Thanks for sharing! I'd like to see more on the bed idea... Looks like a good idea. Stay safe and make memories!
Thank you for sharing your van. I love the "u-shaped-drawer" and every way you so non-chalantly make that space work. Awesome! Thank you, too, Chris -- good one!
Love your van. If you put 1 or 2 rubber bands (the wide kind that comes on celery) around your glass jars they won't rattle together. Plus they help you grip the jars when lids get a little too tight.
Amazing use of space and thank you for a very detailed tour
Hey Nicole I read up about your brother and his wife its so sad. Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you're living your life atm without worrying about the future.
_Very nice, and she is smart! It's about living, not about material things. You can't take it all with you, but what you can take is memories! Memories use no space, but space in your mind, with unlimited expansion!_
Thanks for lettings us in your cool, custom, and awesome home!
Well done, I'm a bit envious for sure ( but in a good-natured way) absolutely gorgeous and the van as well :) I'm in the early stages of the plan dumping the things that bind me to the wheel. I have also been struggling through a grieving period having lost all but one of my family my beautiful daughter gone are my mother and sister, my aunt and uncle as well as my ex-wife (we still loved one another although we were apart) all within this terrible pandemic. Not having enough time to finish grieving one loss before another began. Now I'm the last and all alone except for my child. So now my life path has changed completely I have quit the rat race to live for the things that make me happy and no longer the THINGS that bind me. So Happy trails to you and may you find peace from your loss.
I’m so sorry for your losses. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 It looks like you are creating a joyful life. Enjoy and take care!
Nice tour. Loved your van. Very well thought out. So sorry about your brother and his wife. My husband was killed many years ago. Hope all your dreams come true. 💕

Oh, I am really sorry. How terribly, terribly sad. Glad, that you talked about it. Thanks for sharing. God bless you in all your ways. Greetings from Germany. (Very nice van, you lucky girl, I would want one too.!)
If you slide socks onto the jars, they won't rattle or easily break
Thanx! I can use that.
Why didn’t I think of that!
@@cindylou943 I live in a school. And got that idea from a lady prepper who does the sock thing to keep her jars of dehydrated food from clanking together and breaking. Now you have a use for those Lone Ranger socks.🤗
I like the screw them into the bottom of the overhead cupboard idea because if they are just a few centimeters apart, they will never crash together and will make space for something else in the cabinet.
@@seattlerain4809 thank you, a good idea
