@@harrynac6017 Yes that's right, something like 50% of their diet is comprised of just one particular fruit, the wolf apple, lobeira or fruta do lobo, this plant which is common in the cerrado. Brazil’s savanna, also has the scientific name Solanum lycocarpum, the species name means wolf fruit, lyco is Greek for wolf and carpum is Latin for fruit, Solanum is the genus that contains tomatoes amongst other plants. Basically, this plant is named entirely for the fact. that the maned wolf eats its fruits and as a consequence distributes the seeds, they will eat other fruits, but the wolf apple is their favourite. The wolf’s long pointed snout and large ears are clearly adaptations for hunting rodents, but they will also hunt some birds and insects, they very rarely hunt larger animals like deer, because they are solitary, they don’t form packs like true wolves. For an animal that to look at, is obviously a carnivore, it seems strange that over half their diet can be made up of fruit.
They are so cute! They look like a Fox with a Deer's legs.
Yes, they are a little bit deer like, the colour of their fur and their long black legs is reminiscent of the marsh deer that’s also found in Brazil.
Opening to “Drop Dead Legs” starts playing

They are goofy and shy as hell lol. Also I don't think they can kill anything larger than a chicken and half of their diet is fruits and roots.
It's she and if you tried to touch her she would just run away.
As far as I know, they eat fruit and small rodents.
