Yes, it does not depend on your looks. However, Hedy Lamarr looks helped her to meet with people who brought her inventions to The White House. So, her looks contributed something.

@some people deserve to be humbled 4 good well one, stop saying “exotic” 😂 2) I didn’t say that having a UNIQUE name means your from that origin. I must meant that just cause your name sounds like it’s from a certain country or whatever, doesn’t mean you are 100% from that background. But I guess we can agree to disagree
It's very normal but it's not good. Look throughout history how many people want to look at some person as if they are supernatural. Even the idea of royalty as anything but violent and cunning people who want to exploit others is proof. It's also pretty shallow because we don't learn anything or truly appreciate the unique talents of an individual by pedestalizing them.

What a star✨️ Edit: I'm pretty sure everyone over 12 knows that Tesla is an homage to Nikola Tesla. Also, that Elon Musk used the name for his company to honor him.
Elon Musk didn’t name it. The two creators Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning did. Musk only became associated with Tesla after purchasing shares and becoming the largest shareholder a years later. People need to understand that Musk is an INVESTOR. That man didn’t create anything himself, he a rich person pretending to be the next Bill Gates. With that man’s ego, if Tesla wasn’t incorporated before he became a major shareholder, he would’ve probably named the company “Musk” and not Tesla.
@@bubba94290 mmm that would be pretty unfair to say, i mean he did create businesses and he did create the environment for the technologies to be created and even created some of the technologies early on, like deciding on building a fully operational rocket himself or the self landing, even though that was more something under him. For the record the other side the pretends Oh Elon revolutionary God Genius save us all is also far fetched and plain straight delusional
Hedy Lamar is one class act of the golden age of Hollywood. Both beauty AND brains. we have so much to thank her for : WIFI, GPS & Bluetooth. it is incredible.
She was brainy thief. Part of a conspiracy to steal and patent inventions of Tesla and others like Blacks who invented the hot air balloon and tons of other inventions that white people take credit for and profit off of. Then people like you glorify the fraudulent charade.
The most beautiful face in Hollywood. And the brightest mind, for sure. Too intelligent people always end to give up with society. Thank you to talk about her. People never talk enough about Hedy Lamarr.

i'm a media student and she was glossed over during my studies, I had to go out of my way to learn about her. says a lot about the patriarchy and how intimidating her beauty in combination with her brains were and still are, apparently. definitely one of the most interesting historical figures ever! I always have to give my respects to women in stem, especially those in generations before this one where it was definitely more difficult.
"there was no room for women in that field in those days." Not to underappreciate all that women of the past have done for the women of today, but sadly not a whole lot has changed...men still rule the world. No worries patience is a virtue 😘
She also helped invent the internet because of her designs for electrical impulse and voltage signals. She had a very high lQ too. Thanks so much for all that you do! I love your content. Keep doing what you do
Lamarr sent her oldest son, James, to boarding school when he was about 12 or 13 years old, and she never saw him again. She is said to have severed all ties with the boy, allowing him to live with the family of a teacher at the school. Her other two children claim not to remember ever seeing him around the house. She also failed to mention him in her will. He contested the will when she died in the year 2000. Supposedly, he was adopted during her marriage to Gene Markey, but later, it was proven that he was actually her natural son by John Loder, who became her third husband after she divorced Markey. Lamarr's daughter, Denise, stated that her mother once told her that James had 'hurt her.'
I can relate to her. I was always complimented on my figure/body. People stopped in the street to tell me things. I developed early in age and at one time considered cutting my breast off. I would be surrounded by the boys on the school bus upon trying to get off the bus at my stop, they grabbed ahold of anything they could reach, all while I'm punching and kicking to get away and off the bus. No the driver did nothing. I hated it. Didn't want to look like that and wanted to be liked for my mind, thoughts, ideas etc. I relate to her so very much.
That's so disgusting...I'm so sorry you went through such brutality since a very delicate age, it's heartbreaking....I'm sadly reminded of the movie Marlena as well. But you must be extremely strong and very grounded too to recognize this and guide you to not let all that admiration define you into only that - a trophy to be won and displayed at the mantle. Many young women sadly fall into that trap thinking going along with it brings them acceptance and recognition because people hate women who challenge over-affection as being ungrateful or conceited. Wish you the best for life!
Not trying to be rude, but you can’t relate to her. You were SAed and disrespected for your body, while Heddy was idolized for her beauty yo the point where it became unhealthy. You see the difference?
Those pics were before photoshop and filters of today. Just WOW! There’s so many incredibly beautiful smart and intelligent women out there. I’ve always believed that behind every great man is an even smarter woman in his ear, even though we know back in those days that women would never get the credit. This video was so interesting. Thank u so much!
I’m well aware of her scientific accomplishments and applaud her for them. But, as it says in the movie “BOMBSHELL “, “.. you just couldn’t get past her face.” I agree. She was THAT beautiful and like you stated, she took your breath away. Hollywood had tons of unsung and beyond beautiful women, but I do believe that she was one , if not THE , most beautiful in the world. Loved your updated version!
Vivian Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Crawford -- all black-haired, blue-eyed starletts of that era, and many were brunettes, so not "all blonds" as you thought. I think part of her exoticism was her sultry look and dramatic bone structure, not her dark hair. That all said, actresses dyed their hair much of the time, to the specifics of producers/agents, very dark or very light often, lots of fakery in hollywood, but they're all beautiful!
Hedy Lamar, such an amazing role model. Smart, beautiful, and kind. The real triple threat. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hedy Lamarr, was a gorgeous woman with an extraordinary intelligence. Having said that, Lamarr could almost pass as a sister of Vivian Leigh, they share that same remarkable beauty. As a matter of fact, the shot where Hedy Lamarr is looking at Clark Gable, 5:17 one could mistake her for Vivian Leigh.
Wow I had no idea about her inventions! I'm so shocked and also quite sad that she wasn't celebrated for them and a household name for her accomplishments. I had heard of her sure but only spoken about her beauty. I wish women but also people in general were celebrated most for the things they achieve and their character instead of like society where looks are the most important . For example kim kardashian
It was that way with women and with blacks. Elijah McCoy was one of the most famous. Often regarded as one of the most famous black inventors ever, McCoy was credited for 50 inventions over the span of his career. In an effort to improve efficiency and eliminate the frequent stopping necessary for lubrication of trains, McCoy devised a method of automating the task. In 1872 he developed a “lubricating cup” that could automatically drip oil when and where needed - vital in avoiding sticking to the track. The lubricating cup met with enormous success and orders for it came in from railroad companies all over the country. It was so popular that when other inventors attempted to steal his idea and sell their own versions of the device, companies were not fooled. They insisted on the authentic device, calling it “the Real McCoy.” He died an impoverished man and wasnt celebrated while he was alive.. That was shocking to me.
She was quite famous in her day. I'd say most people over 45 to 50 know of her and when my grandparents were alive she would have been considered very famous by them. Idk why she isn't more well known.
I love Hedy! I’m surprised you didn’t mention the drug use on set. It aged her drastically and she helped pioneer different surgical methods (hide these stitches behind the ear for minimal scarring, etc).
There was an unfortunately too short-lived show called Timeless which involved time travel. In one of the episodes they travel to the 40s and meet Hedy Lamar. That show could have been so awesome if it hadn’t been cancelled. I first heard of Hedy Lamar from that episode, and have been fascinated with her since. What an amazingly talented, brilliant woman! Wonderful video.
LaMar looks so much like Vivian Leigh… I didn’t realize she was Delilah in the old school Samson film!!!! I was mesmerized by her, tooooo!🤩 She is such a fascinating person. Thanks for the updated breakdown.👌🏼💞
Thank you so much for making this video on Hedy Lamarr. I admire her work and life. The way she invented the technologies we use today. So amazing. It is shame that she didn't get her flowers while she was alive.🎉❤️🎉
My Grandmother was Hungarian, Jewish and had black hair and blue gray eyes. Her sister had blond hair and blue eyes. Red hair and green eyes like mine are also in our family. Thank you for highlighting another fascinating woman. I love what you do.
Love her. I knew she was a smart woman and had many inventions. It's a shame women are barred from demonstrating their intellectual aptitude. The world would be such a better place if men would allow women to share their high potential to the world.
Hedy Lamarr was beautiful and brilliant. Today, she would be an independent inventor, not an actress. Back then, her beauty brought her to Hollywood. She was typecast in limiting roles based on her exotic beauty. She had a European sensibility and could have been a superstar with good roles there. But the money was in Hollywood and WWII was beginning. She was so brilliant that she invented Wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth. That, and "wings" for airplanes due to her collaboration with Howard Hughes. Am glad she received recognition before she died. But her beauty and genius worked against her then. She is an inspiration and way ahead of her time. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Miss Hedy Lamarr! Thanks, Karine, for your deep dive into this little known genius!
I''m happy to find another SDA UA-camr! I'm loving these profiles. I'm learning a lot. I heard of Hedy Lamarr while watching an episode of Legends of Tomorrow. I thought "What a woman!" Beautiful actress and inventor?! Awesome!
Totally UNDERSTANDING the fan girl aspect of this video! 😮 I never knew she was so wonderful (!) I love her film noir films I’ve seen, didn’t know she was that fabulous!
Karine the time and research you do you on celebrities that lived generations before your time is so moving. Hedy was given much and her beauty and brilliance were used to its fullest.
I work in medical research and I always get a double take care. I happened to work out a lot, eat healthy and quite feminine *nails done, hair, make up*😆
There was also mid 1800s English mathematician Ads Byron, Countess of Lovelace, 1 of world s 1st computer programmer. There is a feature film bio graphy about her, starring Australian Cate Blanchett.
There was an extremely beautiful black actress that I think you should do a report on by the name of Vera Frances. She was in the Ten Commandments as one of the slave girls. She had a difficult time in Hollywood. I would love for you to research her history and give us a report about this beautiful black actress.
It's so interesting how in the west/ America has this culture or idea that beautiful women can't be intelligent while in my country, The Philippines, we have this idea or culture that beautiful women or women who like to dress up, wear makeup, be high maintenance, etc. are expected to be smart because it would be seen as shameful if they aren't. We have alot of sayings which all mean "Beautiful but not smart", "Always trying to look beautiful but is stupid/ nothing inside their head". Handsome men dont really have that same expectation to be smart but when they are it's often praised in contrast to it just being expected of beautifu women. But the one thing both cultures have in common is the mysogny on (beautiful) women.
One of my all time favorite Hollywood icons. Thank you for all of these wonderful facts; I had no idea what a genius mind she possessed. This video provides a glimpse into how far women's rights have come since those years and will inspire many young women to own their genius! I love the musical background as well. Many thanks and much love!
Omg. I love watching your recaps on old Hollywood. I was raised SDA too, totally had the same experience growing up on bible films. Love your videos ❤❤
ive always adored hedy. her brains and beauty combo was not to be overlooked in the slightesy. some suggestions for future videos: peggy lipton, brenda sykes, leigh taylor young, olivia hussey, adele fatima.
Loved your video and all the very interesting information. As an English teacher I just need to correct the grammar: because the actress is deceased it's wrong to say "has achieved" etc. The correct expression is "had achieved" etc. Thank you for this truly eye-opening video!
New sub. Love the in depth, un-shy look at your chosen subjects. And your brother's music in the background sublime. Hedy is my favorite brains and beauty as well.
Isn’t it Always the case, where many beautiful women are not recognized for their deep and global encompassing perception with ideas to make it better.?
Her and I are both Scorpio suns Leo moons and cancer rising and I understand her view on the world , everyone his complex in their way of thinking always trying to prove eachother the “ better “ person
a true genius. your true worth must be known to all. We might have been very poor without your wonderful inventions. Very grateful for your work. Thanks again.
My no.1 hero I cant begin how similar I think like her and pretty sure my days will end the same my nan went to school with her ..and both ma nan and my aunt were also extremely unique minds
Hi Karine, I love your work here so much and so wonderful of you to point out the phenominal intellect of this highly diversified, overlooked and misunderstood lady. Did you know Johnny Depp wrote a song called "Hedy Lamar" and was performing it onstage this summer? Check that out, it's pretty cool! I do love listening to your lovely, relaxing voice and very interesting, compelling content. Ty much, it helps me get thru some tough days, my dear. Congrats on your great channel . Peace, love and blessings to you and all here
She was beautiful and intelligent and did some good films: not all of which, contrary to this video's claim typecast her as an alluring exotic. Also contrary to this video's comment that she was the rare brunette in a sea of blondes, Hedy was among many other attractive brunette actresses of her day! For instance Gene Tierney was as gorgeous (if not more so) and not blonde. Among many others...
I always knew she was beautiful but I had no idea about all of the other things & just how brilliant she was. I really enjoyed this breakdown. Thanks ❤from Australia
She was extraordinarily beautiful but her brain was possibly the most beautiful thing about her. It's a shame, like many genius's she was decades ahead of her time. I am glad she is recognised now, it would have been far better for all had she been recognised in her lifetime.
When I was in the Army Signal Corps & later in the phone company in the '80's, we knew about her patent, because it was often referenced when dealing with spread spectrum multiple frequency technology. Of course, as regular people became high tech in the 1990's, they began to realize, that this classic Hollywood actress had made a great technical contribution but was a little too far ahead of her time.
Sampson and Delilah is my fav Bible story. I've seen a scene 🎬here and there of the movie; cant help but be taken in by her beauty. I just didn't know this was her!
We would still have internet though, through wired connections, wi-fi just made it accessible to the masses through portable devices. Great lady with beauty and brains indeed. Sad she thought her beauty attracted the wrong people, when it was probably other deeper issues.
I hope this encourages women every where who has an interest in technology, science and invention! Don’t let society or your looks interfere with your passions. Who knows, maybe one day you can develop something that changes the world forever 💛✨

Thank you so much for making this video on Hedy Lamarr. I admire her work and life. The way she invented the technologies we use today. So amazing. It is shame that she didn't get her flowers while she was alive.🎉❤️🎉
She didn't anything...her contribution towards technologies that we used today is just a myth
My Grandmother was Hungarian, Jewish and had black hair and blue gray eyes. Her sister had blond hair and blue eyes. Red hair and green eyes like mine are also in our family. Thank you for highlighting another fascinating woman. I love what you do.
Her "Do it anyway" monologue - words to live.
Love her. I knew she was a smart woman and had many inventions. It's a shame women are barred from demonstrating their intellectual aptitude. The world would be such a better place if men would allow women to share their high potential to the world.
I LOVE Hedy Lamarr. As a woman who works in STEM, she’s one of my inspirations.
I learned about her when Google did a tribute to her. I thought, what a woman!
Loved this breakdown. Also for mentioning Tesla! And YES to that breakdown. I’ve read a bit about him and his story & intelligence is SO intriguing!
I would love a breakdown on Nikola Tesla, such an incredible scientist!
I have seen couple of your videos. I had to praise you because a lot of research goes into making them. Thank you .
I've always thought Heddy Lamar was absolutely beautiful but I think her soul and her humanity far outshined her outer beauty.
I’m loving your channel more and more!!! Hedy Lamar ultimate legend!!
I've been waiting for you to do a series on her, LOVE Hedy Lamar! LOVE that opening passage.
Me too!! I loved her since Samson and Delilah!😍
Karine the time and research you do you on celebrities that lived generations before your time is so moving. Hedy was given much and her beauty and brilliance were used to its fullest.
I sure knew that was Hedy Lamarr in Samson and Delilah.
Any movie she was in..I readily recognized her.
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for bringing these interesting characters to the modern day audience.
I work in medical research and I always get a double take care. I happened to work out a lot, eat healthy and quite feminine *nails done, hair, make up*😆
Yes i relate to that i’m healthy and fit and eat clean for the most part and people can’t believe i’m turning 50 next year
if it weren't for her, I wouldn't have these hearing aids with Bluetooth
also, I love your channel so much!
💕💕💕💕💕
There was also mid 1800s English mathematician Ads Byron, Countess of
Lovelace, 1 of world s 1st computer programmer. There is a feature film bio
graphy about her, starring Australian
Cate Blanchett.
Yo!!! I was so awestruck when I first learned about Hedy!!! Definitely impressed thank you for this commentary..
Omg the intro.... Something tells me I'm going to love her!!
There was an extremely beautiful black actress that I think you should do a report on by the name of Vera Frances. She was in the Ten Commandments as one of the slave girls. She had a difficult time in Hollywood. I
would love for you to research her history and give us a report about this beautiful black actress.
I respect your culture on their perspective on women . It would definitely be a shame to walk around like your priorities aren’t straight .
But the hypocrisy that men can walk around without the right priorities.@@ambin916
One of my favorite actresses. She was stunning in "Sampson and Delilah." So incredibly intelligent and beautiful.
Totally amazing woman that shows what strength and believing in oneself is the answer!
ive always adored hedy. her brains and beauty combo was not to be overlooked in the slightesy. some suggestions for future videos: peggy lipton, brenda sykes, leigh taylor young, olivia hussey, adele fatima.
Loved your video and all the very interesting information. As an English teacher I just need to correct the grammar: because the actress is deceased it's wrong to say "has achieved" etc. The correct expression is "had achieved" etc. Thank you for this truly eye-opening video!
She Had Beauty & Brains & A Trailblazer!⭐& Thanks K.A.💐💗
She was a great women but she didn’t invent bluetooth,Wi-Fi or GPS she invented frequency hopping which would go on to HELP invent Wi-Fi etc
I love her she was genius and beauty,I love her face shape her lips and nose.
New sub. Love the in depth, un-shy look at your chosen subjects. And your brother's music in the background sublime.
Hedy is my favorite brains and beauty as well.
Yes please, Nicola Tesla! I adore him! And thank you so much for Hedy, she was beyond amazing!
So I’m scrolling and found this….
No coincidence
God wanted me to hear this…
I’m on a long awaited journey…
Thank you
Isn’t it Always the case, where many beautiful women are not recognized for their deep and global encompassing perception with ideas to make it better.?
I love ALL your reviews, but this one, in particular, is outstanding. Thank you for sharing like you do. God bless you richly!
many women are forced to leave telenovelas once they marry bigger or higher known men this saddens me
Her and I are both Scorpio suns Leo moons and cancer rising and I understand her view on the world , everyone his complex in their way of thinking always trying to prove eachother the “ better “ person
a true genius. your true worth must be known to all. We might have been very poor without your wonderful inventions.
Very grateful for your work.
Thanks again.
KARINEQUEEN 👑👑👑
My birthday was this past Saturday (the 20th) 😊
Happy birthday my love! ✨💛😍
Peace, love and blessings to you and all here
Love her. She is gorgeous 😍
I love that “Build anyway.” I’m keeping that one in my head.
I just love your channel & aura
😍🥹❤️
I've *always loved Hedy Lamarr.*
One of the most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen.
I’m glad she was appreciated in the end ❤
I'd love to see a breakdown on Linda Darnell, beautiful actress of the 40s and 50s, passed away too young
My grandmother was 100% Hungarian so beautiful dark hair green eyes.
She was gorgeous, talented and intelligent.
Sampson and Delilah is my fav Bible story. I've seen a scene 🎬here and there of the movie; cant help but be taken in by her beauty. I just didn't know this was her!
Incredible women , l love her and thanks Karine for sharing this video 😊
We would still have internet though, through wired connections, wi-fi just made it accessible to the masses through portable devices. Great lady with beauty and brains indeed. Sad she thought her beauty attracted the wrong people, when it was probably other deeper issues.
I agree with you Karine 💯 HL such an intelligent person.
I have heard her name, but I knew nothing about her. Thanks for the info. I agreed with your comments.
