I lived in Champaign briefly in 1975 (Bromely Hall which you showed briefly) but I left to attend Ohio State. A lot had changed since then of course but I noticed a couple of places that have amazingly survived, the Red Lion (first bar I visited when I got there) and Murphy's Tavern. I enjoyed you video tremendously, thank you very much for sharing.
I graduated from the U of I in 1980. I was a townie from Urbana. I still live here. I walked down Green St. a couple of months ago. Nearly unrecognizable to me in a lot of ways. There were no buildings higher than 3 floors back then.....certainly no apartment high rises. The Quad looks basically the same to me. I always walk down the Quad in Spring when the trees are blooming and in the Fall. So pretty. I love this campus. You did a super job on this vid. I sure enjoyed it. TY Rusty
I’m impressed with the modern street design of Campustown, it’s pedestrian friendly & it has a lovely human scale. However, I was surprised I saw so few people on the streets, was it the time of day, were the students away, or was this video made during a Pandemic lockdown?
I miss walking around campus and Campustown. Cherish your time there.

I missed everything here!!! Wish I can turn back time
Did you go for your graduate or undergraduate studies?
@@roxanneg6538 I graduated in 2018 with my master
@@Jiajinpin Congrats! :) It seems like a great university!
Hi ,my daghuter star this year .Look is so nice .🥰💕
Wow, KAM’S is now super-deluxe and way out by First Street. Red Lion Inn still there. Campus town used to be mainly bars, now more fast-food chains.
The campus looks more like downtown than the actual one.
Pretty tight seeing ppl make these vids
Nice walk video throughout campustown with beautiful sunshine autumn season in Champaign Illinois 👍 🍂🍁

This was filmed in October of 2020, so it was still mid-lockdown.
