omg Im half way through and loving it......I do a lot of cat photography and am often trying stuff with ours at home...( we have Toulouse's twin I think!) and I cant stop laughing as its like watching myself doing a session, everything Toulouse is doing, the things you are saying, the steady build up of toys and treats on the table, its just brilliant, thank you so much for sharing this. I think Furry Fritz was the first photographer to do these? And it's such a fun idea, so now watching you I am determined to give it a go, ....ok....off to watch the rest of it, thanks again! edit...finished and have to say I agree with you, the black edits are stunning, and I love how you started off with an idea of what you wanted, but what you liked the best were quite different, gorgeous images as is Toulouse!!
This is literally a series created by the German cat photographer Furryfritz. I am fairly certain he’s the one whom originated this series. He’s a very talented photographer, so I am happy to give him credit here. Thanks for this video, and the cat is absolutely adorable !
Hi Andrew, cracking video, really love cats, yours is lovely and superb shots as well... If I had a cat I would have a go at that one....He is gorgeous, have a happy new year Colin Devon uk...
One of your best videos Andrew, and I loved it. I too have a ginger car who has his own IG page. He is my go to model if I want to test new gear, new ideas or techniques. I had this very idea, and also a bokeh light balls portrait of my cat. Using the Xmas tree lights bend my cat and sit him in around a door frame to get that Instagram Model portrait boheh shot ! This is great photo work for winter months.
Really enjoyed the studio video with the cat. I am in the process of creating my own studio in the garage so i hope i can try some of your studio tutorials. thanks again Danny
Great photoshoot. Love the idea. 😀 Recently I also did cats portrait at home, but more in christmas/holiday theme. One of my cats (the ginger one) is like a photomodel. If he see a camera he immidiately make big eyes, stare in the lens and can stay in place almost forever, but the other one (gray tabby) can't stay in place for one second and run away from the camera. It was difficult session to take at least one good picture with both cats together. 🤣
Sounds like you'd need infinite patience! I think mine was very happy just poking through the hole as long as the treats kept coming! Did you get nice shots in the end?
Brilliant, such a lovely cat 😍 if you were to start right at the very beginning of studio photography what would be your must have totally necessary items?
omg , i am a photographer and my cat is verry ill , she is actually is at the end of her life.... i am verry sad about that, but i enjoy your pictures... enjoy that he destroys your backdrop ; i do so ! ;-)) he is so lovely ...i wish him a a long and healty life ! Pedro , Belgium
Yeah, the black is best too. I remember reading that the old Mission Impossible TV show used monochrome gray and black clothing and sets so that the faces and explosions would pop. This was the '60s and we had a black & white TV, so I didn't get to enjoy the concept myself.@@AndrewLanxonPhotography
Definitely give it a go! It takes some patience but if you can commit a day to it then the results could be amazing. I'd love to see these shots with a dog!
That was fun to watch and you got some fantastic shots. Although, once those Dreamies came out you had lost the battle of keeping Toulouse behind the paper. Thanks for the inspiration, and I might give it a go myself. Although I can't see my two cats being as co-operative.
Working with animals is rarely easy. However, your cat really lived up to your expectations. The results are beautiful images and a very informative video. ❤❤❤ The only questions I would have is the setting of your Godox flash and the aperture. Thank you and Merry Christmas …
He performed exceptionally well I think! I couldn't have hired a better model. Settings of the flash I don't really know. Around 1/32 I think? I have it in manual mode and I don't look at the power, I simply adjust until it looks like I want it. Which isn't a particularly helpful lesson, but it just comes down to 'try and try again' until you get there!
I love at this idea. Well done! I have to say that your cat made me laugh. You have inspired me to try this with my two dogs. Did you use TTL or manual for your flash?
Thank you very much! He's a good entertainer! I had it on manual mode, controlling it from the trigger on top of my camera. I never shoot in TTL to be honest.
I love this. I've seen these images in insta too. I've just bought a flash and love macro. Do you have any tutorials on manual flash for macro at all? I've seen a few macro ones but not in detail about manual flash.
I have one question though, i'll try this with my cat, Can you share how you set up the ad200 with the camera as i believe i have the same Gear but just starting using the godox
This is awesome I need to try this! Where did you get you paper from and what's the width? Oh also love how you picked him up with his feet together 😂😂
Thanks Gary, it's one from Canon. Can't remember the specific one but it has the timers etc built in. It wasn't cheap, from what I remember, but then canon accessories never are.
Did my cat do well as a model?
Very well, actually.
Lovely, and I’m not even a cat person 😂
He’s gorgeous ❤
Pawsitively!! ☮️💟
He was purrrfect 😻
Great shots! Such a fun and interesting idea. I have 4 cats, challenge excepted! 😂

He did great, so did you.
I actually like when he put his paw through the hole, it looks cute.
This shot is so creative.
Brilliant!
Your "little ginger menace" is adorable and very patient! Love these.
He's SO patient! And he was rewarded with many cuddles.
Toulouse is beautiful, I'm going to have to try this with Kelani our 16mth old marbled ginger
Thank you so much! Good luck giving it a try!
Great photo shoot! I love this! Your cat is a natural and he's adorable.

Nice! I hope it goes well and you get some great shots with it!
I absolutely love this video and your edits!!!!
I have a sweet ginger with gold eyes and I have to demo this!!!

I love your cat! I have two cats and I might give it a try although I don’t know if they will be as patient as Toulouse.
Looks fun! I will definitely try this!
What a great idea, this will my next month’s indoor project.
Good luck!
wow great job with these and the video.must have been super hard to get. your cat is also stunning!

That one-eyed shot for the win.
Thanks! Is that your favourite of the set?
Yeah, the black is best too.

Fantastic idea and expertly executed as usual. You are an inspiration to us all.
Thanks so much!
This was such a fun video to watch. Your cat is gorgeous. He did really well.
Thank you!
MGM Studio's lion on a small scale 🐱.
Ha! Yes!
So much fun to watch, and I'm inspired to try something like with my dog. I think your cat was a great model.
Definitely give it a go! It takes some patience but if you can commit a day to it then the results could be amazing. I'd love to see these shots with a dog!
@@AndrewLanxonPhotography I'll need the whole paper. My boy is not small. He also drools a lot if he sees treats. Lol.
Awww I thoroughly enjoyed that...gorgeous cat ❤
Thanks for watching! I'll pass on your compliments to the boy himself!

Haha well good luck if you give it a try! The treats definitely make it a little easier to tempt them into shot!
Oh I just love this! Well done
Thanks!
Very nice idea!
Thank you!

awesome moments captured - absolutely no way my little dog would co-operate with this lol
Thanks! Maybe a handful of treats would convince them!
This is awesome I need to try this! Where did you get you paper from and what's the width? Oh also love how you picked him up with his feet together 😂😂
Awwwwwwww 😻😻😻😻😻
That looks so cool well done both. That must have taken ages to do.
Thanks Paul! Just plenty of patience!
Great Vid. What is the brand/model of your remote release?
Thanks Gary, it's one from Canon. Can't remember the specific one but it has the timers etc built in. It wasn't cheap, from what I remember, but then canon accessories never are.
What lens did you use on that ?
Great pictures and extremely creative , but I hate lawn shitters. . 🤭😁
