  • BENELLI M4 FULL TUTORIAL ON UPGRADES - PART 3
    ~922(r) compliance: replacing the hammer, trigger, and disconnector with FFT US-made parts. Same procedure for Benelli M1/M2/M3/M4, Super Black Eagle I/II/III, Stoeger 2000/3000/3500/P350, Franchi Intensity/Affinity
    ~This is my complete tutorial on how to upgrade the Benelli m4. I made this tutorial because I wanted a Benelli owner to be able to watch this video and be able to upgrade many things without watching many videos that take too long to explain everything. Also, I try to explain and go into as much detail as I could.
    *****************
    ~For the record, in part 3, which is this, I'll be replacing the hammer, trigger, and disconnector with USA made parts so I am 922(r) compliant as of the end of this video.
    ~I'll be using the Freedom Fighter Tactical (FFT) TRIGGER PACK UPGRADE including the relevant springs
    *****************
    ~I separated the video into separate parts just in case you want to skip around. Here is the breakdown:
    Intro/922(r) - 00:00:00
    Disassembly - 00:02:15
    Assembly - 00:11:57
    ~Trigger
    ~Hammer
    ~Disconnector
    ~Hammer Spring
    ~Carrier Spring
    ~Trigger Spring
    ~Disconnector Spring
    *You will need RING PLIERS for the Benelli M4; if you're replacing the magazine tube, you will definitely need this tool (they vary in cost, but I got a more expensive one because there are more things you can do with this specific one): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...

    ~A major question people have regarding this gun is: is it worth the $2000 price tag? ABSOLUTELY YES. Don't buy a Mossberg 930 or Benelli M2 or something similar if you don't have enough money. Will you be satisfied with one of those other guns? Yes, but only satisfied. Save your money until you can buy the M4. The Benelli M4 is a top-notch shotgun designed to fire anytime, anywhere, with any ammo, in any condition.
    ~Unfortunately, due to UA-cam's new, albeit biased, policies on what can and cannot be featured on their site with respect to firearms and ammunition, I have to revise my descriptions. So, I will be unable to put links in the description or video that lead to firearms, accessories, or ammunition. Of course, you can simply Google the name of the entity in which you are looking for. But, if truly can't find something by Googling it, just let me know in the comment section and I will do my best to get back to you.

    As ive just gotten around to purchasing one of these shotguns, I found this to be very informative so as to save money on paying a gunsmith to do it.
    The package with my full size barrel and other 922r components hasn't arrived yet, but - in spite of needing to go to the store and pick up a tool I haven't previously needed - with the help of this video I was able to easily tear down and rebuild the trigger group after never having done anything like this before.
    Your pacing is excellent, the long-form presentation is incredibly useful, and I am no longer intimidated by the prospect of performing in-depth maintenance of my own guns.
    Thank you.

    Totally great video. Thank God you focused when you did. For a bit there I thought the most important parts were going to be blurry. That was a very informative video. I am about to embark on the same adventure. FFT recommends doing either the hammer, or the trigger, disconnecter first. You did all of it at the same time. I like your way, any problems with that? Also, you said you had to shave down the disconnecter? What did you use to shave it, Dremel, file? And how much...ish? Thanks and keep up the great stuff.

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the comment. I'm glad it was helpful. I just never really found a video that shows everything super clearly, so I wanted to put this out there for anyone in a similar position that I was in.
      It honestly wasn't that bad. The problem is doing it right and knowing what you're doing. You may have to pause and unpause and rewind often, but that's okay. It takes a while (or can take a while at first) if it's the first time. But after doing it multiple times of troubleshooting with the shaving the disconnector, i was able to do basically the entire video in 1-3 minutes because I knew EXACTLY what to do. But again, don't worry about that. It's really not difficult. Just make sure you don't lose pieces. That can be very bad.
      Oh so I used this "electric knife and tool sharpener" only because i had it. It just has an abrasive belt that goes around in a circle. I mean i feel like you could just use a hand file. I wouldn't use anything that you can't control how much comes off. I don't even know if this problem would happen to you. It may. It may not. But let me just say i only removed a HAIR worth of material. Except for the fact that it looks a bit rounded, you wouldn't know i sanded it down. So again, very very very very little needs to come off. Like a 1/10 of a mm if anything. Then you just do trial and error with the trigger. This is when you'll become a natural taking it apart and putting it back together IF you even have this problem.

      @@ELITEkickBOXER Thanks again for all the useful info. I am going to make sure I have everything ready to go and the time to get it done without interruptions. It is crazy we even have to do this. Common sense gun laws! Right...I would like to ask if you have noticed any improvements in the trigger pull or if it is basically the same. FFT says about 2lbs difference I think. I am going to watch your video another 3 or 4 times before I even attempt, but it doesn't look difficult, just precise. thanks

      @@tommorrison8424 Anytime. I'm glad I can help. Yes definitely watch it a few times until you believe you know what you're doing. Even then i probably would be just pausing and playing constantly when i actually do it.
      I haven't fired the firearm in a long time unfortunately. So i really have no idea if it reduced the pull by that amount or it feels the same. Sorry about that.

    You said at the end that you replaced 3 parts & need to do one more to be 922(r) compliant. Everyone I have talked to or heard from says you need to change a total of 3 parts only need 4 if you are changing a field stock to the Benelli Collapsable stock. Can you please clarify?

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  Рік тому

      Yes, I see what you mean. The 922(r) compliance has to deal with a firearm having 10 or fewer foreign parts for it to be considered legal and meet the criteria for this law. Note that only particular parts will contribute to this limit, while other parts do not matter (according to the law) if they are foreign or not. The parts that count toward the 10 and that if foreign can be replaced with USA made parts include the Receiver, Barrel, Bolt, Bolt carrier, Gas piston, Trigger housing, Trigger, Hammer, Disconnector, Buttstock (with integral pistol grip), Forearm/handguard (forend), Magazine body, and Follower.
      As of the end of this video, after going back to rewatch it, my particular firearm is legally compliant with 922(r) due to the modifications I made. However, if for instance, you replace the magazine tube with the full capacity 7 round tube (not just a +2 extension, as I have the full length 7 round tube) or replace the stock with a non-USA made stock, you will need to change a fourth item to make it compliant. In the other videos (parts 1 & 2) I did change some other things to USA made parts, so again it is finally compliant as of the end of this video.
      I understand this may not make the most sense. I would HIGHLY recommend you click this link as the website has an extremely detailed description of this 922(r) compliance that I would think will basically guarantee to answer any of your questions: freedomfightertactical.com/pages/922r-faq

    If I buy a non pistol grip M4 do I still need to worry about 922R?

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  Рік тому

      922R only comes into play if you modify the firearm after you take possession of it, to the best of my non-legal advice. If you don't change anything on it after you get it, it should be compliant to start with. Once you go changing things (remember only certain things count toward 922R--amd check the description for details), then it may play a part if you decide to swap one thing out for another

      @@ELITEkickBOXER I'm having the same problem. I'm probably going to try a hand file on the disconnector but I'm just curious, do you think I could get away with filing the part of the hammer where it makes contact instead of the disconnector? @ELITEkickBOXER  2 роки тому

      @@jkees6751 As much as I'd love to answer your question, I'm not a professional and really can't give you a good answer. I just filed the disconnector because it was easiest for me and could always replace it (although costly) if need be. I'm sure you COULD file the hammer down, I just can't say how easy it would be and/or how effective it might be. It could be better or equivalent to filing down the disconnector itself, I apologize I truly don't know.

      @@TheDwchan In hindsight, considering the price of the kit and the fact it's made custom for this particular firearm is both disappointing and aggravating that it needs to be filed down at all. Have to go back and watch the video again

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  Рік тому

      @@TheDwchan Specifically, I used this: amzn.to/3D5GBGQ
      However, I had that on hand already. Something with a belt sanding ability to easily control how much material is what I used, but I don't see why an average file can't do it.
      Unfortunately, yes. Expect there to be a possibility of some manual adjustment.
      Well it depends on the number of parts you have already replaced. I would read this and see how it applies to you: freedomfightertactical.com/pages/922r-faq
      However, and don't quote me on this, if you want to increase your magazine capacity or do something where you're changing out factory parts, you legally cannot exceed a certain amount of foreign parts (not any part in random, they are limited to certain parts -- again read the link) in the firearm. So depending on the number of foreign parts (according to a specific list), you have, you may or may not need to install all three pieces.

Am looking at Briley Manufacturing for another option. Only drawback is that you have to send the trigger group in for them to do the work. But at least you don’t have to worry about something not working.
