@Skinny.pretty.girl101 His point was firstly, that he doesn't choose white or black. He's not choosing from a catalog of children to see who he'd like to help the most. He just gets a call about who needs help. And Secondly, abuse knows no color. Yes,plenty of black kids need help. But so do plenty of white kids. What matters is that CHILDREN are in need. Color has nothing to do with it.

@Skinny.pretty.girl101 I'm sorry that happened to you 😢😢 it may be because he is in the upper middle class area, and we know that those areas are still showing evidence of past an present segregation, and of course we know the many reasons why places that still segregated etcetera
So he's working among an area that's going to be more likely to have white abused children and the black community is more likely to have family members that are willing to take in a child that has been abused in their own family,
A lot of us white people lost culture and the family unit so that it'll be less likely that a child will be able to get placed with a family member especially if the child is mixed race in a white family
We need more foster parents in the black community, and in general and especially in areas where there are larger black populations, that have been affected by the War on Drugs which brought on generational trauma and poverty and loss of what we know are many cases of loss of inheritance due to the racist system
I can't tell for sure, but I know that they don't take the seed over at the sperm banks from black men in black women are unable to procure themself the seed of Their Own race,
So I'm wondering if this broken Foster system, this utterly broken trashy Foster system, is not giving enough black families a chance to become foster parents😢😢

We have friends that have fostered a ton of kids, and ended up adopting 18 of them…all races. They are white. But they found that it is easier for white to adopt black kids than white ones for themselves. They also started adopting kids as they aged out of the foster care system. Unfortunately, one of the ones they adopted ended up getting addicted to meth so they are raising their 3 grandkids.
They have a heart of gold. She is a TA and he is a maintenance person. So you don’t have to have a ton of money to adopt them out of the foster care system.

My grandma had around 50 children in her home throughout the years as a foster parent. She only took girls because that is what she was comfortable with. She would have 3 to 4 kids at a time. Many of the kids that aged out are still part of our family. They still call my grandma, mom. Some foster homes are wonderful and some are not. I’m so happy to see Peter providing a good home and loving any child he fosters or adopts.

I was a single foster/adopt parent also. And most of us who do/ did this for the right reason (love for children and the desire to help) really don't care what color they are. Sometimes when they asked if I could take the child the race either was not mentioned or it was one of the last things discussed. I had black, white, Hispanic and mixed kids over the years and they all needed to be loved and protected and neither my skin color or theirs mattered.

I have 2 daughter of a different race that joined my family through adoption. One thing I learned from a book on international adoption is how to handle questions that seem rude or invasive. Just ask “why do you ask?” I often found they were trying to start a conversation - they might be thinking about adoption and want to find out how or they want to talk about a family member who just adopted. If they were just plain being rude - answering a question with a question stops them.

Her answer: they were the ones who needed a home! Also, she lives in an area that's mostly white. So, for her it's out of the question to specify, even if she wanted to. She adopted her kids when they were babies, but I can't remember whether she fostered them first. They're doing great! 💞

Thanks for your honest emotional responses to these questions. It is true that as a single dad, you have to learn to be a mum too. I've been a single dad for almost 10 years and had to consciously build up my nurturing abilities to make up for the absence of a mother.

Thanks for favouring my comment. But, now that I have your attention... Can I advise that you shouldn't be too eager to take on more kids. Remember, you are only one person and you will not be able to provide each child with the care they need if you spread yourself too thin. The "dad-taxi" responsibilities alone will wear you out!

Mr. Peter if there is 57% of Hispanic Indian and black children in foster care, why is it that you are only adopting white children and fostering mostly white children that was the question from one of your commentators and I saw where you danced around the answer
when you open up your home to the world people are going to ask you those type of questions
You seem to be a kind person but anytime people dance around the answer of a question it’s either they don’t have the answer or they’re not comfortable with answering
It’s very heartwarming to see one caring for another one and it’s truly coming from the heart. That’s a God-given love and if you are as kind as you seem to be on social media when no one‘s looking, but God then you are truly doing a good thing, but just putting me Out there I always want to be where I am most needed. I must always show love to all my neighbors and my neighbors are all around the world. My neighbors don’t have a certain look. They don’t have a certain bank account. They don’t have a certain skin type all they are just human And the scriptures teach us to love thy neighbor is thy self

Hi Peter, I so appreciate you and all that you offer to children/teens. I was asked the same question, although I had all races of children in my home. I wanted to adopt a little red-headed white child-not because of her color-but because I had her since the age of 8 months and she turned 2 years in my home-we love that precious lil soul-the system took her away and she was adopted by a family of her race. The devastation that little girl went through bcz we were the only family she knew. I pray that people will open their hearts and minds in knowing that "LOVE" does not have color. Be blessed my friend and continue teaching people, what you know and loving children. Do not be sorry-you are a blessing to all children no matter whether they are in your home or not. 💙💝 You have a HEART of GOLD

I'm a social worker and it makes me sad when foster parents say no to children simple because of their ethnicity. It makes me realize more how much of a racist society we have. You should add too, that you take teenagers - so many foster parents say no to teenagers, but as you say the children need a home. Foster parents here the word teen and immediately say no. There is so much pressure on foster children to be the perfect children and "right" ethnicity or they have to move to a different home. I remember reading a book about a foster parent who took placement of two African-American children, she was told that they were well-behaved children, but hard to place because of their ethnicity. They were well-behaved children, but too many foster parents say no to African-American children. But, even more say no to teenagers.

Those color based slurs were created to justify theft of native peoples' property, as an excuse to murder without consequences, and to persecute, harass, and deny rights and privaledges that they demand as exclusively theirs.
