I could not believe it could stink that bad, even though I'd been warned to expect it. After squeezing out what she could, the person doing it cleaned out the wound with antiseptic and a swab. Then she packed a long strip of gauze that looked kind of like a shoelace, into the wound. She left a tail of it sticking out and said so long as it has quit draining go ahead and pull the gauze out. It didn't hurt, just felt really weird as it was pulled out. Put some neosporin and a bandaid on it. Three days later you couldn't tell there had been anything there.
From what I've learnt the pressure of having such a large cyst is released as soon as it's cut. It also makes a difference whether it's infected or not. @@amyrivers4093 it was indeed infected, that's why the smell was so bad. It's a smell I shall never forget, and hope to never experience again. In your last comment you mentioned the sac. The doc did remove the sac, it came out in one piece after she expressed all of the infected sebum. It was after the sac removal that she swabbed the wound with the antiseptic. Also, the packing that she inserted was also treated with the antiseptic. I guess the idea was to provide drainage and a continuous supply of antiseptics for the wound. It was successful. The wound did not get infected and it healed in just a few days. Today there is no trace of a scar or any mark to indicate that there was ever anything there. It has been three years and I've not had any more cysts. Thank you for your concern though. Cheers

Not me screaming “ YOU CANT JUST CUT IT AND BE DONE!!” These folks seriously need better education on cysts and watching Dr. Popzit should be mandatory!!
Not being doctors, they can only do so much. If they opened it any more, it would need stitches to close the wound, or maybe the wound would need packing.
But they are a spa..not dermatologist or doctor.. i don't think they could do those procedures.. the client should have done it at a clinic.. i hope those cottons are sterile... usually doctors would use sterile gauze...
Totally agree, I have had many of these and they are cut wider. Whoever is dining this is damaging the skin and cell around this. Even an amateur knows this damages the skin. This will continue to come back. This video is done for likes not for the patient's wellbeing.

From what I've learnt the pressure of having such a large cyst is released as soon as it's cut. It also makes a difference whether it's infected or not. This doesn't appear to be infected so I an ideal world the removal of the whole sac by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon would have been the best course of treatment. I'm thinking that the cost of the procedure has been a big influence on the treatments available. I wish this patient all the best and I really hope that it doesn't return as this can happen even when a small part is left behind.
@@bob2161 it sounds like it was infected. I'm sorry that you had to go through so much pain. I really hope that it doesn't come back and that you never have to deal with it again. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Xx
Cheers
I wonder if the treatment comes with a free bottle of whisky 🥃 to dull the pain and help forget??

EXACTLY!!! I was horrified when I saw the person cut the sac at the top and left it at that. You’re supposed to remove the sac so that the cyst doesn’t grow again. This is clearly done by someone that isn’t a board certified dermatologist.
For the thousandth time, she is not a dermatologist. She is not allowed to do further surgical procedures to remove the entire thing.
Yes. I agree. It's impossible to know if you've removed all the gunk with just tiny pin prick hole's. I don't think these doctors are 100% effective.
@@watev26789 we know, which is why it’s better to go to a dermatologist who knows what they’re doing, instead of just going to these places and wasting their money for something that’s gonna come back anyways. If they go to a dermatologist, at least they can get a prescription for their acne and cyst problems, cuz in the long run, they’ll waste more money in these spa places than actually going to a doctor.
