According to the Atharv Veda, the Dakshinavarti Shankh is auspicious for placing in house or workplace, and for storing water in it for Abhishek of deities and family members, as well as sprinkling around to remove negativity, because of its energy storing ability for being a non-blowing Shankh, and opening toward Right hand which is the recommended hand for "giving" according to the Yajur Veda.
So, whether it's from USA or India doesn't matter.
Your books and study are amazing and useful for knowing about Shankh as a natural object. However, in case of its auspicious uses, your theory is wrong.
