I wouldn't call this a tenor key. It tops out at F#. IIRC Ezio Pinza (a bass) sang it just a whole step lower (in C instead of D).
Gigli, di Stefano, Schipa and even Pavarotti used to sing in this key. Actually, the highest note is an A.
@@gabrielfrota4190 The A is written as interpolated or optional but yeah fair enough. Question is I guess what Tosti might have intended and I don't know how to answer that.
@@loniousmonk Tosti was himself a tenor and wrote his romanzas mostly in that tessitura.
