First time there today!! Ohhhhhhhhhh my I would not believe it if I didn't see it. My son had told about this place. They run out like 1hr to 1:45 after that door opens!!!!
Every single item has its own unique flavor aside from them being smoked😮. The sides aren't just fillers, they're magic all on they're own as well. The cornbread😢the cobbler😢. MOTHER OF PEARL!!!!
thank God I live bout 2hrs away. Definitely worth the trip no matter from where!!!!❤❤ and the entire staff is super warm and friendly. They acknowledge everyone. Truly a group of people who loooove what they do. It reflects on they're products
Chiminies crickets!!!
I'm from Lockhart raised and graduated this guy is legit awesome and his food is the best so much that when you eat his pulled pork sandwich u wanna buy another 1 no joke... We were so sad he left to nm if I ever go i'm taking my kids straight there so they can experience it... When they say it's the best hands down his food is.
He just had a spot with America’s Best Restaurants and invited all Active Duty members of the Air Force base near Alamogordo and gave every Uniformed member a free sandwich/.5lb of meat with a half pint side and drink for free for the support he has had from all of us that work down here, and when I tell you damn near the whole base shut down to come out and get a free meal from him and to support his establishment I mean it. Jack is a fantastic pitmaster and a better friend!
Can’t forget the corn bread and the cobbler!! Absolutely amazing! Best I have ever had!
Great video showing what Mad Jack does over there my man! I had the opportunity to meet him out in Lockhart years ago before he went out to NM. He took me on to his trailer and we had an AWESOME talk while he showed me how he did his business and his Old Hickory pits. SUPER nice guy that just didn't seem to get a fair shake in Lockhart. He DESERVES the great business he has going on out there now. Way to go Mad Jack!!!!!!!!!
You are spot on brother, he makes some bomb Barbecue way up in the mountains and we saw him give away extra meat on every tray.
when the weather gets better and the april winds disappear me and the family go up there for a drive from rio rancho nm
I am going to be driving from Las Cruces to Albuquerque in late October-- think we may detour to Cloudcroft. looks so good.
Definitely the best BBQ in New Mexico!
Well done fellas, a GREAT video! I'm a retiree living in far northeast El Paso but have yet to visit Cloudcroft. "Mad Jack's MB" now makes it worth the couple hours drive. The lines of waiting people seem like the only negative but hey, in today's world, waiting in line is a given anywhere...LOL!LOL!LOL!
@@GreenhornBBQbeer Not yet. I've been busy getting my 3-cylinder 1996 Geo Metro fully restored to original condition, the centerpiece being a brand new oem remanufactured engine. By the end of January 2020, I'll have the new catalytic converter installed. Then my little car will be fully ready to take on the 4000 foot road trek ascending from Alamogordo to Cloudcroft which I plan for late Spring when there is no longer a threat of road closing snows up there! Meanwhile, I'll just have to stay in El Paso enjoying my own homemade BBQ of succulent pork shoulder roasts from Sprouts Market covered in KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce, LOL!LOL!LOL!
You know when those horrible long lines wanna keep us from going to a restaurant I tell myself THERE'S A REASON, WAITE IT OUT!!! . And 97%of the time it is soooooooo worth it. Belive me you gotta go. I'm from el paso too and I'd like to make it a monthly trip!!!
More often if I was retired 😮🤭🤭🤭
Looking good! Can't wait to visit, still locked down in Nevada!
Hope you get a chance soon! Check James' out on Facebook for current happenings.
I've never been to new Mexico before. I bet it's awesome. The beef ribs looked awesome. Great video brother
Thank you, you need to visit, it has some serious history and of course the BBQ is great!
watching this as I eat a "Kirk Jackson" sandwich from mad jacks lol. I live in el paso so every month or so I ride up to cloudcroft and have some bbq, and take a bunch home. Best I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. He's a super nice guy and always hooks it up with a sample as you walk along the counter. The rest of the time, when I'm slumming it here in el paso, I go to famous Dave's lol, but it doesn't even come close.
I am eating with my friend alex sosa he is my friend
I recall the character "Alex Sosa" from the 1983 motion picture "Scarface" performing opposite Al Pacino. Somehow I think your little friend Alex has nothing in common with that character in the film...LOL!LOL!LOL!
What a great day to go up to Cloudcroft New Mexico for some fantastic brisket and dino ribs at Mad Jack's Mountaintop Barbecue! This is famed Billy the Kid territory and at 9000' the temperatures remain mild even when it's a over a 100゚ on The Valley floor. The barbecue was Amazing!
