Hi Guys! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and an awesome start to the new year! We finally got around to putting together the next vlog, hope you all enjoy :-)
Have just found you guys. I love the dynamic between you two. My wife and I have been talking about starting our own channel lately. We are so blessed to live in this amazing country and I can't think of any other way I'd rather experience it than on with my wifey on our bikes. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. It's really inspiring. 😊
Hi team. Some excellent video work there to give an excellent idea of the area as seen from a motorbike. Those two days of video took me ten days on my bike. Good to see that some asphalting of the Mereenie Loop has been done. I had two other obstacles to progress on my ride. With some rain, that surface turned to claggy mud, and I had 80 mm of sticky stuff on the wheels that I needed to scrape off with a stick for about 1 km. I could get about two turns of the wheel, ie, 2 x 2.3 m = 5 m, before needing to de-clag. Ended up removing the brakes where it was really catching, but ten minutes later it was back solid. The second section was cobblestones. Fist-sized rocks bedded in clay. Enough to rattle fillings loose. That really seemed to go on forever. It was so much fun I did it a second time! But I wouldn't like to take those narrow tyres through the bulldust. That looked imminently lethal.
Wow now that’s an adventure!! And to do it twice! You definitely have some bragging rights with that one :-) We’d love to do a trip like that on bicycles, it took us 19 months to get around Australia on motorbikes so we’d probably need about 10 years on bicycles 😂
Hello Tina and Jason ,well good to see you both on the road and finally into Alice Springs, amazing country out there, well done on riding the dirt roads it was not easy, the bikes continue to do the job! I am looking forward to the next big video.. David...Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler & MG V7 Stone....
Hi David, good to hear from you! I hope the planning for your big trip is coming along nicely. It is absolutely stunning out there, the scenery along the Mereenie loop was spectacular and definitely worth the tough ride. Cheers
What an awesome ride and so glad the UA-cam algo put you in my feed today! Not sure why it took it so long. All the dirt roads is all part of adventure riding. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Stay the right side up!
Hey Greg we're glad the algo popped us in your feed too, welcome! Definitely part of the adventure, we're getting more comfortable with each one. Great to have you along for the ride, cheers!
Couple of days binging at 2x and I've caught up with you crazy kids. Thanks for taking me along on your adventure. Has been great living vicariously through your wonderful travels. Stay safe.@@TinaandJason
Hi Rob, thanks for checking in. Yep everything is well, just life getting in the way of editing. We're almost finished the next vid though, so should be out this Sunday :-)
Giday Tina and Jason Great video i really Enjoy watching Your videos keep up the Good work,Yes Those out back Dirt roads really wair You down But IT Looks like A Great place that You so You can relax and rejuvenate, Thank You for Your videos Take care God Bless You Both 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Thanks Brian! We were definitely worn down by the end of it, I think it was partly because we weren't expecting it to be so rough, but we got there in the end. Take care and see you next time :-)
Great update. We found that dirt loop road an absolute shocker and that was in a 4wd. Even let the tyres down a few times. We did come across a grader but he had only started to grade it. We saw a lot of donkeys and horses and a few camels along it. Great scenery as you said.
Thanks mate. We definitely struggled on it but it was worth the amazing scenery. We didn’t see any wild life when we were there, we may have been to focused on the road 😂
😳 that's crazy! I would hate to think what they are charging in the outback now. That's why we added the dates into this video for context, can't believe how fast the price of petrol has gone up.
@@TinaandJason and the stupid thing was we all filled up because one of us was dead empty, then just at the next town kocaban it was $2.30. we all just looked each other !
Thanks MC, glad to hear you enjoy the vids. We definitely plan to release more, sometimes life just gets in the way haha. Hopefully will have one in the next week or two. Cheers
Wow, well done you, you're so sweet. And Jason is okay too I guess :) I was just beginning to wonder where you were and there it was. So many places I haven't been but now I can at least get an appreciation of what it is I'm missing, thanks keep up the great videos.
Great to see another video...and the sand roads, I have a lot of sand expierence and actually enjoy riding in it. You have a nice place for a week of rest, although, the editing always takes more time than filming...so don't work to hard...try to relax. Take care and will see you in the next installment. And thanks for taking me along.
Thanks mate :-) I wish we did but we still haven’t got the hang of sand yet, we’re better than when we started but still not at the point where we can relax/enjoy. Maybe one day. We’ll see you in the next ep :-)
Thanks guys.... wow and I thought BJ's $5.00 for a can of coke at Daley Waters was bad..... quite enjoying the accompanying muscical soundtracks and as always the commentary. and interactions. Another top episode. thanks for sharing guys, cheers
$5 for a can of coke is bad, just not in the outback haha, it's like they all decided it's ok to charge airport prices. Thanks Steeley glad you liked it, we're looking forward to the next time we can ride together, take care mate.
Yes still on the mend, 6 months in with about 3 month’s rehab to go 😩, no riding yet but we will be back , hope you guys are doing well, Tina jacqui said your amazing in the loose stuff
That sounds rough, I'm sure it hasn't been fun but you're almost done. I bet you're hanging to get back out there. Tina laughed and said "slow and steady wins the race" haha.
It was a hell of a road - corragated and sandy in patches but worth the stops along the way. I'm not sure we'd be rushing back there to do it again anytime soon though haha
Hi Jason and Tina, I've enjoyed watching all your videos over and over. Just wondering if you ever had your engine light come on after dropping the bike ? Great videos, awesome job. Baz
Thanks Barry we're both glad you're enjoying the vids :-) Regarding the engine light, not from memory. If it did it was only temporary. We never had any issues other than taking a little bit of time to start back up again cause the engine was flooded.
Welcome! Regarding wild camping, it's not officially allowed in Australia but is tolerated in many areas. We wild camped a few times in the outback and never had a problem, Tina just wanted to have a shower this day.
